And as it is customary on this blog! Let's make fun of fairy queen! Tho I had loads of trouble finding photos of her? And most of the pr stuff is about the products used to do her eyebrows and her and her teams posts on ig are photoshopped soooooo not gonna use them to judge x.x

Look at the top. It's so squished and moved to one side? Apparently it's custom Pamella Roland so why it's not well fitted? Like her bust looks flattened xd and one side is almost running away lol she looks like very long rectangle with no waist even that there is the synching there lol especially the top is long like x.x her upper body looks like a square and the hairstyle ain't helping cuz her neck looks empty, naked and just weird. The cut of the bust panel and how low it sits, with the squishy squish effect, just elongated her body and basically lowered her bust lol and it ain't a good look

The kind of top layer that is over her butt is atrocious, gathered like lousy ponytail? like what for? it creates no shape or does not accentuating anything? and the piece of fabric coming out at the back looks cheap and creased... It's like a tube dress but someone decided to slap this gathering fabric on top without any structure or good idea about what they are going to do.

So, she changed her whole look and went to the vanity fair after-party. Problem is... I had the hardest time finding photos of her again x.x I found the most random pics and most random people but not fairy queen 🙊🧚🏻‍♀️ if anyone was still wondering if she relevant. I had trouble of finding her photos from two events full of photographers. Idk why, is it cuz no publication wanted to buy them or what? So ngl this one is far better than the yellow curtain from before. Is it good? Like 50/50, cuz what ye see here is not how the dress actually looks like xd first of all the dress is more of dark navy and not blackish and on the photos from inside the event it looks washed out and almost greyish?

Ye can actually see the small gatherings at the top right? So the dress is like gathered on the very top and flows from there. There is more gathering at the back and a train. It's like another layer on top. And what the dress actually is, is an 2015 McQueen from ShrimptonCouture. Cherie made a post about the dress if ye wanna see it up close!

So yep this one is better, still absolutely boring and not the most flattering when looking closer. Like honestly the photos are so overexposed that ye can't fully see the details, the layering or the gathering which are the main catching point and the it of the dress. Also! It has the same problem I had with the yellow dress, I just think it does not fit her right. When ye look up close and from the side ye can see that I think?

She looks way better, and not as much as a very long rectangle in this one. Moving onto Miu Miu who dressed three lovely ladies for the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday (February 9) in Beverly Hills, California, where they joined a host of celebrities.

Lucy Boynton: I wasn’t a fan of her Chanel look for the main event, but the reason why I love the after-parties, is that those ladies who “drop the ball” (so to speak), get a second chance. 

It worked for Gal Gadot, and it most definitely worked for Lucy who looked ever so enchanting in her soft Miu Miu multicoloured tulle gown paired with Miu Miu crystal shoes.

I love this modern fairy tale moment, even if I do wish that the eye makeup was a little softer. But considering this is her signature, I’m not that mad at it.

