He was back at it again.

The mysterious boy whose name you still didn’t know.

He was back at your little flower shop, perusing the flowers with fingers holding his chin, violet eyes scanning the petals. He was your age and dressed immaculately in a pair of pressed white trousers that matched his hair, a black button-down, and a vest with a long white overcoat over his arm.

He had been here for the last five days, sometimes with his raven-haired friend, who looked less than pleased to be there. Occasionally, he would have a little book in hand, flipping through the pages whenever he stumbled upon a flower he didn’t recognize.

Every time you approached him, he’d get flustered and hide his book, saying he was “just looking for now” and didn’t need any help.

Eventually, he approaches you, a question in his eyes and a friendly smile on his lips.

“What do these flowers mean?” He asks, and you look up from your inventory book, taking in the small bouquet of flowers in his hand.

Apple blossoms. Preference.

Pansies. You occupy my thoughts.

Together? Thinking of you.

“Apple blossoms mean preference. Pansies mean you occupy my thoughts. Together they mean thinking of you.” You explain, and the young man nods as he takes in the information. His smile turns warm.

“I’ll take them!” You smile and wrap the flowers up in a silken ribbon and some brown paper.

“Are they for a special someone?” You ask, and his brain seems to stall before his cheeks flush, and he shrugs,

“Something like that.” He says as his fingers brush yours while taking the bouquet. You smile at him, and his cheeks darken slightly,

“How much do I owe you?” He stutters, and your own smile widens,

“It’s on the house. Consider it a thank you for brightening my day.” You say, and he looks like he’s about to say something when his friend calls loudly from the door that he’s waiting to leave.

The bouquet shows up on your flower shop porch a day later. Tied in the same silken ribbon and sitting pretty in a glass vase that looks like a swan.

Was it from him?

Part of you hoped so.

It was safe to say you had a little crush.

You didn’t see the young man for weeks after. But another bouquet shows up six days later.

A gathering of lilacs, tulips, and buttercups.

Lilacs. “First love.”

Tulips. “I declare my love for you.”

Together they meant being in love for the first time.

You hoped it was him.

The young man shows up in your shop three weeks after purchasing the flowers and (hopefully) dropping them off on your doorstep. He looks sheepish, ruffling a hand through his alabaster strands and removing his white tophat. He sheds his long overcoat and leaves both his hat and coat on the new coat rack you had just installed.

“Back again?” You say, and he freezes, almost tripping over his step.

“You remember me?” He asks, and you grin,

“You are pretty memorable.” Is all you say.

He meanders through the shop and picks out a few flowers before returning to the front counter with his choices.

Buttercups. “You are radiant with charm.”

Cowslips. “Winning grace.”

Together they meant “Newfound affection.”

You hold back a flustered smile as you wrap up the flowers and hand them to him.

Only for him to hand them back.

You pause, confusion evident on your face, and the young man turns his head away to hide his flushed cheeks.

“They’re for you. You know what they mean, right?” He mumbles, and your flustered smile erupts onto your face.

“Yes. I know what they mean. But why?” You ask, and he turns to look at you, obviously fighting the blush warming his face.

“I was hoping… well… I was hoping to take you out to dinner sometime… If you’ll let me.” He says, and you have to stop yourself from squealing.

“I don’t even know your name.” You find yourself saying, and his eyes widen before he smacks his forehead. You flinch at the action and almost drop the flowers.

“My name is Noé Archiviste. May I have your name?” He replies, and you bury your mouth in the flowers to hide the smile growing. You introduce yourself, and he smiles that smile that got your heart racing when you first saw him.

“And what makes you think I’ll accept Mr. Noé Archiviste?” You tease, and his smile turns mischievous.

“Well… I’ve heard that the universe loves a stubborn heart. And I would really really like to take you out somewhere. Even if it’s just a night on the town one time.” He says, extending a hand to you.

You find yourself taking his hand, almost hiding your face in the flowers when he raises your hand to his lips and presses a gentle kiss to it.

“How does tonight sound?” You say and he grins,

“Perfect.”

Lets rate Vanitas no carte characters ! [First the "objective" version and then my point of view x)] (Btw I cant do all VNC characters bc it'll be too long TwT)

Vanitas:

Objective: 7/10

Bad side:

•He has a bad temper, doesn't care about anyone and doesn't think about others (at least that's what he shows) he's stubborn and doesn't really think.

Good side:

•He is very kind and always helpful, he protects those he loves, does not like someone being hurt by his fault.

Bad/Good side

•He doesn't really show affection for what he likes but I think that's because he himself hasn't really received affection.

I rate him as a 9/10 [and he's handsome ✨️]

Noe:

Objective: 9/10

Bad side:

•I saw that many VNC fans find him too whiny or caring. Also, he is still far too traumatized with Louis, it can make him cry anytime compared to Vanitas who has a more traumatic past and who shows it less.

Good side:

•He doesn't like violence and always tries to settle things by talking with these enemies. He caring for those he loves, he is very kind.

