Data Bubble (2005) by iRobot, Bedford, MA. Data Bubbles are robot buoys that can be dropped off in the ocean, where they sit on the bottom and passively listen for the noises made by submarines. If they detect something, they pop up to the surface and activate their radio beacon, allowing groups of them to create a breadcrumb trail giving away the passage of the submarine.

Ranger's propeller is mounted on an articulated nozzle, providing vectored thrust. Designed for short range missions, Ranger can easily be launched and recovered by one person from a Rugged Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB).
