the first character i ever fell in love with: michael!!!! you could easily tell michael was going to be a great lead and deliciously flawed from the first episode.

Flash Finale Tonight 👀

Today’s the day! I really do hope everything falls into place tonight but it unnerves me that I still have SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!

It’s so strange to me that all of these really important story elements happened OFF SCREEN. So we didn’t see any of TR Barry’s backstory.

We didn’t get to see Barry get/create his time remnant to save Iris in 2017 (or to defeat Savitar in 2021 whichever is correct). We didn’t get to see TR Barry shunned or alone and broken. We didn’t get to see how he became Savitar. It’s just all been told to us which is weird because it goes against “Show, Don’t Tell.” At least in S1 we got to see RF get stuck in 2000 and stalk and kill Wells. By the finale we just wanted to know why and it was simple: He wanted to get home. In S2 we got to see Zoom’s childhood tragedy and how he became a psychopath and by the finale all we wanted to know was how Barry was going to stop him and who was in the mask on E2.

But here we are hours before the finale and I still want to know…

1. Why does Savitar need Barry to SEE Iris die? Is it b/c Barry is the weakest in that moment or the most powerful? or something else? 2. What did Savitar lose that he wants to get back? The timeline before Barry got/created him? Is this why he wants “control of all time?” 2b. Why is Savitar mad at Barry for “playing God” when Barry flashpointed? Why does he care? 3. I get the Savitar existence causal loop but if the TR was created in 2021 to defeat Savitar like Cisco suggested in 3x21 then why did Iris die in 2017? I need the step that jump starts the loop. 3. How did Savitar get that facial scar? Since he’s a speedster, why didn’t rapid regeneration/speed healing work? 4. What happened to the two remaining husks? By the end of 3x01 there were five husks and they found one more in 3x06. There have been four husk metas: The Rival, Magenta, Shade and Clive Yorkin. Am I missing any? 5. Who made Savi’s suit?? This is a stickler for me because the only thing we’ve ever seen Barry make is breakfast. 6. How did RF know that things were messed up for Barry when he brought him back to the timeline in 3x01? 7. Do the writers, actors, director, script supervisor, crew and the CW really think 2017-2024 is eight years?? Or is this a clue? Did over 100 people really miss this??

Illusions have been used a lot this season. In 3x04 Barry defeated Mirror master with mirrors. In 3x05 the monster was a hologram. In 3x06 Shade creates the illusion he’s a shadow. Illusions of Dante (3x09) and Francine (3x15) were used against Cisco and Wally respectively. Then we had Abra Kadabra in 3x18. I think some important story element has also been an illusion…

Anyway, as long as Iris lives I’m good!