Bad/Good side:

•he acts childish very often and is very stubborn in his own way.

I rate him as a 11/10 (XD) [Seriously I love him sm and Im sure he love Vanitas, but he can be cruel towards him]

Jeanne:

Objective: 8/10

Bad side:

•As a "Bourreau" she can be very (too much) violent and brutal. she does not know what to do when she receives affection. She has a complicated past that can affect her present. [I know that's not a bad side but I hate her romantic/lover side]

Good side:

•She protects Luka and the others at the cost of her life, and very helpful and kind ! She's strong as f*ck ! She's a great woman [when she's not romantic with Vanitas! :')]

Good/Bad side:

•She always feels obligated to protect others, as she is indebted to them.

I rate her as a 4/10 [bc she's strong, very pretty and kind. But I don't like her at all. First cause she love Vanitas and its boring, second cause I still dont know if Noe had a crush on her XD But she's a good characters]

Dominique:

7or8/10

Bad side:

•Her past and Louis continue to haunt her and it's complicated for her. She would agree to kill herself so that Noe would no longer have to worry about her.

Good side:

•She's strong and cool ! A real girl boss ! She took care of Jeanne, and accepted Vanitas in her life. She became "friend" with Mikhail too Lmao 💀

Good/Bad side:

•SHE IS TOO STICKY WITH NOE ! It would be great if she would stop caring about Noe. And that goes for him too x)

I rate her as a 9/10 cause she's my Girlboss 😩 [The only thing I don't like is his too sticky side towards Noe]

Louis:

6/10

Bad side:

•He is certainly nice towards his sister and Noe, but he can be rather cruel sometimes. He keeps these problems to himself (which will cost him his death) and he too easily accepts the death of these "cursed" friends [and then he is monotes x)]

Good side:

•He is still nice to Noe and Domi, he acts like their big brother and protects them, he can be cute sometimes. He is very smart and cultivate.

Bad/Good side:

•He makes jokes that make Noe and Domi cry, and doesn't assume afterwards XD

I rate him as a 8/10 ! [I love him, he's literally Domi's male version x)]

Mikhail:

6or7/10

Bad side:

•He is extremely cruel, and does not hesitate to want to sacrifice Domi ! He forced Noe to drink his blood, and Vanitas blood. The battle between Vanitas and Noe is literally because of him :')

Good side:

•He likes nice people and adores his big brother Vanitas. He didn't really want to hurt Domi. He acts like a kid (he's literally a kid) He want the Blue moon vampire came back for have a normal family again.

Good/Bad side:

•He's too obsessed with his brother it gets weird XD He's also not at all brave and very crybaby unlike Vanitas, as seen in his past in the lab.

I rate him as a 8/10 [He's too cute and Crazy, he's my child 😭🥲]

hello! can i have a case study of vanitas matchup? i’m bisexual but i prefer men and use she/her pronouns.

personality: i’m an isfp. i’m a bit reserved at first and it takes a while for me to trust people, but once i do i’m a bit more free spirited. i’m passionate, creative, independent, stubborn, and curious. i’m very protective over the people i care about. my sense of humor is sarcastic and i like teasing people. i love reading, martial arts (i really like training with weapons and fighting), writing, piano, theater, art, singing, watching tv (mainly anime), and nature. i dabble in video games but only every now and then because i suck- like a lot. music is a really big part of my life. my favorite genres are indie, soundtracks/movie scores, and rock. whenever someone mentions something i like i’ll start rambling and get carried away. my love language is a mix of intellect, quality time, and acts of service. touch is reserved for very few people and mostly in private.

appearance: i’m 5 ft tall, tan skin, dark brown eyes, and soft facial features. i have thick black shoulder length hair and choppy bangs. i wear 1-2 strands of hair in small braids. my aesthetic is mainly citycore/academia but sometimes i’ll mix it up depending on my mood. I like to wear gold jewelry, especially rings. I don’t really wear makeup but every now and then I’ll so some simple eyeliner. i really enjoy dressing up.

So the two of you initially meet at a cafè!! Noé accidentally spills his cake on your lap, and after profusely apologizing and offering to buy you new clothes, you both become tentative friends! It does take you a while to trust Noé, but he has a certain charm about him that helps you trust him a bit quicker than you usually would. That, and he is overall pretty trustworthy and a great friend :)

Noé loves all sides of you! I think the only time you two really argue about anything is when you are both being overly stubborn about something. But your curiosity and passionate side are endearing to him! He likes to take you to museums and on little outings to just spend time with you all over Paris (if he isn’t busy helping Vanitas, of course)! The two of you also spend a lot of time around the piano. You wouldn’t guess it, but Noé is actually pretty good at playing! So duets between the two of you become a commonality in your free time!

Also, Noé is like—6 foot 1”, I think? Anyway, he’s a foot taller than you at least and will tease you about your shortness sometimes, but overall, he tends to keep your relationship pretty light-hearted. His love language is probably quality time or physical touch, so be prepared for hugs once you are comfortable enough with it!
