oh are we gatekeeping the term tomboy now???
#*deep space noises*#fuck the idea that if you dont ‘look’ enough like something in the way people expect#then you arent it#tomboy is a special word for me#i did not know you could be nonbinary as a child#nor did anyone around me talk about it#but i did know that girl didnt feel right but neither did boy#but i heard the word tomboy#and young me clung to it fervently despite not ‘looking’ or ‘acting’ extremely tomboyish#tomboy granted me a little space where i felt a bit more comfortable with gender#and it wouldnt realise why until much later#so please dont you dare gatekeep that word#dont withhold it from more people like me- learning and pushing and experimenting#leave some space#sigh im going to bed
