althea christine heart, best known as thea, was born in beaufort, south carolina on september 17th, 1999. her father inherited the family business of the heart stables alongside the breeding and selling of purebred horses.
the middle and only daughter of five. up until she was twelve when her parents adopted a newborn baby girl.
she was raised in a loving environment. her momma worked in the local elementary school as a first grade teacher and her pops' business was well enough that he was always around.
growing up, she was always a very soft spoken and sweet little thing. ( head cannon she's short aIGHT I'M SHORT SO my muses suffer too ) nobody in beaufort dared to touch william heart's baby girl and her brother's were intimidating enough that the southern belle was protected from harm.
her best friend was her next door neighbor. both little girls were tied at the hip from the moment that the other's dad became a business partner and moved in next door. that was during the rough time, when thea's father's business hit rock bottom and they weren't doing so well. their partnership not only saved the business but gave althea a best friend.
when althea was twelve, little angela heart came into their lives. her mother was a teen who had gotten pregnant off her first time and refused to keep her baby. it was one of those moments where the southern family swore it was meant to be. they had gone to the hospital for the youngest heart son after his fever wouldn't lessen and instead were filing adoption papers for the new born baby who's mom decided last minute that she didn't want her.
unfortunately, at the age of two, baby angel was diagnosed with arrhythmia a condition in which the heart beat has an abnormal rhythm. this can cause the heart to pump less efficiently. three months after being diagnosed, her heart gave out.
devastated by the loss of their youngest family member, the hearts packed up and left. thea's father had expanded his stables to california and had no problem leaving the beaufort stables to his partner. gathering the hearts, they left the town that held nothing but grief and thus althea began high school in california.
here, she stood out like a sore thumb. her accent stood out, her innocence was clearer than day and her excelling grades kept her in the limelight. not to mention that she would eventually pick cheerleading back up.
so yeah here she is in yale pursuing a degree in social work and being a lil angel with somewhat a bit of sass because being best friends with asher montgomery gave her some spark okay please plot with my southern belle i promise we’ll love you.

dorothea and fawley were two...somewhat, in love, folks--who had really wanted to have a child of their own. when they did, finally, have their child--he was very sickly and small and neither of them wanted their child to be weak goddammit
so they did a switcharoo, like...switched at birth except i’ve never ever seen switched at birth, and ran off with this extremely rich family’s newborn baby instead!
dorothea and fawley were part of a circus, and thus, lil benjy was raised in a circus !! how cute.
needless to say he was raised in a very nontraditional setting, like, homeboy was homeschooled bc they were literally always travelling, around the country and once or twice out of country.
despite that, he never doubted that his circus family didn’t love him or anything like ?? yeah he never called his ‘parents’ mom or dad, but that’s bc it was like...everyone was his parent.
dorothea and fawley told benjy that his name will never define him, and he could be anyone or anything he wants to be.
this caused a tiny benjy to be CONSTANTLY changing his name. like, almost everyday he’d just declare a new name and everybody in the circus would call him that specific name. even when he did acts, he’d go by a different name every single time
this carried onto adulthood and benjy still doesn’t tell people his real name very often. sometimes they’re sort of normal names n other times they’re fucking bizarre.
when he was seven he declared his name was ‘sock’ for an entire month.
grew up doing a buncha odd lil jobs and roles in the circus, from being a lil handyman like fawley to being a magician’s assistant like dorothea. t’was a lil tiny animal tamer (before the circus stopped using animals in their acts because we don’t stan circuses like that no we do NOT) at some point but reeeaaally liked tightrope walking and things as such

this came as a shock to everybody involved, honestly, though tbh ? benjy didn’t care that much that he had parents who weren’t the circus, but that’s bc of his entire upbringing.
either way his birth parents wanted to like. y’know. meet their delinquent biological son and when they did they were like ‘woah woah woah wtf ur in a circus’ and he was like haha yeah
n that was...sort of it, for a while. benjy was 18, had his GED, n wasn’t planning on going to college at all.
the circus was still traveling, the world was all right, etc. etc, benjy maintained contact with his bio parents bc it was Polite to do
and then the circus burned down! somebody did a flaming knife trick when they weren’t supposed to and, long story short--the entire circus went up in flames. there were no victims, no worries, but their entire livelihood was gone and they were all effectively displaced.
when his Rich Biological Parents found out about benjy’s newfound predicament that he 100% was not responsible for whatsoever, they were like . . . . listen. we’ve got a Reputation to uphold, but we’ll send you to college.