November 21 In 2010, days after another triumphant Oscar ceremony for Disney’s Pixar Animation Studios, John Lasseter, was the subject of a tense phone call among studio executives discussing his behavior at an Oscar party, where he French kissed and fondled a female Disney employee. The gist of the coversation was, ‘Shit, what are we going to do about John?’ Lasseter is the crazy-horny 13-year-old who you have to keep in check all the time. More than 10 current and former Disney and Pixar employees spoke about Lasseter’s behavior but asked not to be named out of fear that their careers in the tight-knit animation community would be damaged. One longtime Pixar employee says Lasseter is also known by insiders for “grabbing, kissing, making comments about physical attributes.” Female employees describe discomfort with Lasseter’s physical affection, which included close hugs, and kisses on the lips if a woman failed to turn her face in time. Lasseter liked to hug in meetings. “You’d hug him and he’d whisper in your ear, a long time. He hugged and hugged and everyone’s looking at you. Just invading the space. After one of those hugs, we’d joke to each other, ‘Boxers or briefs?’” At a recording session, a former Pixar employee described an encounter that led her to feel strange around her boss. “He leaned into my monitor and whispered into my ear, ‘You look so beautiful, that light in your eyes. It was the way a lover would talk to you. I remember him touching my back or leg or knee and just feeling … ugh.” Some women at Pixar perfected a defensive posture they called “the Lasseter” to prevent their boss from putting his hands on their legs. Two sources recounted Lasseter’s obsession with the young character actresses portraying Disney’s Fairies, a product line built around the character of Tinker Bell. At the animator’s insistence, Disney flew the women to a New York event. One Pixar employee became the designated escort as Lasseter took the young women out drinking one night, and to a party the following evening. “He was inappropriate with the fairies,” referring to physical contact that included long hugs. “We had to have someone make sure he wasn’t alone with them.” Multiple sources say Lasseter is known to drink heavily at company social events such as premiere parties, but one source says the behavior and awkward encounters were not always confined to such settings. Noting an oddly cropped photo of Lasseter standing between two women at a company function, a source explained “We had to crop it. Do you know where his hands were?” Employees claimed Lasseter often crossed boundaries with them, particularly when he had been drinking. One former male employee described traveling to a film festival with the executive and being asked to bring him to a strip club. “He’d get dances and point at me to pay for it. I was supposed to entertain him. It was so uncomfortable. He liked to have a good time. He liked his wine.” Lasseter acknowledged some “missteps” with employees and apologized in a letter for any behavior that made workers uncomfortable. “It’s been brought to my attention that I have made some of you feel disrespected or uncomfortable. I especially want to apologize to anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of an unwanted hug or any other gesture they felt crossed the line in any way, shape, or form. No matter how benign my intent, everyone has the right to set their own boundaries and have them respected.” He said he is taking a six-month leave of absence to take better care of himself, recharge and “ultimately return with the insight and perspective I need to be the leader you deserve.”

Why “Lion” Will Make Even The Most Dead Inside People Weep

There’s been a bit of breakthrough with movies in the last year. Optimism has crept back into them and it’s reflected by a few of the movies nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. Movies like “La La Land”, “Hidden Figures”, and even a sci fi flick like “Arrival” are designed to be uplifting and inspiring.

Another one of those nominated for Best Picture, “Lion”, also shoots right for the heart and this borderline fairy tale about a lost Indian boy would be tough to swallow if not for every single part of it being factual. First time director Garth Davis has taken a real life story that easily could have been simplified into a cheesy, cheap Lifetime-like tale and crafted a gorgeous to watch spectacle that shouldn’t leave anyone with dry eyes.

“Lion” begins in the India province of Khandwa in 1986. Five year old Saroo (Sunny Pawar) and his older brother, Guddu (Abhishek Bharate), scour the streets and hills of their poverty stricken town to help their mother make ends meet. Saroo talks his brother into letting him work with him at night and shortly finds himself alone at a train station in the middle of the night. After falling asleep on a train, he wakes up to find the train moving and it does not stop until he travels 1,600 miles to the massive city, Calcutta.

Saroo may as well be on another planet as he learns that his native Hindi language is not spoken in Calcutta, where they use Bengali. For two months, he lives on the street, scavenging for his food and constantly looking for a way to get to a home of which he doesn’t really know the name. Eventually, he is taken to an orphanage where he is adopted by an Australian couple, John and Sue Brierley (David Wenham and Nicole Kidman).

“Lion” then moves forward 25 years and adult Saroo (now played by Dev Patel) is set to attend hospitality school in his desire to become a hotel manager. It’s never brought up, but the desire to manage a place in which people stay while away from home is quite fitting and while at a party with classmates and his eventual girlfriend, Lucy (Rooney Mara), he learns about a new program called Google Earth.

Saroo begins his quest of scouring the train stations in India that could potentially be his home. He quickly goes from casually searching to all out obsession, which only keeps him at arm’s length from Lucy and his family.

Considering “Lion” is based on the book written by Saroo Brierley, it’s clear where the story is going. However, director Davis and screenwriter Luke Davies methodically build the story so that the emotional climax to the tale hits like a ton of bricks. It is recreated with subtlety and so much finesse that it becomes impossible not be overcome with joy.

