Greetings friends,

As some of you know, besides sometimes scribbling Destiny ficlets here, I also scribble professionally for Velvet Fang Games, a small TTRPG studio that grew out of the Dungeons & Destiny fan project. A little while ago I shared an announcement about our upcoming project, The Deck of Possibilities™.

Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances recently required us to close the crowdfunding page we'd been preparing on Gamefound, and make a new one on Kickstarter. This is the link to that campaign page, which will open to backers on August 18.

Hopefully our campaign will have better visibility there, but annoyingly anyone who already knew about the Gamefound page will need to be redirected to Kickstarter. If you previously took an interest in the Deck, I hope you'll continue to follow us on Kickstarter. If you told others about the Deck, please do me the favor of sharing the new crowdfunding page with them, or at least telling them we've moved to Kickstarter.

I apologize for the inconvenience of this course change. Gamedev is sometimes a messy business, and we're doing the best we can to roll with it. Although this change of venue has slightly delayed our campaign's start date, it doesn't substantially affect our production schedule or change anything about our work itself. The Deck of Possibilities™ is still on track, and I'm still eager to share more about it and to show off my specific contributions to the project.

☀️ - Ohhh I'd love to see Mossypath befriend some of her age group, especially those with a contrasting vibe - like Velvetfang, Splinterstep, or even Patchpebble👀. I live for opposites-attract kinds of bonds! Also imagine....Mossy as an honorary girl gang member. It would be both disastrous and wonderful at the same time. Canyon aside, any friendships would likely be marred by the war, but I'd love for her to bond with others some more, maybe even being best gossip buds with dear ex Koiflower owo

🌺 - Mossypath was honored for her stealth, certainty, and kind heart!

🌈 - I want Wolfmask to really put themself out there! They already have found their ideal role as monarch, but, save for Hawthornberry and temporary nursery residents, they've been kind of a shut-in, likely due to cats they've gotten particularly close to [i.e. their father and Muleheart], the cat eventually died a horrible death. They think not making deep bonds with other cats beyond the role of caretaker will spare them the heartache of loss, but they only now are realizing they're alienating themself. I want them to learn how to enjoy themself and grow close to other cats again! Also, I want them to be able to confront their feelings about the other clans more, as lately their thoughts on CreekClan have been...tainted at best, and their view on BriarClan is always fluctuating.

☘️ - Oh my goodness.....Wolfmask and Hawktail confiding in each other about their BriarClan relationships and their disastrous [in two different ways] ends, and comforting each other....the grief, and the warmth that could blossom after these two quiet fellas express themselves....It doesn't even have to be romantic, any dynamic between the two would be fascinating. On a smaller level, them and Maplesweet. The two are both so anxious and awkward, I think they could understand each other perfectly due to their similar mindsets and communication skills/lack thereof. They seem the type to find comfort in silence together.

🍁 - oh my GOD the rp where Hawthornberry comforted Wolfmask after Mule's death....I cried both reading and writing it. I love bittersweet monarch hours

Little as I talk about it here, I actually enjoy playing Destiny 2, from time to time. Also, my work demands it of me: i am an artist for VelvetFang who is creating the DungeonsandDestiny Project. So the game has a special spot in my life right now, for more than one reason. I have a striker Titan from Destiny 2 that I draw a lot in my downtime, and I think about a lot when I’m not busy doing other things. He’s pretty prominent in my DnDestiny games that I do (for both work and pleasure) so he’s just one of those guys who has a whole story, back to front. Maybe, one day, I’ll tell you all a little bit about him. For now, know that his name is Achilles-17, his ghost is Styx, and he takes great pleasure in thundercrashing into all of his enemies. He’s just a really complicated design, which means he’s taken his sweet time being translated from head to paper. He was rezzed with horns, then lost them in the Red War, then got them back. It’s a whole thing.

🌈🌲Mossypath – self-indulgent but boy howdy do I wanna see Mossy confront Fossil at some point. Mossy hasn't got too many specific personal struggles yet but that's one! I also just wanna see Mossy and Koi chat I think it'd be funny. As for ships I am still deeply fond of the idea of Pink like parent-trapping Mossy and Patch into getting together asgdjh that's My Kinda Antics!!! Besides that I'm very interested in Mossy and Velvetfang's possible dynamic, I think that could be fun, as a ship or otherwise

☘️🍃Bubblebee – I think it'd be interesting to have Bubby develop some kind of relationship with Seastar (as the cat who replaced Tarpon) and with Rayshadow (as a mostly reasonable cat but who one cares for/supports Tarpon). I just think either of them could be really interesting to interact with for Bubby considering where he's at emotionally atm! Also alt rank au where Bubby overthrows the government and becomes BUBBLESTAR

🌼☀️Mellow Flame – My brain can only produce Marshmellow and I think that's a sign that nothing better is going to come out of me on that topic. As for ideal friendships, I'd love to see Mellow befriend Smokey Orchid and some of the Marrow and Timber apprentices, like Sable and Shufflepaw! They all have such different energies but I think they could get along given a little push.

⚡️🍄Whispershriek – Whisperwatcher AU my absolute beloved. Tho if nine lives ig it'd be Whisperstar asghj absolutely lives from their dad and sister! Absolutely lives from previous leaders, I think getting lives from both Sandstar and Aspenwatcher would be super interesting given both of their effects on his life. Get a life from Grousefoot for the bf's dads blessing lmao. Maybe a life from one of the cat's they've killed just for the angst and pain of it...... As for cross-clan ships! LMAO you know I must say Smoky Bones. Whisper/White character foils my absolute beloveds. They make my heart hurt so so much I adore them and I wish things had gone differently in the past purely bc it would have spared them both a lot of heartache.

🌺Hopfeather – Her virtues were definitely along the lines of thoughtfulness/planning and faith/loyalty in TideClan!

☁️☘️Merry River – oh this boy would have been SO much happier in TimberClan GSDJH being a big strong boy is his main goal and he would have been much more confident in himself and that goal if he was born there! I definitely think he'd be less insecure if he was a TimberClan cat, JockClan has got plenty of himbos and bad shit happens to cats there all the time, so I think he'd have had less of a rough time of it accepting loss if he was brought up in an environment where you're like. actually taught to deal with it lmao. And DYNAMICS, man. If Crabclaw weren't also my own character I think he and Merry would get along great ghdj cursed myself there. But besides that, I think he and Spiderpaw would make good friends, and it'd be real fun for him to develop more of a relationship with Sorrel Jig and Vervain Vesper after those three had their Shared Traumatic Experience during the blood moon!

a few notes:

so far i have experimental designs for paloma's black cat (felicity hwang) and green goblin (nadia osborne- originally written above as norma osborn)

they both have. Very interesting relationships with paloma both in and out of costume

felicity is a model moonlighting as a thief that pulls major fashion heists. paloma pascual is one of the big names she targets

she's utterly and completely infatuated with spider-velvet and believes she can be a better lover to her

nadia osborne is the matriarch of the osborn fashion house, of which paloma was a part of before becoming an independent designer

nadia played a big part in paloma's career, acting as a mentor and mother figure to her. the two had a falling out and are now rival designers

theres a lot of very fucked up mother-daughter dynamics there that im excited to explore TEEHEE GIGGLES

speaking of fucked up!! surprise!!!!! in paloma's universe miguel is an mj variant! (miguel javier witrago-o'hara)

this miguel is actually a pretty cool person and also paloma's husband
