Yesterday I romped a solo hike up one of my all time favorite creeks in utah. A place I have only ever seen from a kayak. I'd heard that there were some major log jams making it impassable to boaters. Figured I'd see for myself. I was in awe of the size of a few of them. Likely some of the biggest I've ever seen. I think she still goes with some mandatory portages. Pictured here is one of the drops at the upper end of the section. It's a fast paced hit when the water is high but on this day I was so lucky this cascade as well as the entire canyon to myself... save for the massive bull moose elk I stumbled upon. Makes me pray for snow and dream of spring. If your wondering where this is don't ask.