The most deserving Oscar nomination of “Lion” goes to cinematographer Greig Fraser. The overhead shots of the terrain of Khandwa are breathtaking and when juxtaposed with the views of the crowded, insanely hectic streets of Calcutta, it places you in Saroo’s journey. His camera shots essentially become another character in “Lion” and it would almost be a crime if he were not to be rewarded for his efforts.

“Lion” also features the most subdued, non-movie star performance from Nicole Kidman in quite some time. There’s no vanity or “mom saves the day” moment from her. Her strongest acting comes when her character is at her weakest, showing the cracks and pressures of raising children that, at the end of the day, aren’t biologically hers. The strongest performances come from the two actors playing Saroo, Sunny Pawar and Dev Patel. Pawar perhaps gives the greatest child actor performance ever and Patel brings the most conflict as he battles the desire to let his birth mother know he’s alive versus alienating the people that raised him. There’s always a look in his eyes that he’s not quite in the moment and that yearning is brilliantly portrayed by Patel.

If anything, “Lion” deserves its Best Picture nomination for bringing warmth to the movie theater while showcasing the horrific conditions that thousands of Indian children live in every day. This is as much a family film as any and is one of the rare movies that could inspire people who are able to do more for those less fortunate. “Lion” is truly a can’t miss film.

Nothing Says ‘I Love You’ Like Secondhand Roses

Roses on Valentine’s Day don’t seem like such a kind gesture when you think about them getting shipped to the city on cargo planes from Ecuador, or decomposing in landfills and converting to methane gas.

So what’s a climate-conscious romantic to do?

Consider the case of Leatal Cohen, an idealistic young florist and the owner of Pic and Petal. She was hired by a man who wished to propose to his girlfriend while surrounded by hundreds of flowers. Yes, it would be beautiful and lavish. But wasteful, too. Could she temper it somehow?

“You know when you cook food, and there are leftovers, and they just go into the garbage?” Ms. Cohen said. “It just doesn’t feel good, even though you know it was enjoyed.”

So, a few hours after the newly engaged couple’s fairy tale moment, Ms. Cohen asked Aviva and Arielle Vogelstein, sisters and the founders of ReVased, which repurposes and resells slightly used floral arrangements, to dismantle and transport the 350 proposal flowers to Ms. Cohen’s apartment in Downtown Brooklyn.

There, the Vogelstein sisters paid Ms. Cohen a few hours work to help them sort through the anemone, ranunculus, delphinium, privet berry, pear flower blossom, hydrangea and garden roses, as they figured out how to create new arrangements. Some would be going to subscribers who receive a delivery once a month for $29. The rest would be donated to a Lincoln Square neighborhood center.

ReVased customers “don’t know exactly which flowers they are going to get,” said Aviva Vogelstein, who quit her job this month as a lawyer to work for the company full time. “That makes it exciting.”

Office space, scooters, and now, floral arrangements: The sharing economy has trickled down to the flower industry, with more companies across the city committed to either extending the temporary joy flowers bring or to reusing or composting them more responsibly.

After all, flowers are big business, and there’s room for growth. This year, for Valentine’s Day alone, Americans are expected to spend $2.3 billion on flowers, up from $1.9 billion last year, according to the National Retail Federation.

In a city like New York, where special events happen on a daily basis and cut flowers are in demand year-round, it was only a matter of time before eco-minded entrepreneurs saw an opportunity.

“Valentine’s Day is an incredibly wasteful holiday in terms of its environmental impact, but if you’re looking at the year as a whole, events are way worse,” said Liza Lubell, 37, who runs Peartree Flowers, which specializes in large installations.

A typical large event like a wedding or gala can produce up to 100 bags of flowers, Ms. Lubell said. “It’s not just centerpieces on a table anymore,” she continued. “The whole ceiling could be filled with flowers.”

So Ms. Lubell created a second company, Garbage Goddess, which provides eco-cleanup services for events in New York City, the Hamptons, the Hudson Valley and soon, Los Angeles. “We try to find alternative homes for everything,” she said. “We look at recycling as our last resort.” Her goal is to have less than two bags of garbage for each event.

Often, Garbage Goddess will donate event flowers to textile designers like Cara Piazza, who uses the flowers to make natural dyes in her Brooklyn studio.

