he has been here for sometime and she is almost certain that this month it’s happened. this month that stick was going to read positive and she was going to have what she’s always wanted. a child to be mounted on top of all the other accomplishments that she has achieved. a child to on top of her empire once she is gone. she will be content. that is when one knows that they have reached the pinnacle of success, when someone survives them, when there will be someone that will carry on her legacy. she feels like she has done her duty and that is, above all, what is important to her.
and what of him? what would happen to him now that he’s done his job? because it had been a job, hadn’t it? in spite of the pleasant talks that passed between them, as rare as they were. usually he was irritating, he grated on her nerves and all she found him to be was completely amusing. she enjoyed laughing at him, she liked looking at him - if only to remind herself just why it was she didn’t want a man in her life. Matrim Cauthon was evidence enough for that. although sometimes he had a way of smiling that made her - no, she wouldn’t think that way. only fools thought that way. she only brought him here because of his genes, the attractiveness of his face - because her daughter did indeed need to be beautiful - and because he was willing to do this for the money she was offering.
striding out of her bathroom she enters the spacious master bedroom and her gaze immediately falls on Matrim where he sits on the chaise with his phone before his face. “ What are you doing in here? “ she asks, starting on shrugging off her robe. she felt exhausted and perhaps that was also another sign that their job was well done. “ I didn’t ask for you to come. “ although the last few days he had slept here, resting his head on her chest and her fingers brushed through the length of his dark curls and she had actually drifted to the lull of his breathing. no. he was a nuisance and he would soon be gone.
“ I also have no thought for going out tonight. “