he met a gal going by the name dinah during a track meet the middle of his freshmen yr
she was taking photos for the yearbook and stuttered over her words more often than not, even when she teased william
and like...tbh? william adored her immediately
it really wasn’t soon at all until they started dating, like, they were the high school couple
they complimented each other v v well and were prolly always together lbr
i’m hc’ing that his family also adored dinah like it’s law
dinah is the one who like...really encouraged him to pursue writing as something more serious than just for fun, because will had always enjoyed writing--esp poetry--but he didn’t want it to get in the way of his future w the stables ??
and like...fuck, they were so cute, guys. they were so mf cute.
dinah got diagnosed w/ lung cancer in the beginning of their junior year; she began online school halfway thru b/c she didn’t have the energy physically to go to class, went thru a looot of chemo
william was with her the entire time, y’know, if he wasn’t in school or at track he’d probably be with her the most, trying to cheer her up in the ways he could, helped her study for their SATs bc he knew it was rly important to her
by the summer she was in remission and they thought that was it--still super fucking careful, but they really genuinely thought that that was the end of it y’know ?? that she’d just be better ??
they got into a few months of senior year with her being healthy enough to go to school again, but the further time passed...dinah relapsed, rapidly, and the cancer had spread to other parts of her body
they spent their last valentine’s day in the hospital, and the next day she was gone
it...crushed william, just kind of changed his life, y’know? dinah was all he knew and he really didn’t know how to live w/o her
spent a lot of his time locked away in his room or never even home to begin with, just wandering about hopelessly or sleeping, or trying to sleep that is
poured his heart into his poetry, though--in dinah’s honor, he tried so mf hard to keep doing what he loved even though he was so hurt
it was because of his constant hard work, and dinah’s past encouragements, that william entered and won a poetry contest during his senior year. got a hella scholarship that made everybody proud of him, just b/c he was ~defying odds~
kinda put on this mask so that others wouldn’t see how bad he was doing ?? b/c he’s the level-headed brother, y’kno, the one who always had his shit together and knew what he was doing
dinah and william won cutest couple and even prom king n queen as a sort of tribute to dinah but will didn’t even go to prom tbh he got drunk and threw cans of beer off of a cliff
anyways, he graduated high school n attended ucla bc that was his dad’s school and gdi he’s tryn his best to follow in his footsteps
even got into his dad’s frat b/c he was that determined
he didn’t rly partake much in parties but he did indulge every once in a while, y’know, just to do it, was finally getting his shit back together and doing well for once y’know?? he joined track n took it p seriously
when angela heart died, all of that fell apart again
he took an entire year off of school b/c at that point his mental health had taken a really bad turn, depression was sort of controlling his life and he was spiraling so mf far down that he sometimes couldn’t recognize himself
during that time he published his first and second poetry book under w.c. heart; it’s super morbid, depressing, you can pretty much feel his depression as it manifests in the pages. it begins with poetry from his earlier years, of when he was with dinah and then afterwards, when she dies
the second poetry book is about healing, and then how sometimes you can fall back even when you’re doing good (i.e. around the time lil baby angel died)
when he finally did go back to school he had a much better mindset, seemed to be doing well--was one of the best on the track team--partied a little harder, did drugs more often than usual but nothing too extreme y’know ??
his junior year he got into a p bad car accident n derailed into a body of water after crashing his side of the car into another and losing control of his vehicle
like honestly thank god for the stranger who immediately stopped their car and went totally-hero on the situation, they got william out of the car before he could drown and essentially saved his life, before calling 911 and just. disappearing as soon as the sirens were audible
somehow his left leg got mc’fucked in the incident and it just so happened to ruin his track career
also gave william a fear of swimming/deep water + driving. like. he never wants to be in control of a car again. it really added onto his anxiety and was probably the root of his panic disorder tbh
he took another year off of school to recover from his injuries and to just fucking...put himself in some therapy, because he knows. when it’s time to take care of himself. is really still determined to b the best, he’s just trying to take his time now.
got addicted to painkillers b/c of the injury, sought them out after his prescription ran out; it varies between oxy, vicodin, n percocets and like...they mix really badly w/ his antidepressants tbh ??
that’s v v hush-hush bc he doesn’t want people to worry about him moreso than they already do after like...all these tragic mf events y’know.
he had moved out of his greek house to live on his own but after his second time coming back to ucla he moved back in b/c that way somebody could kick his ass if he fell down the rabbit hole again y’know
his antidepressant, lexapro, causes hallucinations and now he’s been seeing dinah everywhere, hearing her voice, etc. etc. he thinks he’s finally going insane and also keeps it v hush hush b/c he doesn’t want people to think he is