“One bouquet from a wedding will get you a scarf and a kimono,” Ms. Piazza said. “I will get nine massive garbage bags full of flowers from events that will last me a month.”

“Flower repurposing is one of the biggest things happening in the events industry right now,” said Nicki Fleischner, the founder of Plan with Purpose, a website that showcases ethically-minded event vendors. “There are more companies coming out of the woodwork all the time.”

Jennifer Grove, an event planner, started Repeat Roses in 2014. Her company will pick up flowers after an event, restyle them, and transport them to a local nonprofit, like the Dwelling Place, a women’s homeless shelter and a regular recipient. When the flowers wilt, the company will deliver them to a composting facility. “To date we’ve diverted 197,137 pounds of waste from landfills,” Ms. Grove said earlier this month.

But Ms. Grove’s services aren’t cheap. Flower handling fees start at $1,750. This might explain the company’s heavy celebrity following.

Last Sunday, for example, Repeat Roses transported 590 pounds of florals from the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills to the nearby Ronald McDonald House and the East Los Angeles Women’s Center. And last February, it collected flowers from Meghan Markle’s baby shower at the Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side and took them to local charities, including the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. The flowers were later composted.

Of course, people could also forgo flowers altogether, said Elizabeth Balkan, director of the food waste program at the Natural Resources Defense Council. “We are not going to compost our way out of the flower issue, because there is still an enormous amount of resources used to create them,” she said.

In other words, why did the Duchess of Sussex, a self-proclaimed environmental advocate, have 389 pounds of flowers as part of her baby shower in the first place?

Because people love them, so to cancel them is unrealistic, said Jenny Flax, an event planner who has convinced many of her clients to use Repeat Roses for bar and bat mitzvahs. “People want to use flowers, but you can help them see how the amount of waste is alarming and what they can do to help.”

Individuals who receive flowers can do their part as well, Ms. Balkan said. “Press them, repurpose them, turn them into soap,” she said. Or refuse them altogether. “I’ve seen people give potted plants or herbs as gifts.”

Press Release:

Produced on site at the Kölnischer Kunstverein over the course of two months, Julien Ceccaldi’s Solito is a large-scale exhibition in which a fairy tale unfolds around a character of the same name, a concupiscent and boyish 30-year-old virgin willing to give himself to anybody. The plot is inspired by stories such as “Beauty and the Beast“, “Bluebeard“, and “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King“, in which the female protagonists end up in love with ugly men, and sexuality manifests itself through power and violence. However, all Solito gets out of his unsightly, quickly aborted love story, is a fading souvenir of happiness. Misery is all the more evident in the comic book published by Ceccaldi for this exhibition. In what could be interpreted as a dream of his own doing, the titular character goes so far as to make advances to death itself. He follows Oscar, a soldier from a magical land who is nothing more than “a cadaver, an empty shell [he] projects on” (J. Ceccaldi). Solito is presented as ambivalent: Desperate for partnership and security, he also acts masochistically in that he orchestrates a self-fulfilling destiny of being forever rejected. He plays with the dead like one does with dolls, and dreams of an eternal tea party with skeletons, all the while unconsciously wishing they would turn on him. Betraying their trust ultimately gets him thrown back onto the cold sidewalk of the real world – an allusion to “The Little Match Girl” by Hans-Christian Andersen, one of the most prominent fairy tale writers. Ceccaldi took descriptions of the author’s life as a template for Solito’s character traits. Andersen never engaged in sexual relations with women nor men, indulging in intense masturbation after each encounter instead. Described as childish and love-obsessed in equal measures, he was considered an outsider and a loner within the Copenhagen elite of the 19th century, and he died alone at the end of his days. His original tales were perverse and morbid; his suffering heroines often dying a painful death. Later adaptations of his more tragic stories have been rewritten with a happy ending. Further aesthetic and conceptual references can be found in the animation TV-series “Revolutionary Girl Utena” (1997) by Kunihiko Ikuhara, and the manga “The Rose of Versailles” (1972) and “Oniisama E” (1975) by Riyoko Ikeda, which weave together fairytale symbols, androgyny, and inescapable fates along with modern backdrops and contemporary preoccupations. The exhibition also borrows from these works the liberty to blend myths from different places across history from the Middle Ages, to 19th century Europe and our present time. These different starting points establish the framework for the figures and setting in Solito, which are transferred onto various surfaces both inside and outside the exhibition spaces: animated video loops, sculptures, digital drawings, and paintings on plastic. The works no longer follow a consistently linear narrative as on the pages of the book. Inspired by cel art, a technique used in animation to separate backgrounds from foregrounds, images of different moods manifest themselves through overlays, off-sets, and trompe l’œil effects. They circulate around the figure of Solito, with whom visitors get closer to as they walk through the exhibition hall. Like the fragmented pieces that come together to form identity itself, repeated variations of the same figure elicit feelings of vanity and confinement, but also moments of emancipatory liberation.

