My brother and I went to hike on the Old Man of Storr a couple of years ago. It was an amazing experience. The Storr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. . From the top of the rocks it is possible to discover the Sound of Raasay. Treeless and full of rocks and little maze of paths the Storr is a very impressive site with an elevation of 719m. The weather conditions were also intense, very windy on the face of the mountain. . . It remains one of the most photographed landscapes in the world. Photos cannot truly capture the beauty and wilderness of the Storr. You may have to discover it by yourselves. . . . #wildscotland #thestorr #isleofskye #skye #visitscotkand #hiddenscotland #scotlandmagazine #trotternishpeninsula #goexplore #landscape_hunter #landscapehunter (at The Old Man of Storr) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4-RsQ6gLxy/?igshid=17smg6tztceu9

We arrived to the Quiraing during the sunset. The golden hour -nearly gone, our tent- still in the boot. With no time left, trekking up this amazing landslip of the Isle of Skye wasn’t an option. Nor missing the view from the other side. Once again, my Mavic air proved itself to be a useful toy. With the sport mode activated, it sailed away to capture the last sun rays of the day. (Barely managed to bring him back in the falling darkness). #extremedehaze #isleofskye #highiso #djimavicair . . . . . . #roamtheplanet #unlimitedacotland #lovescotland #instascotland #skye #trotternishpeninsula #highlandsscottlans #thisisscotland #scotland_greatshots #scotlandbeauty #scotspirit #igerscotland #stayandwander #polishexplorers #scottishhighlands #scotlandlover #scotland_insta #polandwonders #polskafotografia #podrozemaleiduze @dji_mavic_air_photography #keepitwild #artofvisuals #lensible #weroamabroad #dronepals (at Quiraing) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0yoqaCDFuk/?igshid=9bweg73y1r26

Photo by @MichaelGeorge | As you drive the Isle of Skye in Scotland, you will come across many fantastic features in the landscape. The Storr are a family of intimidating rock formations on the Trotternish peninsula. It only takes about 90 minutes to hike up to these behemoths, but once you’re there, the experience is both awe-inspiring and disconcerting. Though these rocks have been here for a long time, they lean at such an angle that you can’t help but worry about where you’d go if they decide today is the day to fall. Photo by @migeophoto // The 'Old Man of Storr' is a large and startling rock formation on the Trotternish Peninsula in the Isle of Skye. From a distance, the Old Mann looks as if it is leaning outward and could fall at any moment. The 'Storr' proper is a large rock cliff face to the right of this image. Hikers wander all around this area, but are advised not to go near the base of the rocks. Made of Gyrolite and other materials, the 160 foot tall spire has a few legends associated with it. My favorite is that the formation was the thumb of a giant who died and was buried in the Earth. I guess that would mean he's forever giving the world a thumbs up? // #isleofskye #trotternishpeninsula #trotternish #scotland #westernhighlands #visitscotland #oldmanofstorr #storr http://ift.tt/2pWv9ZH
