For anyone wondering what Biden has done for "ordinary Americans", or why they should vote to give him four more years (besides keeping a literal fascist out of power).

CLAIM: The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case to remove President Joe Biden from office and reinstate former President Donald Trump in his place.
AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. The Supreme Court has not decided to hear such a case. On Feb. 21, the Justices rejected for a second time to hear a case that cites baseless 2020 election fraud claims to call for the Court to oust from office hundreds of elected officials, including Biden, as well as to prevent them from holding any elected government position again. Several days later, a website published an article incorrectly stating that the case was going ahead, but the post has since been taken down.
THE FACTS: Nearly one week after the Supreme Court Justices doubled down on their decision not to hear the suit, social media users falsely claimed the opposite.
One Instagram post shared a screenshot of a headline reading: “Supreme Court To Hear Case To Reinstate Donald Trump Over ‘Rigged’ Election.” It had received nearly 1,400 likes as of Wednesday.
The full article, which was published on Feb. 26, four days after the decision, stated that the Court was “reconsidering hearing” the lawsuit “after previously dismissing it earlier this year.” It has since been taken down, and an article published on Feb. 28 by the same author correctly reports that the court rejected the case.
Other posts made days after the decision echoed the original article’s claim that the case still had a chance of being heard. They received tens of thousands of likes and shares on Twitter.
The suit — Adams v. Brunson, et al. — was previously dismissed by a lower court, and that ruling was upheld on appeal, according to court documents. It was then appealed to the Supreme Court in October 2022. The suit argues that Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former Vice President Mike Pence and 385 members of Congress committed treason when they failed to probe baseless claims that the 2020 election was rigged.
Further, it calls for the removal of these officials and a ban on their future ability to hold elected office, as well as “the swearing in of the legal and rightful heirs for President and Vice President of the United States.” It does not specifically name Trump.
In January 2023, the Supreme Court declined to hear the case and an appeal was filed later that month. The Court rejected the case for a second time on Feb. 21.
Aziz Huq, a professor of law at the University of Chicago who is an expert on constitutional law, told The Associated Press that it is unlikely the Supreme Court will ever hear a case such as Adams v. Brunson, given that it relies on a false narrative.
“Certainly something that is founded upon the irresponsible conspiracy mongering fallacies that this petition is based upon seems to me an unlikely fodder for the Supreme Court,” he said.

I know you met Barack Obama but have you met Joseph Biden or William Clinton?
No, the only President I've ever met was Obama.
However, I did meet Vice President Harris during the 2008 campaign (very early in the campaign -- in the spring of 2007, in fact) when she was the District Attorney in San Francisco and drove up to Sacramento one afternoon to help with an Obama fundraiser.

Way too many people need to rely on bitching about Biden’s age because they know that if they say that they don’t want MVP Kamala Harris; they know they’d be exposed that they hate Black Women and they damn sure don’t want a Black Woman to eventually lead the United States of America.
The misogynoir will be getting loud after November when Biden is re elected and it will come from white democrats who want Newsom to run ( even though he said he’s not and said it a million times), Black Men who hate Black Women, the API community, and even Black Women who don’t like other Black Women to be successful, like those losers, Nina Turner, Brie Brie Joy, Joy Reid and Bree Newsome , will be amplifying the bullshit.
“ Biden is ‘too’ old” = “ we don’t want a Black Woman as the future President of The United States!”

We like VP Harris. Contrary to what Red State liars and their stooges in the media have reported, Kamala Harris has a long and distinguished career as a public servant.
From San Francisco District Attorney in 2003; to California Attorney General; to the U.S. Senate, where she succeeded Barbara Boxer; to Vice President of the United States, Harris has proven herself time and again.
We are certain that Kamala Harris will rise to every challenge as Vice President if she wins the vice presidential election in 2024.

Vice President Kamala Harris was interviewed by Keke Palmer in New Orleans, Louisana over the weekend as part of Essence Festival, but the bright lights and official backdrop behind the two women couldn't distract from one problem: Louisiana was misspelled on the official signage.

