I don't remember if I ever mentioned it (I think I did on twitter at some point) but what had happened was Enid and her mother were driving to a dance event, it was kind of right before her real big break, basically.

She and her mother were arguing in the car and having a fight and they ended up in a bad wreck with a bunch of other cars, pretty bad stuff. Enid was pretty lucky to get out alive but she's got burn scars from the gas fire that broke out and her leg hasn't been the same since, essentially physically barring her from any competitive or high professional ballet in the future