unfortunately, his parents broke up when he was v young and dad kind of decided he didn’t want to deal with having a kid so he skedaddled
didn’t even matter though because oliver’s mom was all the boy needed.
with that being said he is a total momma’s boy.
growing up he was always a bit of a trouble maker. making fun of the teachers, talking loudly in class, ditching blocks to go hang out with some buddies, yada yada.

Josh is LA born and raised he grew up about a fifteen-minute drive from the campus.
His parents own a family-owned chain of restaurants in various neighborhoods around the city so he’s expected to take over the business side of the restaurants.
Despite spending so much time in and out of a kitchen he never actually learned how to cook. He was always too busy doing school work or running to his next practice. Though that doesn’t stop him from trying.
He got a full ride to play football though schools had also been looking to recruit him for basketball. Unlike other kids who would have jumped at the opportunity to go as far away as possible from home once they went off to college he was the opposite. Knowing that UCLA wanted him for football is what ultimately made up his mind.
He wanted to take full advantage of the fact that he got a full ride to double major in Business Administration and Biology, but it ended up being too much for him on top of practice so he ended up dropping Biology after the first quarter.
Josh is pretty much the dictionary definition of the All-American boy next door. He’d never do anything that would jeopardize the opportunity he’s been given.
He feels like he’s been blessed with a good life so he’s always finding ways to give back to the community by volunteering at various organizations around the city that help out minorities in need.

Madden King, was brought into this world by a young couple who were still discovering if they wanted to be together forever. Spoiler they don’t.
With both parents being just freshly 19 and 20, things were bound to be a challenge. Jamie Andrews (father, 19), left school at 18 with a plan on joining the army, but fell short of the physical requirements with a bad back from rugby injuries. So he found a trade apprenticeship as an electrician and lived off a minimum wage until he met Sofia at 19. Instant physical attraction, and after three months of dating was when Madden popped in.
Sofia King (Mother, 20), finished high school and took a gap year of partying while she was 19, lived her best life as she would say. After her gap year ended she returned to studying, to be a midwife. It’s a long journey to become a midwife but she had dreamed of it ever since she was little. Meeting Jamie was a fluke, but in her mind it was love at first sight. When she fell pregnant, it was unintentional, but to her there was no other option but to have it, so she did.
Their relationship was on and off for the whole 9 months while Sofia was pregnant and it didn’t end when she gave birth either. It got worse. Mad grew up under Sofia’s parents, the only grandparents he ever knew. They raised him along with the occasional help from his mother, she tried her best to be there but she also wanted to complete her study, which her parents agreed.
By the time Mad was five, he didn’t even remember his father, or when he left.
He was raised well, and understood what would always be expected of him. but it didn’t always happen.
However when his grandfather pass away, he was only 10, and that was the last male role model he knew. Mad knew in that case he must stand over and protect those women he cared for with all he could.
He became very controlling, but only to those close to him.
At the age of 15, his grandma and mum moved to Canada, as that was were his grandma was from. He finished his schooling there up until college.
Mad became a charmer, and could often be quiet tempting to women, or so they say.
he tends to party maybe a little to hard for those who care for him to like.
Madden also has been married. you’d think after his mother’s young relationship didn’t work out he’d know better, but truthfully she never spoke of it and he never asked. it’s a topic he doesn’t talk about as his wife cheated on him with his best friend who was the best man at their wedding, shockingly. so he isn’t a fan of committing but i think you get why.