“In the last two + years we have witnessed an assassination attempt on Vice President Pence.
An assasination attempt on Vice President elect Kamala Harris.
And TWO assassination attempts on 2nd in line to the Presidency - Speaker Pelosi.
An attempted kidnapping and assasination of Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer.
Countless numbers of death threats aimed at election clerks, school board members, other elected officials (both Democrats and Republicans)
Rising incidents of hate crimes against the Asian community, Jewish community, Black community, LGBTQ + community etc.
All by white nationalist terrorists incited by, encouraged and supported by Trump, Putin, and lots of dark money.
All with a wink wink nod nod by the majority of Republican leadership.
It shouldn’t matter your political leanings - this should terrify anyone, as this is a crisis.
And because it comes from angry violent white people, it’s dismissed and characterized as misguided “economic anxiety.”
Please vote. Please don’t cede an inch of political power to the forces of hate and division and violence.”

David Smith at The Guardian:
Joe Biden has shown no mercy to Donald Trump with a series of barbed jokes about his election rival, telling a gathering of Washington’s political and media elites: “I’m a grown man running against a six-year-old.”
The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner on Saturday night provided the ideal platform for Biden to continue a recent run of taking the fight to Trump with more aggressive rhetoric, cutting humour and personal insults. But the jovial mood inside the room contrasted sharply with raucous demonstrations outside the Washington Hilton hotel. Hundreds of protesters shouted “Shame on you!” at White House officials, journalists and celebrities as they arrived at the dinner, condemning Biden’s handling of the war in Gaza and the media’s coverage of it. As speculation about a debate between the two men intensifies, Biden – wearing tuxedo and black tie – opened his roast with a direct but joking focus on Trump, calling him “sleepy Don”, in reference to a nickname Trump had given the president previously. “The 2024 election is in full swing and yes, age is an issue,” noted Biden, 81. “I’m a grown man running against a six-year-old.” The president also skewered Trump over a recent speech in which he described the civil war battle at Gettysburg as “interesting, “vicious”, “horrible” and “beautiful”. Biden said: “Speaking of history, did you hear what Donald just said about a major civil war battle? ‘Gettysburg – wow!’ Trump’s speech was so embarrassing, the statute of Robert E Lee surrendered again.”
Biden then made a reference to Trump’s falling out with his former vice-president, Mike Pence, who defied him over the 2020 election result. The president said: “Age is the only thing we have in common. My vice-president actually endorses me.” Vice-president Kamala Harris, sitting nearby on stage, laughed and applauded. The president moved on to Trump’s criminal trial in New York, where he is accused of falsifying business records to cover up a hush money payment to adult film performer Stormy Daniels. Biden said: “Donald has had a few tough days lately. You might call it Stormy weather.”
And then he brought up Trump’s new scheme to sell “God Bless the USA Bibles” for $59.99. “Trump’s so desperate he started reading those Bibles he’s selling. Then he got to the first commandment: ‘You shall have no other gods before me.’ That’s when he put it down and said: “This book’s not for me’.” Biden also poked fun at his own age and delivered some one-liners at the expense of the media. “Some of you complained that I don’t take enough of your questions. No comment.”
President Joe Biden delivered a masterclass at last night's WHCD, including quips about "stormy weather" in reference to Stormy Daniels and naming Donald Trump "Sleepy Don" and referring to him as a "six-year-old."

