Vicars of Stiffkey - 'live and uncassocked' album launch
Defrocked. Disgraced. Deceased? This Easter weekend there will be a resurrection as the Vicars of Stiffkey return to save our souls. They lived for their art, they died for your entertainment, now they're live again at the Mash Tun in Norwich on Thursday 13th April to launch their debut 7-track EP.
The CD release party runs from 8-12 and is free entry featuring performances from Blank Lines, Painted Heathers and the Vicars themselves as well as various other shenanigans such as free CDs to be won, a merch table whereat you may show your devotion to the Vicars through the purchase of icons, a live video shoot for the forthcoming single from Painted Heathers and Blank Lines will be giving away limited edition CDs of their first EP.

Merla’s eyes fixed on him, eerily unblinking, a bit too much like a watchful hawk’s. “It matters?”
Adrienne sputtered. “Of course it does! Do I call you he or she?”
“I’m partial to both, Doni’. They as well.”
NAME: Merla Mero
RACE: Mozu Revas; Jaguar
NATIONALITY: Vierran
SEXUALITY/PRONOUNS: Aro/Pan/any
Merla has a long life beneath her belt. She witnessed the death of most of her clan at a young age. Instead of staying with what remained, she joined a travelling band of mercenaries, eventually becoming a mercenary herself. In this group, she met her best friend, Avri.
After years of working together, Merla and Avri decided that they didn’t see themselves ever taking romantic partners, so they decided to start a family together. When their twin daughters were born, though, Avri died during childbirth, leaving Merla a single parent.
They loved their daughters dearly, raising them to be warriors much like they were and continuing their work with new family. Tragedy struck once more, though, when Merla tangled with corrupted authorities of the Masko Alliance. They were captured and their daughters came to help, only to die during the escape.
Merla left Vierra afterwards, thinking that the only way he would find peace was by leaving behind the cause of so many of his woes. He took jobs all across Esurience before finding himself in Solvan. Exotic to the isolated peoples there, he was in high demand. It was Adrienne’s family who offered the most pay for his services, so he became Adrienne’s personal guard.
Merla’s a little more concerned about his own personal struggles than he is the tragedy that cause so many people to disappear. He can’t help but linger on the deaths of his family, fighting a desire for vengeance with his desire for peace.
Merla probably has the most trouble fitting in with the group. Even once the fae, a little more knowledgeable about Vierran culture than the Solvani, join up, they find themself unable to connect. They only remain because they have no where else to go.

Band di masa lalu yang menemani tumbuh
Bersyukur lahir di tahun 95’ masih bisa merasakan memutar lagu kesukaan menggunakan kaset/CD, kalaupun tidak memiliki kaset/CDnya bisa mendengarkan radio dan memesan lagu yang diinginkan bonus salam-salam. Jaman rupanya sudah bergeser sangat jauh... Dulu butuh proses untuk sekedar mendengarkan lagu yang disukai, tapi sekarang asal memiliki kuota tinggal klik saja apa yang disuka. Lebih mudah dan praktis. Dulu saya suka sekali dengan grup musik Wayang, Ada band, Naff, dan juga Ari Laso gegara waktu itu tertular virus dari om saya yang setiap pagi sering memutar lagu-lagu dari grup musik tersebut. Rupanya lagu menjadi pengiring narasi hidup yang monumental. Setiap lagu dari masa lalu yang menemani sebuah kejadian, kita seolah mendengar lagu dan menyaksikan peristiwa itu (kembali) secara bersamaan. Semakin saya bertumbuh selera sayapun berganti jauh. Waktu SD saya suka dengan grup musik Peterpan, alasannya sederhana karena waktu itu Peterpan sedang hits sekali. Setiap kali mendengar lagu-lagunya Ariel otomatis saya nyanyi--- seolah sudah hafal di luar kepala. Lagu Ada Apa Denganmu adalah lagu yang dulu sering saya nyanyikan ketika teman saya memusuhi saya tanpa alasan yang jelas. Dengan suara fals saya bernyanyi sekencang hati didekatnya, bukannya baikan, saya malah tambah didiamkan... Waktu SMP saya suka dengan Ungu, Alasannya karena lirik-lirik lagunya PAS betul. “Semuanya telah berakhir.. antara hatiku dan hatimu... takkan ada cinta... seperti yang duluuuuu..”. Waktu itu saya putus dari pacar pertama saya HAHAHAHA. Waktu SMA saya jatuh cinta dengan lagu-lagu dari grup musik Vierra. Grup musik yang vokalisnya mirip saya ini #halah adalah grup musik yang saya sukai gegara orang yang saya sukai menyukai grup musik ini. NAH, Betapa musik bisa menjadi ajang untuk PDKT dengan gebetan (tapi sayang saya gagal, saya pun belajar : menyukai sesuatu bukan karena suka tapi karena ingin disukai ternyata bukan sebuah solusi untuk keberhasilan sebuah PDKT) Dan di usia yang sekarang, lagu-lagu indie menjadi musik yang suka dengarkan. Bermula dengan kenalan pertama kali saya dengan grup musik Mocca, lagu remember adalah lagu yang saya sukai. Terlalu banyak peristiwa yang mengingatkan bersama lagu tersebut, masa-masa SMA. Sekarang selera saya rupanya melebar menjadi “saya menyukai apa yang saya dengar” tidak ada yang terkhusus dan teristimewa. Malam ini semua lagu baik dari masa lalu dan masa kini mengajak saya untuk menyaksikan potongan ulang cerita-cerita yang telah berlalu. Ehhh rindu juga rupanya..