So basically Tommy has always had a rough life. The moment he was born, his parents who were too induced into their drug state of mind never actually went through with aborting him. He was born in the middle of a fucking alley way on their way to a party. His father took control of the situation by making sure his mother got help and by choosing to LITERALLY leave Tommy in a fucking dumpster. In Skid Row. Luckily a coherent and ambitious homeless man found him and called the police.
Tommy grew up in the foster system but he was always causing trouble because he didn’t want a family. He didn’t want to be controlled. Mainly he knew that he was too much of a bother. He couldn’t get adopted even as a baby because they weren’t sure how ‘fucked up’ he was by his birth parents aka because of the drugs. So he accepted the fact that he’d always be damaged goods. Honestly he just didn’t understand, even as a five year old why he couldn’t live with Alastor, the homeless man who was like his guru.
He’d always run away and just go curl up on the street with the man who basically saved him. Obviously Tommy didn’t understand why he couldn’t raise him. So when a family wanted to actually adopt Tommy, Alastor encouraged him and basically yelled at him telling him to get the hell out of his life. Which broke lil five year old Tommy’s heart cause his best friend didn’t even want him? It turns out he was just trying to do what was best for him.
His new parents were nice enough. Very clean cut. VERY coddling. Which was kind of nice but it also freaked him out. He tried to cooperate because he wanted to make his new mother happy but he knew that he didn’t fit in or belong with them. Still he loved them and they loved him. No matter the trouble he got into. Which was basically fights, coming home drunk and running away without a word so he could take photos of people who lived on the streets at night. He’s just…drawn to the reality and the people who are basically homeless because they are really genuine? Like they are raw and rough around the edges and he thinks they are so beautiful? He also gives them money and food anytime he can.
Kind of like Ryan Atwood from The OC in terms of his adoption and where he was suddenly growing up.

Basically he fell in love with photography at a young age. The things that he considers beautiful are quite unconventional.
Ended up getting a photography scholarship to UCLA majoring in literature and minoring in photography.

hey y’a ll !! this is my last character, antonette clyde! y’all can call her toni because she’d rather hear that than hearing her whole first name lmao, so here’s a little tidbit about my whore babe !
about her ( tw miscarriage, tw sickness, tw drugs, tw abortion )
toni grew up with the peaceful clyde family. her parents had immensely loved their only baby daughter and spoiled her. they weren’t necessarily rich but they had given toni everything she needed and more.
this stemmed from the fact that toni was only adopted because they couldn’t form a baby past the first trimester, that and the fact that her mother had poly cystic ovarian syndrome.
they had decided to adopt a small baby because they want the kid to know that it was theirs and never adopted.
at an early age, toni had always been the ‘impress the people i love’ type of person. always bringing home perfect scores, neatly colored colored books ( after days of trying to color it without overlapping a line ), and big smile to her face.
this developed during her teenage years where her relationship with other people were flourishing. she was the type of person who always knew how to adjust when being with different people.
but her habit of impressing other people turned into a vice once she hit senior year. she wanted to prove to her friends that she wasn’t a coward in dares and so, she had always accompanied them in times when they would drink until they passed out or smoke drugs until their eyes turned red.
her parents never really knew about this because they would always allow toni to do sleepovers with her friends. and thus making toni stay over at a friend’s place when she’s intoxicated. of course this means that sex is present from time to time. but she always made sure to be careful, always reminding the boy to wear condoms or withdraw.
this habit of hers lessened when she entered college. her grades dropped when she started with all her vices back in high school. she saw how heart broken it made her parents feel when she didn’t take home the top 1 award despite the bright smiles they wore.
she still took some drugs, drank, had sex in college but this time in moderation. of course, it was hard to moderate yourself when you get in too deep of your vices. she had made a mistake one time of never reminding tom of her precautions.
three months after ( there were still a lot of vices going on between those times ) she discovered she was pregnant. it freaked her out at first but she learned to calm down in time to tell her parents about it.
she knew her parents would be fine with it but the disappointment that laced their reactions broke her heart. she had decided to almost abort the baby but decided against it as she already got past the first trimester. she also didn’t want to stress her body out with the procedures and all that.
she stopped a year in college to take care of her growing tummy. she seized all drug smoking, sex, drinking, and really kept a close eye on her health. within all the mess of taking care of herself, she also made tom known that she was expecting their baby.
when brie ( gabriella niels ) was born, her parents were happy that there was another baby at home. they had agreed for toni to continue her education while her mother took care of brie while she was studying. she had a choice to going home from time to time to see brie so there are times, toni is not in her room in zeta zeta phi.
