I finished the first season of Kardeslerim
And everyone is all about Asiye x Doruk and they are sweet but I can take them or leave them, and I am all about Aybike x Berk because !!!
He tells her they make a great couple and she maces him!
His reaction: (He’s saying “you are a real psychopath, I adore you!”)
Here he is saying he missed her to her very unimpressed face:
“Smile so your dimples will appear”
Berk: I love you. Asiye: And I hate you.
His reaction is “this is just the type of relationship I seek!
His reaction to calling him ugly or similar:
He’s a psycho who’s happily been bullying her cousins but he loses it when she finds out his BFF in psychoness Tolga got her involved and she almost got assaulted.
And then he tells Tolga she’s off-limits to which Tolga reasonably points out he (Berk) landed her dad in the hospital so WTF! And Berk is all “I am not in love with her, I just like how smart she is and that even tho she’s super poor she takes no shit from anyone.” Dude, you got it bad! (Berk saying “I don’t want anyone to hurt her” and Tolga retorting “because you are the only one allowed to hurt her?!“ is gold.)
He writes a whole play that gets put on by the school where they are the villain couple who get a happy ending!!!!
And gets baseball-batted to the head when he finds out Tolga plans to substitute a real gun for a prop one to have her cousin kill Doruk.
Here he is expressing condolences like an actual human being when her father is wounded by crazy Tolga. And worried that she blames him and is all “You know I love you.” AWWWWW
The bad guy is all “why on earth are you with them OMG” and then tells Aybike’s brother “you know he’s into your sister.” Heeee. Yes, he knows. A blind and deaf person can tell.
Are they even bros if they don’t manhandle a bad guy together? The thought of Doruk, Omer, Berk and Ogulcan working together on anything breaks my brain :P But I guess they are all gonna be in laws hahahah.

🔥 Little Jinx is progressing well in the Tolga Bat Hospital, in Australia. He is a baby Tube Nosed bat, a fruit eater, whose mother had died. In this photo you can see why bats are called "chiroptera" which literally translates to "hand-wing".

For a “fandom and tea” blog, I have depressingly little about tea going on here. In fact, I have more politics, which is all kinds of backwards because I adore tea and can not stress enough how much I hate polities. So this year I’m going to start posting random tea reviews. Some will be Adagio standards, most will be fandom blends, a good many will be by me. But they will at least give you an idea of what I stock my tea cupboard with.
We’ll start with this one.

I confess to being a lapsang addict. Seriously, if there is one tea you will hear about more than any other it’s lapsang. In this blend it adds it’s usual smokey goodness, but is smoothed out by the pu erh dante. The cloves are a nice after finish without being over powering. Plus the tin art is adorable.

I follow this Australian bat rescue and rehabilitation page on FaceBook, called Battie Blue. It’s about a bat who had his wing reattached, but they post a lot about general topics and bat rescues. They often talk about other bat carers.
Right now, the people who care after these bats are struggling with saving bats given the increase in temperatures and a politician down there is stoking the “anti-bat” sentiments.
It's been horrible in the batty world in Queensland in the last few days. Go to Tolga Bat Hospital's FB page, plus NQ wildlife care, and FN Queensland wildlife, to see what's been going on.
One part of the pic shows the extremely toxic comments by one member of parliament about the incident - a member of parliament who loathes bats has made this comment on his insanely redneck page and has deleted any positive comments and banned anyone who is pro bat from his post.
The Cairns carers have had to cope with not only an extremely high abandonment rate over the last 2 months, with some carers having in excess of 50 pups each, but now there has been the first ever heat stress incident in the area. The temperatures have been over 44 degrees C which is 111F.
Bats fall out of the trees dead at temps over 43.
Hundreds of live babies have been pulled out of the colony and cared for by already stretched carers.
There have been heat stress incidents all the way down the QLD coast including Ingham and Townsville. Hundreds of babies have come into care with carers who have too many babies. A really tough decision was made to euthanase many of these babies since there were no carers able to take these babies and nobody able to care for their special needs while transport was being arranged if carers could be found who would take them. Heat stress babies have very special needs and may not make it even with all vet support and care available. They may die a few weeks later from secondary renal failure.
As you can imagine, the last few days have been difficult for the rescuers and carers, who not only have to deal with the heat, but also the effects of the heat on themselves and the bats, and caring for the babies they can save.
They need support and donations: Money donations are the most effective and the most immediate - for things like buying more airers so the babies have somewhere to hang - buying more cloths and wraps and baby wipes and even buying more garbags and bin liners and washing powder.

Situated in rainforest in tropical Far North Queensland, Tolga Bat Hospital cares for up to 500 orphaned baby flying foxes each year and it will definitely restore your faith in humanity. According to their website, they "started in a very small way in 1990, responding to a story in the local paper. Hundreds of young Spectacled flying foxes had been orphaned by tick paralysis.
