This sim used to be a CAT. One day her owner decided to turn her into a human with a spell. She now works in the circus and this is the car that comes pick her up every morning. I fucking love this game.

I keep discovering new things about the original Sims game that I somehow never realized when I played it as a child. Dogs can freak out about your sim being in the pool!

I only learned this year that sims will sit down if you put a chair right next to the tea set. As a child it always frustrated me that my sims would only drink their tea standing.

Here's one of Elden Hick's many girlfriends asking about his relationship with Bella Goth. (In order to get him promoted I had him drink several love potions. As a result, he got involved with half the town. There's no way one of them wouldn't have noticed.)

I love this little detail in this game. Sometimes, when their mood is low, sims will autonomously argue about whatever issue they find most pressing at the moment, be it money, the house being dirty, jealousy…

For example, here's Chris and Melissa Roomies having an argument about their child.

I have also managed to have a 5 star celebrity sim. I honestly thought this was completely impossible when i used to play the Sims Superstar over 20 years ago, and I admit i had to use the friendship spell from Makin Magic to achieve this

The downside is that my celebrity sim seems to get anxiety attacks sometimes when she's working and her needs go red, oops.

Haters will say it's fake but I swear I managed to have the Goth Family keep ELEVEN (11) friends and this other family I made FOURTEEN (14) friends with no other cheats apart from the occasional "move_objects on" for max motives

The trick is filling the neighborhood with nice, extroverted sims and having them slowly befriend each other, rotating households frequently so that it's easier to keep the old friendships alive while making new ones.

Not me learning in the year of our Lord 2022 that you can have a pet dragon in the Sims Makin' Magic

(shortly after hatching, he proceeded to set a tree on fire, burning my dear husband alive as a result. i pleaded to the grim reaper and he came back as a zombie, but i had to let the dragon go after that)

i finally managed to have a sim become an actress for the first time since i first played this game back in 2003, so this is the first time ive seen this animation. immediately after this she got demoted from 4.5 to 4-star celebrity so she can no longer act until she gets 4.5 stars again 😭

i find it so cute that the only way to make money selling produce in the sims 1 is by travelling with your sim to the market. theres no way to sell the stuff directly from your inventory that i know of

yes, as you can see, at the moment i took this screencap my sim had a total of 81 simoleons to his name, 72 of which he'd just earned by selling his vegetables. this is mostly bc he bought the cute but expensive farm on the bottom left corner of the neighborhood, the one that's painted red and has a beautiful (but decorative only) orchard at the front. since having a cat helps you keep the moles and rabbits and other pests under control, he's been spending most of what little money he earns on food, bedding and other stuff for his cat. and still his carrots get attacked pretty often! ive never had a cat that was such a skilled hunter and yet...!

after some time, though, my sim received one of these calls telling you've won some prize, and he received 1500 simoleons, which felt like a fucking fortune. he spent most of it on three or four dates with one of the richest sims in the neighborhood, and then they married and she brough 40k with her to the family (plus another cat)

look how sad his living room was fjdksfjads i only bought him a TV bc sims won't accept proposals if they arent having all of their needs met at the given moment. i didnt want to get rejected bc my date wasn't having enough fun.

but hey at least the didnt get married in the bathroom

After undoing the previous incestuous fiasco, my sim here Whatshisname managed to land a date with some hottie he met Downtown.

I was so disastrous at managing my sims during dates back when I used to play this game as a child, that the Hot Date Expansion pack was nearly useless to me. But it's a whole new experience now that I know how to actually have succesful dates!

I've been discovering just how many new interactions sims had in this expansion pack, and the girl actually told Whatshisname to call her again!

Then I made these two, intending for them to be siblings. Except this game doesn't know what relationships are. And when the guy asked the genie for love, it made him fall in love with his so-called sister.............................................. i exited w/out saving

I took my sim to Magic Town and the literal first person I saw was a fucking lookalike of her except with darker hair!
