In this article, we will discuss the forest regulations and laws which has been implemented in India since the British period.

Forest Protection Laws and Regulations in India

South India was where the first attempts to control Indian forests started. To investigate the source of teak in the Malabar jungles, a commission was established in 1880. South India was where the first attempts to control Indian forests started. The original Indian Forest Act had been enacted in 1865. On May 1st, 1865, it went into effect. By virtue of an Act, the government was given the authority to designate any area covered by trees as a state forest and to make regulations for their preservation. It was the British government's initial attempt at forest law in India. However, it was the Board of Revenue's attitude that prevented the Indian Forest Act from being extended to the Madras presidency. It was decided that villagers possessed rights over the forests and also that the authorities could not declare the forests as an exclusive domain. The updated Indian Forest Act had been enacted in 1878 and applied to all of British India's provinces, to the exclusion of Madras and a few minor places. The Indian Forest Act of 1865 had shortcomings that this Act attempted to address. This Act divided the forests into three categories: local forests, preserved forests, and conserved forests. This Act limited and regulated the rights of its citizens to use forest areas and the produce from forests that were designated as reserved or protected. The administration was given the authority to manage the forests.

Indian Forest Act, 1927

A new unified Forest Act, including superseded all earlier legislation, was enacted in 1927 to modernize the forest laws and the forest Act of 1875. The Act is made up of 13 chapters and 86 sections. The Act’s primary goals are - To combine the legislation governing forests, - Control over and transportation of forest products, - To impose taxes on wood and other forest products. The Act categorised the forest into three broad manners, as follows: Reserved Forest - Chapter II of said Act covers forest reserves. It is a parcel of land that has been properly designated per section 20 of the Indian Union's State Forest Acts or under its reservation clauses. All rights associated with the aforementioned area of land, both with and without changes or adjustment of limits, vest in the State Authority once the Forest Settlement Officer clears up all claims by either acknowledging or dismissing them following the Act's clauses and has heard and resolved any appeals. Following that, the State Government notifies the public that the area is a Reserved Forest by section 20 of said Indian Forest Act, 1927. Village Forests: Chapter III discusses village forests in detail. Section 28 governs how it is formed. Any local community may be given rights to a piece of land that is potentially part of a forest that has been set aside for their exclusive usage by the government. In most cases, village grazing reserves are formed from forested community property (VGR). Upon settlement revenue, plans for villages and parcels of land with this notification are indicated. The forest in a village is distinct from the village in the forest. Despite the frequent overlap of the two phrases, their meanings are distinct from one another. Village forest is a legal categorization according to the Indian Forest Act, but village forest is only a legal category on paper. Forest villages are acknowledged as part of the forest department, but because they are not formally part of the revenue departments, therefore cannot get revenue benefits. Protected Forests - Chapter IV of said Act deals with protected forests. It is a region or amount of land that has been designated as government property following the terms of section 29 and is not a restricted forest. As opposed to the proclamation of a reserved forest, it does not necessitate the drawn-out and laborious process of settlement. The Administration may issue notices designating specific trees as being reserved, suspending any private rights for a maximum of 30 years, or prohibiting quarrying, the removal of any forest product, distribution of land, etc. Non-government Forests are a different category of forests. Despite not being specifically referred to as a different category, this category is covered in Chapter V of such an Act. It includes any property and forests that are not under governmental control. To safeguard against hurricanes, winds, moving stones, floods, and landslides, to maintain soil against erosion, try to preserve water in springs, waterways, and storage tanks, to prevent roads, bridges, railways, and communications lines as well as to protect public health, the State government may by notification control or forbid the splitting up or emptying of land for agriculture, the grazing land for cattle, or even the firing or removing vegetation.

