Even at social gatherings from time to time, he drank his share. This time, he just drank a bit too much. Some other people around already moved away, sensing the sheer bad vibes coming off of him. He stood there with his third glass emptied, just staring into it.

He looked up when he heard her address him and made a face at Eveen. He just scoffed, " Fuck off.... 'm not drunk, " he mumbled, clearly very drunk like the lightweight he is.

Candles left an adequate glow where he set them center of dining table. Laying out silverware for the meal he cooked, the executive pursed lips, glaring at his cell phone. Ringing in the middle of this quick romantic dinner left him sour. He finally got away from their bullshit. If it’s any other time he might be lenient. This isn’t work hours. 

He can’t even put together a surprise for his girlfriend. Hopefully tonight Eveen will be more than that. The box he kept in his pocket held the diamond he had been hoarding since last week.

Caleb Stern the marrying kind? It would make several people laugh he’s sure. Ex-girlfriends most likely, his brother in total shock that he’d think of proposing but Connor should know by now. She’s different. He loves her. 

Shutting his phone off and adjusting the tie around his collar he made sure to look presentable. Any moment now and he’s oddly nervous. A man like him isn’t used to this. He’s not used to being in  a serious relationship until finally falling hard. 

Grabbing several plates and setting them out rushed his table set up last minute. Realizing the baked ziti chimed finished in the oven, Caleb used a mitt to remove the glass dish. He set it center between the candles giving off that low light making things smoky. Just a bottle of wine needed to be popped but he had to toss the mitt back towards kitchenette as he heard someone. 

“I hope you’re hungry, Eve. I thought you’d like a nice evening together. Just you and myself. Compliments of the chef.”

No. Nothing at all could ever befall his Eveen because he told her once before he would never let it happen. Connor has seen a bruise once before. Fresh at the time, she never once mentioned her father -

The android could feel the burn of anger within his system. Everything he ever promised her shattered at the admittance of pain inflicted by her own parent. He felt like he failed. He never thought he would want to kill someone without regret so quickly but Connor’s focus on those words fell just as swiftly.

"I-” He paused, narrowing eyes briefly at Eveen. “What were you saying, Sunshine?” 

🐈 “Lotus, I found a little friend in the ally behind my building!”

Lotus’s gasp is loud, followed with a happy grin. Scratching the ears of the purring kitten, she coos.

“Ohh, hi there, baby! Were you left all alone? Poor thing...”

She looks up at Eveen, her gratitude shining in her smile. “I’ll take care of him, Eve. Thanks for bringing him to me.”

Alex likes driving outside of Detroit to somewhere she can really see the stars sometimes.

Connor returned the smile and leaned down kissing her cheek gently, “Eve, you are always so kind. Thank you.”

He took her hand gently into his own and kissed that as well, “You see something good in me and thats enough.”

She managed a laugh through her tears, wiping her eyes yet again. “I... I know... I know I’m being stupid... I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable... I’ll... do my best to stop....” She looked up at him, doing her best to give him a quiet smile. She was horribly embarrassed, why did she always end up acting like such a child? Why was she always afraid of things that didn’t matter at all?

He flexed his neck slightly to the side, humming a bit. This was getting out of hand really quick and he really didn't even fully understand why. He shook his head slowly and just turned away, grabbing his jacket, " You know... I'm just going to go. Just... Just forget it, " he out his jacket on with a sigh as he walked to the door.

Handsome is subjective. That he understands from particular tastes in what is pleasant to the naked eye. They do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Eveen still felt a bit shy walking around and actively hosting a tea party, but she forced herself to approach a pretty lady, smiling and offering her delicate mini cakes on a tray to the stranger. “H...Hello... would you like one..? Um.. also... thank you for coming...”

“Oh, thank you!” She smiles up at the girl, never one to turn down food. “And thanks for inviting me.”

Not only are the mini cakes adorable, but they’re delicious as well. Not too sweet and overwhelming for her taste buds. Lotus nods her approval.

“They’re really good! Did you make them yourself?”

She’s never really learned how to bake. She wonders if she can start now, but she’s not sure if she’ll have the time.

|| Eve wouldn’t handle Parker’s death very well. She’d be in shreds every day to the point of not being able to work for something close to a year. She would just go dead when she isn’t in pain. ||

// oof yeah I can’t imagine the pain and grief poor Eve would feel if Parker died. Little Connor here was her adopted son after all. Who would react well to losing their kid? Even more so if it was unexpected which I imagine it would be as it’s not like androids could get terminal illnesses....Connor (the RK800 Connor) would be sooo fucking torn up as well. Again just like Eve took him in as son he too took the younger version of him as his own child. He’d fall into an awful and even dangerous depression. And he can’t even turn to alcohol like Hank did with Cole. He has to live day in and out with nothing to dull the memories or pain...
