Ten sexy singles, one hot summer… Welcome back to the villa for the most dramatic summer yet. As our ten OG islanders line up around the lawn, they’ll get the chance to couple up for the first time, before they’ve even had a conversation – this is completely based on first impressions.

What does being in a couple mean? Well, it’s sort of an unspoken pact to try and get to know each other and give things a shot. But it also means that you’ll share a bed at night, compete in challenges together, and you’re a team when it comes to public voting and eliminations. But, you know, it’s the first coupling. No need to put all that pressure on it, you can and should still get to know other people.

Islanders will be called up at random to make a choice on who they want to couple up with. Islanders who are interested in them will get the chance to “step forward” and make an impression, however, the person choosing can select whoever they want – even if that person hasn’t stepped forward or is already coupled up.

Those who are chosen by someone will not get the chance to choose a couple, however, they can still step forward and show interest in other people. That takes some guts, and it’s kind of awkward when you do that and don’t get chosen, but hey. It’s up to you.

Our ten islanders Saint Aguilar, Layla Chari, Romi Octavio, Enzo Graham, Marcus Wittich, Ji-hoon Wang, Charlotte Liu, Andrea Pereira, Joshua Vargas, and Mimi Martinez await the first name to be called.

It’s Josh.

Mimi, Andrea, and Romi step forward.

Josh chooses to couple up with Mimi – we have our very first couple of the season.

Next, Andrea is called up to choose.

Layla, Romi, Saint, and Marcus step forward to show interest.

Andrea chooses Layla.

Enzo is called up next to make a choice.

Charlotte, Ji-Hoon, Romi, and Marcus step forward.

Enzo hesitates for a moment, like he’s making a tough decision. He decides to choose Charlotte, and they’re coupled up.

Romi is called forward to choose next.

Charlotte, Marcus, and Ji-Hoon step forward.

Layla also steps forward. Everyone stares at her for a moment – Andrea stares at her even longer. Ouch.

Bold behavior doesn’t always pay off, unfortunately. Romi chooses Marcus.

Saint has the opportunity to choose next.

Ji-Hoon steps forward.

Mimi also steps forward, despite already being coupled with Josh. So does Layla, despite being coupled up with Andrea . . . and rejected the last time she tried this. The public could get the sense that Andrea isn’t Layla’s type to a T.

Saint puts an end to the awkward silence and chooses Layla, leaving Andrea single.

Ji-Hoon now can make a choice. Luck of the draw – or unluck ? – has put them at the end of the line. The only single islander remaining is Andrea.

Everyone else has been coupled up, and Ji-Hoon isn’t the type to make a risky move. So, they go with Andrea.

So, maybe Ji-Hoon didn’t have the guts to go for their top choices, but this could make them some friends – it definitely looks good to the public.

What now?

Please do a thread on the dash within your couple that takes place on the first day. First conversations, flirting, get the vibe. You’ll want this background for future decisions and interactions later.

You are welcome to post an open or do a starter call with other islanders, but whatever you have the capacity for. The only thread you have to do is the one in your couple, the rest are up to you.

You are also welcome to use the discord channels. Feel free to post in one as a sort of “open” and anyone can join in and reply as a sort of free-for-all, this is to be used for group interactions, though it could be one-on-one if you’re the only ones using it. Just know that anything in the discord is fair game and people can interrupt your conversations there!

ALL INTERACTIONS WILL TAKE PLACE ON DAY 1 UNTIL THE NEXT PLOT DROP, which will take place on night 1. So, use this opportunity to get to know each other and form day 1 bonds…your strength as a couple or even in your friendships might make a big difference very soon.

In his defense; he did come to inform her about the development with Charlotte although he wasn't sure if he could give the rich princess what she wants since he can't seem to keep it in his pants when he's around the woman currently laying next to him. His hand rests on the top of her head as he plays with the strands of her dark hair. "I didn't come here for that," he murmurs. He isn't sure how she doe it but she brings it out of him. He's hardly able to contain himself around her, maybe it's because with her he doesn't have to... feel like he should be better. He can be him. He brushes his tongue along his lower lip as his eyes lift up to the ceiling. He also wants to keep her, keep this to himself for a moment longer. He's not sure what he wanted to really talk about, the beats of silence almost prevents him from speaking. "When I was in New York, I opened a bar I thought I could have something that was mine, ya know? Not something I needed Mikhael for or my dad. I met a girl and all the money I borrowed from a loan shark was gone in the blink of an eye. He told me I needed to work it off." His fingertips playing with the strands of her hair. "I started fighting for him, I would let myself get the shit beat out of me when the night bet against me, I would fight for my life when they voted for me." He glances to her. "My last fight, I put this guy in the hospital." He whispers. "My brother found out recently." He narrows his gaze. "He's blackmailing me and I'm not surprised but I have no fucking idea what to do."