Forest Conservation Act, 1980

The Parliament passed the use Forest Conservation Act, 1980 in 1980 in response to India's rapidly declining forest cover and to fulfill its constitutional duty under Article 48-A. On December 18, 2006, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha both overwhelmingly approved the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006. The purpose of this Act was to grant accustomed forest inhabitants ownership rights regarding forestland. The legislation relates to the denial of land and related resources for populations living in forests for decades due to the persistence of colonial forest rules in India. The following are among the rights listed in the Act: - Right to reside inside a forest as part of a private or public occupancy for habitat or self-cultivation for a living - Access, utilisation, and disposal of minor forest products - Rights like grazing and customary seasonal resource availability - Any local administration or state administration may award grants or leases on forest areas, but only certain rights may be converted to titles. The authority to maintain, preserve, restore, or safeguard any communal forest resources meet certain requirements to be classified as "scheduled," including possessing “primitive” characteristics, living in seclusion, having a distinctive culture, avoiding contact with outsiders, and being financially “backward”.

El 24 de abril del 2017 publicamos un artículo de un ministro australiano llamado Len J. Jones, titulado Asistí a otra reunión del Hermano Branham, 1959. El artículo era un resumen de su primera visita a las reuniones del Hermano Branham de 1951 (en Vernon, Columbia Británica) y luego escribió otro de 1954 (Shreveport, Luisiana). Un día, estaba cruzando un campo cuando un toro feroz intentó embestirlo. No había árboles donde subirse ni cercas que saltar, pues se encontraba en el centro del campo. No había otra esperanza, sino Dios. Dijo que una extraña paz lo invadió y supo que el animal no podría hacerle daño. El toro escarbó la tierra y luego corrió hacia a él a gran velocidad. Se detuvo allí, indefenso, en el medio del campo con un toro que corría hacia él. Lo único que hizo fue pararse allí y, mientras el toro se acercaba, dijo suavemente: “No puedes lastimarme y yo no quiero lastimarte. Ahora solo aléjate y recuéstate”. El toro se acercó como hasta una distancia de 1 metro y entonces se detuvo repentinamente e hizo exactamente lo que le habían dicho. Entonces recordamos a Daniel en el foso de los leones.

Para ilustrar el poder del amor, no solo en la gente, sino también en los animales e insectos. Contó que un día estaba cortando el césped sin camisa, pues era un día muy caluroso. Perturbó un enjambre de avispas y estas volaron hacía él para atacarlo. De nuevo, él les habló suavemente a las avispas y les pidió que se alejaran, pues no quería lastimarlas ni que lo lastimaran a él. Entonces se alejaron de él sin molestarlo. Esto, dijo él, fue exactamente lo que ocurrió con el apóstol Pablo cuando la víbora se prendió a su mano, él solo la sacudió y la arrojó al fuego, sin temor.

Con respecto a la sanidad, el Hermano Branham dijo que Jesús no sanó a todos en el estanque de Betesda. Él pasó por alto a muchos sin decir una palabra. Él habría podido sanarlos a todos, pero no lo hizo; solo sanó a un hombre. Y así, dijo él, ocurre hoy en día. El Señor puede obrar, pero solo algunos se esfuerzan y tocan el borde de Su vestidura.

Dijo que Jesús no podía hacer nada por sí mismo, por eso pasó por alto a tantos en el estanque de Betesda y no acudió el primer día al llamado de María y Marta por su hermano Lázaro. Tuvo que esperar hasta que el Padre le hablara, pues Él no podía hacer nada hasta que el Padre le mostrara.

Él dijo que Jesús vio todo en visiones. Él discernió los pensamientos de los hombres. ¿Qué podemos decir ante semejantes declaraciones? ¿Qué sabemos al respecto? Eso se sale de nuestra dimensión, pero allí estaba un hombre que vive en esa dimensión y, antes de que esa noche acabara, iba a hacer lo mismo que habló de la manera más asombrosa. ¡Branham es un hombre fuera de lo común! ¡Él vive en otro mundo! ¡Jamás había escuchado algo semejante! ¡Nunca había visto nada igual! Nunca había

conocido a un hombre como él y no creo que conozca a otro igual mientras viva.

