Gate is opened briefly, just long enough for Marcel to get inside, and a body is dropped with a thud onto the stone floor. Right in front of Tobias. They really only have Klaus to thank for this, because who taught him everything he knows? Who made him into what he is, into who he is?

Klaus.

“Before you try to rip me to shreds — he isn’t dead.” And for all his boasting, all his bravado, the reason for that still remains a sentimental one. Marcel will take that knowledge to his nonexistent grave, though. “Just taking a painful little nap. You remember what that Tunde blade feels like, right?” A smile, and Marcel gestures around them. “Looks like the Mikaelsons finally lost. So what are you gonna do, Tobias? Because you can’t stay here. Having you around would make this prison sentence feel like a vacation to Klaus. But I can’t have you lurking around New Orleans trying to break him out, either.”

The door to her parents' bedroom is opened without knocking, as she doesn't expect anyone to be there. Ase is immediately frozen in place as she stares at her mother, seeing the smile on Tobias's face and feeling a sense of warmth invade her chest for once. Anxiety eases for just a few moments before words are spilling out of her mouth.

"Oh! I -- I didn't think you'd be home yet! I'm sorry!" She is clutching another note, along with a box of vintage crystal alcohol tumblers. She holds them out to Tobias. "Ursa shattered father's glasses in the library. These are all I could find to replace them...I'm sorry..." Ase averts her eyes from them before she continues. "I hope you like the shirts...I tried to fold them like you do."

"Why don't you go ahead and tell me what you're planning with Beatrice," Klaus begins, as he steps into the library and immediately pours himself a glass of scotch like he hasn't been gone for nearly two days. Perhaps if he acts like nothing happened, Tobias won't be upset with him. He just needed some air. "It's most likely pointless, anyway. My fate has been decided for my by my worthless brother."

"Sweetheart -- the toddlers might have flushed your cigarettes down the toilet." A pause, and a sigh, before Klaus places a hand on their shoulder. "And by 'toddlers,' I mean Ursa."

Bee is exhausted. She feels like she could fall asleep at any moment, which isn't normal for her, but it's not like she'll die from whatever it is. It makes sense, considering the amount of effort she put into removing the curse from her siblings' blood, but somehow Bee still feels like she should have been able to handle it all. It's upsetting her that she isn't.

She's lost in these thoughts when she hears Tobias enter the kitchen, and she immediately groans dramatically and drops her head onto the marble island in front of her. "Am I dead? I feel like I should be." Lifting her head again to look at them, Bee is about to say something else, but she feels warm liquid spilling from her nose, and immediately stands up from the kitchen island. "What the fuck?" She speaks louder than she probably should, considering her siblings are sleeping. But she brings her fingers up to her nose, and finds blood there, then immediately grabs a towel from a drawer to soak up whatever else spills out.

She sighs. "Great. I was supposed to see Artemis tonight, but how can I do that when I'm literally falling the fuck apart?"

pardon me? hello? they're running low on attention ? tall vampire lurking for 500cc of hybrid attention.

i'm gonna write a drabble about this but a few notes for family business verse in the last few eps of season two of the originals:

everything happens somewhat normally; dahlia's firstborn curse resets every 1000 years, which brings her to nola to attempt to take hope as she is klaus's firstborn child of the new millennium. (this is stated in my bio for beatrice as well)

klaus does not go off the deep end until dahlia kills tobias (@vampfrey) and at this point, klaus has no idea that tobias cannot be killed like a normal vampire, so he (along with everyone else) genuinely thinks they are permanently dead.

it takes a lot more self control for him not to attack dahlia after this, and for him to fake being on her side, but he does get in a few passive aggressive jabs at her for killing tobias.

dahlia's intention with killing tobias is to show klaus that no one is safe from her, that it would be easier for him to simply give in to her demands, and that tobias was a distraction for klaus anyway. she says he needs to focus on raising his child instead of obsessing over them.

while klaus is double-crossing dahlia, he still blames everyone else as well as dahlia for tobias's death, and still thinks that he is the only person that can keep hope safe.
