I find America exhausting at times. In a country that’s so much about individuality and doing your own thing and being yourself and all of this stuff and you get trends like this for everyone to decide they need to buy the same grocery store tote bag for a viral trend or everyone needs to have a Stanley thermos in every color because of the different viral trend. There is no social media site I know of that is more about social assimilationism than TikTok.

Tiny, Trendy Purses That Can’t Fit Shit - Curated For You!

Do you ever look down at your unbelievably tiny “going out clutch” as you’re rummaging for your lip gloss in the bathroom mirror and finding it wedged underneath your iPhone with an opened and chewed piece of gum stuck to it and think “man, I wish I could experience this during the day?” Luckily, thanks to Rihanna and probably some other lesser celebrities, you can! Say hello to the micro-purse. It kinda defeats the purpose of carrying a purse in the first place, and you’ll probably end up throwing it in the bottom of your tote bag by the afternoon because you need to make a Trader Joe’s run, but think of how cute it’ll look perfectly propped in the corner of today’s Instagram post!

TOPSHOP - $55 - Unless you’re still rocking an iPhone 4, your phone probably won’t fit in here, but, your Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint will look super cute sticking out of that drawstring detail, and your earphones will be perfectly tangled down at the bottom.

Jacquemus - $611 - The super structured nature of this bag means you can’t expand it at all, so skip your wallet and probably cash, and slide in your debit card and ID. You may have room for a receipt if you manage to not ball up your Starbucks straw wrapper and absentmindedly toss it in your purse because you already left the store and can’t find a trashcan to throw it away. 

Forever 21 - $22.90 - I’m convinced we were obsessed with mini backpacks as kids because we didn’t actually need things. A Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker, a milky gel pen, and a note you’ll never send to your crush intricately folded and sealed with a kiss and you were set. At least you can fit your phone charger in this one, if you wrap it up real good.
