1 year ago today on October 2nd, 2021, I embarked on a personal journey of healing, self-discovery, and self-love after making the difficult decision to resign from my full-time job and an emotional last few weeks of goodbyes to the Eversource family and career I had worked so hard to cultivate and build since I started as a summer intern 15 years ago.

After living 4 months on the road figuring things out as I went along, I experienced the natural beauty of the western US, faced my fear of heights, enjoyed the freedom of the open road, and received the much needed kindness, resourcefulness, and guidance from all the people I met and reconnected with along the way.

In doing so, I accumulated a ton of pictures and videos that I have yet to go through! I will forever cherish the memories I made on this road trip, but I’m using it as motivation to make many more memories in the years to come.

Spending most of my time outside and completely by myself and in my thoughts, I had many revelations about how I want to live my life, how I should approach the people in my life, and the importance of healthy boundaries and giving up control. I’ve grown so much as a person but I still have much more room for growth and healing so this is just the beginning! I am so grateful for having the ability and the opportunity to now live my life on my own terms.

After watching Martijn Doolaard‘s two years on a bike, I was inspired to create something similar to share my story so I’ll be working on something fun and memorable out of all the pictures and videos I’ve accumulated on the road trip. More to come!
