sketches of (one of) my blades mc eva (+ tyril LOL) for @choicesoctober :D i have blades mcs for each of the LIs so here is my tyrilmancer mc which i also currently use for blades 2. some basics:

human, he/she, bisexual, gender is ?????? but mostly fem-presenting

best friends with mal

most proficient with the bow

ends up living in undermount with tyril/where ever tyril goes. their interracial relationship causes a stir amongst the elves

tends to use light magic a lot

dies of old age and traumatizes tyril forever LOL

i also came up with lore for an AU where eva isn't MC and meets tyril and the others in a different way. details under the cut ↓

eva is born to a poor family in whitetower. he lives in the nooks and crannies where she becomes fast friends with mal and his sister.

he's taken in by the temple of light at age 8 after they find his magical affinity. he lives at the temple for a while before escaping it at age 20. her escape causes an issue for the temple because of her practice of magic outside of temple conventions.

she leaves whitetower and stays in port parnassus.

when eva hears of nia's reformation of the temple he goes back to whitetower to see the change. he's skeptical but hopefully optimistic for the change nia is doing. there he meets mal again and decides to help around his and nia's orphanage.

that's also where eva meets tyril. it takes a few years but they finally get together, but the relationship is on-and-off. they don't end up together for good.

tyril is the elven equivalent of 25; eva is 30 (in this AU).

My February Challenge Masterlist

So January is done and I still need things to occupy my time while I’m laid up so onto the next challenge. A Choices February 2024, Choices Pride, and other fandom challenges seemed appropriate since I’ll go back to work right around the 14th so it gives me copious amounts of time to draw lovey dovey (platonic included) art for the season.

Warnings & A/N: No warnings that I know of. Not thrilled with the drabble but oh well, the song is gorgeous and perfect. So enjoy that at least.

Their picnic lay spread out on one of the plateaus above Undermount. The short windswept grasses, yellowed by the late autumn sun, danced in the light breeze that flowed cool and crisp down from the high peaks in this late summer sun.

Maiele flopped back into the grasses beside the blanket where Tyril finished setting out their lunches. The clouds passed through the bright blue sky overhead.

Tyril watched as Maiele mumbled some words. None loud enough to hear but he could guess for Maiele often did this when the wind blew towards the direction of Kade.

‘Clouds carry our words, as well as the rain, to those that we are not near,’ he would always tell their children.

The same children now shrieking and laughing during their game on the ebbs and flows of the wavy plateau they had picked to visit today. The same plateau that years ago had been the location of a much different event, with a much darker motivation.

Tyril smiled out at them and back down at Maiele who now listened with his eyes closed and enjoyed the sun warm upon his face, a soft smile on his lips.

Maiele had insisted on reclaiming areas of their world from those evil memories. Vowing to restore them with laughter and love instead of death and destruction. Whether it was more intensive restoration like that taking place in the wood that bordered Undermount or whether it was simple family picnics to locals tainted by nightmares that had walked the earth disguised as a close friend. They took the opportunity to do their part in healing the earth and themselves.

Even ten years on from those events, they still took that time. Tyril had promised Maiele they would.

“What are you thinking?” Maiele asked softly, his eyes still closed. “And don’t try and say you aren’t thinking anything. I can hear your thoughts.”

“You can hear my thoughts?” Tyril chuckled. “I believe that makes you the only person alive with that unique ability.”

Maiele smirked as his eyes opened to meet Tyril’s and he gave him a pointed look.

“I was thinking of the promises we made to each other. The ones we promised in secret, when it was only the two of us and no others. Promises we kept,” he trailed off to looked out over their children.

“And?” Maiele whispered as he sat up beside Tyril. Their faces a mere inch apart.

“I am grateful for our life,” he turned to look at Maiele.

“As am I,” Maiele smiled and leaned in to kiss him.

“Gross,” a voice came from right in front of them followed by three little giggles.

Maiele joined their giggling as Tyril turned towards them.

“And tell me, what is so gross about me kissing my husband?” he asked seriously.

“Ada,” their eldest began before Maiele pulled her to him in a tight hug followed by tickles and peels of laughter.

More ensued as the other two attacked Maiele in defense of their sister. Wrestling him to the grass.

“I surrender. I surrender,” Maiele chuckled and sitting back up grabbed three wrapped sweets from his pocket and handed them to the children. “Now go so I can kiss your father again.”

They ran off eating their sweets and Maiele turned to Tyril who was cleaning up sandwiches that had been kicked about during the rescue attempt.

“You will ruin their appetite.”

“And spoil them. Don’t forget that part,” Maiele chuckled deeply into their kiss.