Julien Ceccaldi created the comic book Solito especially for the exhibition [36 pages, edited by Nikola Dietrich, September 2018]. It can be purchased at a price of €12 (members €8).

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's romance: Where did it go wrong?

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum announced on Monday that they have “lovingly chosen to separate” after nearly nine years of marriage. It’s a split that has taken fans by surprise and is considered to be on the more shocking end of the spectrum of celebrity breakups.

Or is it?

People reports the couple has been separated for months and their separation has been “a long time coming,” according to one insider. So where did it all go wrong? From the outside, it looked as if the fun-loving couple had it all: a beautiful family, successful careers, and great chemistry.

The pair met on set of the 2006 film Step Up, and according to Jenna, it was Channing who made the first move.

“[Channing] had gone out with all the dancers on Step Up, and he had this crazy, wild tequila night,” she recalled to Ellen DeGeneres. “He said he had the chance ‘to be free’ and he couldn’t stop thinking about me. So he comes down to my hotel room at two in the morning, and he’s banging on the door, and I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ So I go and open the door, and he’s in a sombrero, underwear, Ugg boots, and he’s like, ‘Let’s do this.’”

However, Channing later revealed it was his better half who knew he was “the one” first — stripper past and all.  (The actor admitted he told Jenna about his former job during one of their first dinners.)

“Our connection was really powerful, but I wasn’t sure what our relationship was going to be,” he told Cosmopolitan. Clearly, that changed. “One day, Jenna just blurted out that she knew exactly what she wanted in life and she didn’t have to look for it anymore because it was me.”

He added, “She had no idea what I’d say or how I’d react, but that was her truth. … It was the sexiest thing she’d ever done for me. I felt strength, because in that moment, she had accepted every part of me, the good and the bad. That radical authenticity of hers was what made me fall head over heels in love.”

The co-stars eventually tied the knot in July 2009 in Malibu, California. Dewan’s bridal party included maid of honor, Entourage star Emmanuelle Chriqui, and bridesmaid Haylie Duff. Marlon Wayans was one of the 220 guests in attendance.

The Tatums continued to find success in Hollywood, with Jenna landing TV roles (The Playboy Club, American Horror Story) and Channing focusing on film. But in 2012, his career was catapulted to the next level with box-office hits like The Vow, 21 Jump Street, and Magic Mike, and he was on his way to becoming one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood. He was also crowned People‘s 2012 Sexiest Man Alive. The actor talked to the magazine about how he and Jenna handle being apart with busy schedules.

“We’ve both been working a lot, which is awesome, but we have a two-week rule, three max,” he revealed. “I have a hard time actually seeing her on, like, FaceTime — it makes me miss her more and I start pouting.”

Dewan was proud of her hubby’s honor telling the magazine, “People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don’t know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is. He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get.”

The couple ended 2012 on a high note as Dewan was pregnant with their first child. Although Channing said he wanted to take a break from acting in 2013, his career didn’t slow down.

“You have to want it,” Channing told Cosmopolitan about how they make their relationship work. “Jenna’s and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like, ‘On a scale from one to 10, how much do you love me right now?’ And you gotta be honest, and you’ve got to want an honest answer.” 