Membahas kesenangan.
Shishi senang melakukan apa?
1. Berdiam diri memandang hujan. Senang sekali. Apalagi kalau hujan tidak disertai gemuruh. Aku dan petir sekeluarga saling memusuhi, jantungku sudah tak sanggup lagi mendengar suara ekstra keras dalam sekejap. Karena pikiran dan suara dikepalaku sudah cukup.
2. Berkeliling kota. Suka sekali. Menikmati hiruk pikuk kota. Melihat bagaimana banyak pedagang makanan, pekerja kantoran, bapak parkir, bapak supir angkutan umum, wah. Banyak sekali. Karena dengan begitu, aku menyadari banyak hal; semua orang sedang menjalani hidupnya.
3. Minum kopi di sore hari. Haduh. Ini sudah tak bisa ditolerir. Membayangkan pahitnya kopi dipadu dengan telur gulung, wah!
4. Hunting foto. Bisa dipadukan dengan berkeliling kota. Dengan kamera digital pemberian kakak, aku sudah banyak menangkap kenangan oranglain lewat lensa.
5. Berjalan kaki. Walau kakiku sering sakit, kalsium ditubuhku sangat rendah ditambah dengan kadar darahku yang juga ikut-ikut rendah; sungguh luar biasa kan kalau aku punya hobi jalan kaki.
Tapi, sekali lagi. Aku suka semua itu, tapi tak sendirian. Aku ingin mempunyai teman untuk melakukan semuanya. Sudah kutemukan. Sahabat-sahabatku gemar hal yang sama. Ada juga yang ogah.
Sekarang, aku akan lakukan hal yang kusuka. Tidak perlu khawatir pandangan orang lain. Ha! Ada tambahan lagi.
5. Aku suka jam tangan beraneka warna, khususnya soft. Aku juga suka menggunakan kaus kaki berbeda warna. Lucu saja. Aku juga suka menggenakan ikat rambut dengan pita-pita.
6. Aku suka mendengar band-band indonesia seperti kangen band, st12, ada band, vierra, kerispatih, ungu, dsb. Sekarang sedang gemar memperdengarkan hindia, kunto aji & day6 untuk diperdengarkan seluruh dunia.
Sekarang apa yang kuinginkan selain jadwal sidang?
1. Beli syal. Gak tau. Aku suka.
2. Beli kacamata hitam, siapa tau sahabat-sahabatku yang super wacana ingin mengajakku berlibur.
3. Main hujan. Tapi pakai jaket hujan. Asli. Ingin sekali. Semoga terwujud.
