Suguru was Gojo’s “achilles heel”
just a rant from an idiot projecting satosugu onto patrochilles
manga spoilers!! do not read if you haven’t at least read up until end of shibuya arc.
Gojo and Getou mirror Achilles and Patroclus in many ways. Gojo, much like Achilles, has always been “destined” to become the strongest since birth and has always been treated as such by others around him. Getou, like Patroclus, is not only often overlooked but is also neglected in some ways despite people having known about his curse technique and how that may take a toll on an individual. Getou is the only one who sees Gojo for who he is, and has been a balancing factor for Gojo and vice versa. This brings me to my next theory, there are many posts about Gojo becoming weak once he comes out from the cube since Gege created a character so powerful in their own universe that no other can best them. However, I personally believe that it was very much intentional. I think that it may be the opposite. I think Suguru was essentially Gojo’s “Achilles heel” and that losing him along with everything else he’s lost so far can make him become completely unhinged once he comes out, which in turn may be his downfall