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jill Biden rallied LGBTQ voters for President Joe Biden ‘s reelection campaign on Friday, calling likely rival Donald Trump a “bully” who is “dangerous” to their community and urging its members to “fight like hell” to keep the Republican from defeating her husband in November.
She said outside forces are working to undo the community’s “hard-won gains” by stripping away rights and freedoms and states are passing laws “targeting this community.” She encouraged members to spend every day until the Nov. 5 election working to gin up support for the Democratic ticket of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Voters in this demographic overwhelmingly supported Biden in 2020. The president, who is struggling with a low public approval rating as well as softening support among other key groups that backed him in 2020, needs the LGBTQ community’s support.
“Donald Trump is a bully. He is dangerous to the LGBTQ community, to our families, to our country, and we cannot let him win,” the first lady said at the event held by the Human Rights Campaign, a prominent civil rights organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.
“We have to fight like hell. Today, tomorrow and all the days after. Until the polls close on Nov 5. Until Joe and Kamala have won another term. Until all the people in all the places can live freely surrounded by love,” she said.
Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Human Rights Campaign event followed the launch this week of “Out for Biden-Harris,” which the president’s reelection campaign created to mobilize LGBTQ voters.
In her speech, Jill Biden said the president has advocated for LGBTQ people by signing the Respect for Marriage Act, ending a ban on blood donations from gay and bisexual men, allowing transgender individuals to serve openly in the military and opposing conversion therapy.
She said outside forces are trying to “erase these hard-won gains.”
“They want to take our victories away but we won’t let them,” Biden said. “Your president will not let them. I will not let them.”

Restoring Roe will be one of the defining issues - but it isn't a gain, just the recovery of a loss. Democrats need to do more than that.

With California Gov. Gavin Newsom continuing his foray into national politics by running ads in Florida, it was only a matter of time until he was included in 2024 general election polling.
A recently released Yahoo News/YouGov survey conducted between June 24-27 polled hypothetical 2024 matchups between President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Newsom on the Democratic side against former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on the Republican side.
The poll found Biden leading Trump 42% to 40% and DeSantis 41% to 37%. It found Harris tied with Trump 41% to 41%, but matched Biden's margin against DeSantis at 41% to 37%.
Finally, it found Newsom beating Trump 40% to 39% and DeSantis 39% to 36%. In every single matchup polled, there are lots of undecided voters. The smallest number of undecided voters is seen in the Harris-Trump matchup (18%), and the largest number is seen in Newsom vs. DeSantis (25%).
The poll suggests Newsom would be a stronger general election candidate than Harris. When running against Trump, Newsom not only fares better than Harris does (albeit narrowly), but he also has more room to grow (21% of voters said they were undecided in the Newsom-Trump matchup compared to 18% who said the same in the Harris-Trump matchup).
For those who point to Harris beating DeSantis by four percentage points in the poll while Newsom beats him by three, consider the massive number of undecided voters in all of the DeSantis matchups. Because DeSantis is a relatively undefined figure at the national level — especially when compared to Biden, Harris and Trump — all of the hypothetical races involving the Florida Governor have more than 20% of survey respondents unable to choose a candidate. Having so many undecided voters makes it difficult to read too much into the results.
That's especially true when DeSantis runs against Newsom — another relatively undefined national figure — and neither candidate is able to top 40% support in the poll.
In other words, it's best to use matchups vs. Trump to gauge a Democratic candidate's general election strength. And this poll shows Newsom would fare better than Harris would, though not by much.
You can check out the full poll results here.

According to Reuters: U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris urged Israel to craft a "credible" humanitarian plan before conducting major military activities in Rafah during a meeting with Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz.
Harris expressed her "deep concern" about humanitarian conditions in Gaza, where Palestinian authorities say more than 30,000 have been killed under a months-long assault by Israel in retaliation for the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks, and the United Nations says many are on the brink of starvation.
The meeting comes as President Joe Biden and his administration face increasing pressure from the Democratic Party to back a permanent ceasefire, and push Israel to reduce the loss of civilian life in Gaza and allow aid to flow through in greater amounts.
In a sign of increasing desperation to get aid to Gaza residents, the U.S. military carried out its first air drop of food to Palestinians on Saturday. It plans more.
You can read the full article here.
Keep contacting your elected representatives. Keep urging them to push for a ceasefire, to vote in favour of sending aid to Gaza, and to vote against bills that put weapons in the hands of people who use them on civilians.
(And, a reminder for those who need it: send those messages to politicians who are in a position to actually do something about this, not to random Jewish people who aren't.)