The pair welcomed daughter Everly in May 2013 in London, where Channing was filming Side-Effects. After filming wrapped it was the actor’s turn to take a pause and let his wife work, something she said he was happy to do as she started filming the Lifetime show Witches of East End in Vancouver months later.

“He is getting really good at being the set husband — that’s what I call him,” she told ET Canada. “He’s in the trailer, he’s rocking her to sleep, I’m running back and forth breastfeeding… He’s been amazing — every chance he gets he’s here. He’s like, ‘I could sit here and be set husband all day long. This is so fun!’”

Practically every interview thus far with Channing or Jenna was upbeat and painted the picture of a perfect Hollywood couple. But in 2014, the actor got real in GQ admitting his baby girl helped him cut back on his drinking.

“I probably drink too much, you know,” he admitted. “My wife, that’s what she bought into.… I’m probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess.”

Tatum said he liked how booze slowed down his mind. “There’s probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time.” He added that nothing makes you cut back like having a baby, and how he won’t drink for months on set. “Then, at the end of that movie,” he said, “it’s go time.”

Having a baby changed the actor in many ways. For one, he said he thought more about what projects to take on. “Is this worth taking time away from them?… Having a family and a little girl, it really makes things super clear,” he told People in 2015. “None of this is easy but at the same time it’s everything I would have ever wanted.”

Of Jenna he added, “We’re a good support system for each other… We keep pushing each other to grow and be better. I don’t think I could do it any other way [than with her].”

What they were doing seemed to be working. In 2016, the couple celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary with sweet — and sexy — posts.

The Tatums always made it clear they had the sexy part of their relationship down. “I’ve always been a very sexual person,” Dewan told Cosmo. “Something about being a dancer connects you to your physical body. It’s primal, earthy, sexual energy by nature. You feel your body in a certain way. Channing is very much the same way. He’s very in tune with that.”

Last year, she also revealed that they didn’t schedule sex.

“We are not sex schedulers — not yet! Give us a couple more years. Maybe with child number two,” Dewan told Redbook. “There’s a beauty in being two busy people because we get a lot of time to miss each other. To continue to miss someone after so many years is kind of a blessing in disguise.”

She continued, “I think all women should keep it exciting for themselves. People always ask, ‘Do you do anything to keep it fresh for your man?’ I hate that question. I’m like, ‘No. Why is it for your man? I do things to keep it fresh for myself. The lingerie I buy is not for him necessarily. It’s for us and for myself.’ If you feel sexy, then it’s good for you.”

During that 2017 interview, she cited communication as being their biggest relationship challenge. “You change when you’re together from 25 to 35. I think maybe in my early 20s, I might have tiptoed around issues or didn’t want to make too many waves,” she said. “Now it’s like, ‘This is how I’m feeling.’ You have to be okay with the other person becoming defensive, to let them be emotional and accept that it won’t be okay for a while.”

Perhaps this was the first sign the couple faced challenges behind closed doors. If many of the reports out there are to be believed, Channing and Jenna started drifting apart around this time last year. Still, you wouldn’t have known it as the pair attended various red carpet events throughout 2017 and had gushy social media posts.

Whispers of trouble in paradise didn’t ramp up until this year. “When people say you guys have such a perfect life, I want to scream and tell them no one’s perfect,” Dewan told Health for their March cover story. “I think there are such things as great fits. It is a great fit as long as you are growing together, and I think up until this point we’ve really grown together. Even if one starts to grow, the other catches up and vice versa.”

Dewan attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party solo; however, she downplayed the evening as a girls’ night. The Tatums offset that appearance with a family outing to the Kids’ Choice Awards this month — which even marked Everly’s first public event.

They also put on a united front on social media.

That’s why it was surprising when, on Monday, the pair announced their separation themselves by posting joint statements on their social media accounts.

It hasn’t even been 24 hours and there are multiple reports out there claiming to know what caused their split. Entertainment Tonight has sources pointing to Channing’s alleged flirting and Dewan’s supposed possessiveness as contributing factors. Meanwhile, Page Six claims it’s work commitments that drove them apart. Sounds like we won’t know if these are all “alternative facts” unless the couple comments again.
