Hi Elsa! I’m so sorry, this got way out of hand, but I loved this question so much because it let me go in depth into Jill’s and Kat’s characters 💕

Jill would stay and she wouldn’t even hesitate about it, and that’s because for the longest of time, she never even saw herself having that kind of relationship with anyone, so marriage and children are not something relevant in her life. Jill never wanted to fall in love (because she saw her siblings get absolutely wrecked and heartbroken, and she decided that was not for her), and so she never even wanted to be in a committed relationship, she mostly stuck with casual dating and friends-with-benefits, but never ever any commitment of any sorts. That changed with Ethan, and she fell in love with him, hard, without even realizing it at first until it was too late. Ethan was the first man Jill ever truly wanted to be with. So, marriage and children are not really a dealbreaker for her, because she never gave it that much thought, and the concept of it still seems foreign to her, so if Ethan told her he doesn’t want that, it wouldn’t be a big deal for her, she’d accept it too easily.

Adding Kat’s side, since I HC that she ends up with Tobias, and I love how she’s a complicated character, so I’m including her too. She would be the total opposite of Jill. If Tobias told her that marriage and children would never be an option, she would straight up leave, no looking back. Her main issues stem from the fact that she was left at the altar; it was definitely a turning point for her, not only because of the heartbreak, but also because she was absolutely humiliated. After that, Kat stopped believing in the concept of love, but still sought formal, committed relationships, now more out of convenience than anything else. If early on in their relationship Tobias told her that marriage and children were off the table, she would leave, not because she particularly wants to get married (because, hello, that has to cause a brutal PTSD), but mainly because of the expectations she feels she has to fulfill. As the oldest daughter, and the oldest daughter of a socially prominent family, Kat has always struggled to keep up appearances, struggled to be the perfect Valentine she’s always appeared to be, and she knows marriage and children is exactly what is expected of her, and she wouldn’t let another man, Tobias or otherwise, take that from her and “humiliate” her like that again. I HC that she eventually falls in love with Tobias and realizes that’s what’s most important, but If he happened to tell her that early on in their relationship, before she realizes the true extent of her feelings for him, she would leave and never look back.