“Because I choose civility, understanding, listening, working together to get stuff done, I will leave the Senate at the end of this year.”
Despite Sinema’s enormous influence as one of the most coveted swing votes in a closely split Senate, her low approval rating in Arizona and public breakup with the Democratic Party had made her the most vulnerable incumbent in the 2024 election cycle.
Sinema had continued to fundraise this year despite not launching her 2024 campaign, leading to even more questions about her reelection plans.
Sinema was two years into her first term when President Joe Biden ascended to the White House and Democrats barely clinched control of the Senate with the help of Vice President Kamala Harris’s tiebreaking vote. Despite Harris’s vote, which she has in the vice president’s capacity as president of the Senate, Democrats lacked a filibuster-proof majority that would allow them to pass most legislation through the body.
Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) became foes within the party for their refusal to support eliminating the 60-vote filibuster threshold as the rest of the Senate Democratic Caucus got on board. The two faced an intense, very public pressure campaign to shift their stance on the matter as Biden’s agenda stalled.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ push to rally voters in San José around support for reproductive rights ran headlong into protests Monday, demanding an immediate cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas War in Gaza.
At times, protest chants of “cease-fire now” broke out during the rally, interrupting Harris’ speech at least four times. Outside, dozens of protesters lined up along King Road and Alum Rock Avenue, waving signs outside Mexican Heritage Plaza.
[...]
The colliding forces at the Harris rally exposed a key election year challenge for Democrats: many of the younger, progressive voters who the party hopes to win over with a platform of protecting abortion rights are deeply dissatisfied with the Biden administration’s support of Israel.
Holding signs and banners bearing “Free Palestine” and “End U.S. Aid to Israel,” members from the Council on American-Islamic Relations joined a coalition of multi-faith, multiracial organizations with other supporters to demand a permanent cease-fire in Gaza. Allie Felker said she was invited to the Harris event for her work advocating for prenatal care to prevent stillbirths.
But less than three minutes into Harris’ on-stage conversation with actress and activist Sophia Bush, Felker stood up and joined in calls for a cease-fire. Felker told KQED she was motivated by the risks to pregnant women caused by the Israeli invasion. “I can’t come here and advocate for reproductive justice without also standing with Palestine, standing with the women and children of Gaza and saying that the reproductive justice we’re seeking in this country needs to also be equated with what’s happening in Gaza,” Felker told KQED.
[...]
...The ongoing war in Gaza has proven costly to the Biden administration among young voters. A Gallup poll from December found that 50% of Americans under 35 believe the U.S. is giving “too much” support to Israel — compared to 21% who believe the country is lending “too little” support to Israel. “So long as President Biden and Vice President Harris ignore that call [for a cease-fire], they are complicit in genocide, but they are also demonstrating their disconnect with the electorate,” said Zahra Billoo, executive director of CAIR’s San Francisco Bay Area office.

President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday announced new steps to support access to abortion, highlighting an issue that has galvanized voters in the year since the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade.
Ms. Harris will travel to Wisconsin on Monday morning as she begins a national tour focused on preserving access to reproductive health care, as Mr. Biden brings together a task force on reproductive health care in Washington.
Both events are designed to call attention to the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that established a constitutional right to abortion, and to announce new steps that Mr. Biden’s administration has taken to help Americans get contraceptives and abortions under an emergency care law.
“Even as Americans — from Ohio to Kentucky to Michigan to Kansas to California — have resoundingly rejected attempts to limit reproductive freedom, Republican elected officials continue to push for a national ban and devastating new restrictions across the country,” Mr. Biden said in a statement. “On this day and every day, Vice President Harris and I are fighting to protect women’s reproductive freedom.”
In Washington, the Department of Health and Human Services will issue guidance for patients experiencing pregnancy-related emergencies to better understand their rights to care under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, known as EMTALA.
The law requires hospital emergency rooms to provide medically necessary care, including abortions, in urgent circumstances. The department will also provide “training materials for health care providers and establish a dedicated team of experts” to support hospitals around the country, according to a fact sheet distributed by the administration.