Después de que terminó de hablar, dijo: “Ahora, si soy un profeta de Dios, las cosas que he hablado acontecerán esta noche. Si no ocurren, pueden llamarme un falso profeta”. ¡Jamás había escuchado a un hombre decir algo así! ¡Nunca había oído a un hombre hablar con tanta autoridad!

Antes de que comenzara la reunión, su hijo repartió tarjetas a aquellos que deseaban oración. Las tarjetas iban numeradas desde la L 50 hasta la L 100. De ese auditorio abarrotado, pasaron 15 personas para recibir oración y se pararon en la línea. Ahora, pensé: “Veremos si este hombre solo habla teoría y teología como el resto de nosotros, o tiene un conocimiento experimental de lo que afirma”. Dentro de poco, quedé convencido de que allí, sin duda, se encontraba un hombre que hizo las cosas que predicamos.

Cuando las quince personas se pararon frente a él, dijo: “Estas personas son extrañas para mí. Nunca las había visto. ¡No las conozco en lo absoluto! Ahora…”, añadió: “veremos lo que el Señor hará esta noche. Satanás es solo un fanfarrón. Jesús ganó la victoria en la Cruz del Calvario y nos hizo jefes”. Nosotros también decimos lo mismo, pero este hombre iba a demostrarlo ante nuestros ojos.

La primera persona que se paró frente a él era una señora de mediana edad, tranquila y delgada. El Hermano Branham interactuó con toda la gente de una forma muy amable y calmada, nunca levantó la voz ni se alteró o molestó. Todo el tiempo manejó la situación a la perfección. Branham es el tipo de hombre que siempre he creído que un Cristiano debe ser. Es un hombre gentil y humilde, en todo el sentido de la palabra; solo tiene un propósito en la vida: complacer al Señor. Todos lo aman. Nadie lo envidia por su éxito ni por su gran popularidad. Él se comporta igual en los grandes auditorios de la tierra con 10.000 asientos —los cuales con frecuencia se llenan completamente—, que en su humilde hogar, donde ministra a los que van a visitarlo.

Cuando la primera persona se paró delante de él, todos contuvieron el aliento para ver si lo que había dicho acontecería en esa reunión. Muchos predicadores cuentan lo que ha pasado en otras reuniones, pero aquí había un hombre que ya había afirmado: “Si soy un profeta de Dios, las cosas que he hablado acontecerán esta noche. Si no ocurren, pueden llamarme un falso profeta” .

Él esperó un rato, pues no tenía prisa. Le habló tranquilamente como si esperara que le llegara inspiración: “Ahora, no la conozco en lo absoluto. Nunca nos habíamos conocido. Si puedo decirle cosas sobre Ud. y cuál es su problema, reconocerá que el Señor me ha revelado esto, pues ningún hombre puede hacer tales obras por su propio poder”. Ella estuvo de acuerdo. El aire era electrificante y se percibía una atmósfera tensa llena de emoción y expectativa. Ahora citaré exactamente lo que le dijo, pues lo escribí mientras él hablaba:

“Ud. no vive en Shreveport. Ud. viene de fuera de la ciudad. Veo que el lugar de donde viene tiene muchos pinos. ¿Es correcto?”. La señora asintió en silencio. Él continuó: “Le diré dónde es, es en Camden, Camden en Arkansas. Sí y su nombre es Dorothy, pero la llaman Dolly. Así es. Ud. es Dolly Yacht y tiene dos tumores en su estómago”.

Cuando dijo esto, el caos estalló en la multitud. Parecía que todos lloraban, sollozaban y gritaban al mismo tiempo. Algo ocurrió en mi interior y sé que nunca seré el mismo. Por favor, no digan que se trataba de un engaño; la atmosfera del lugar y el espíritu del hombre harían ver tal pensamiento como algo sacrílego. Todo esto ocurrió a menos de 2 metros de donde estaba sentado en la plataforma. La mujer se bajó de la plataforma llorando, sollozando y adorando a Dios. Cuando la vi por última vez estaba arrodillada en silencio en uno de los pasillos de la iglesia, con sus manos levantadas adorando a Dios y con lágrimas rodando por sus mejillas.
