He'd hear about that whole mermaid flesh thing and buy them from the black market in a sealed crate to try the flesh of a mermaid to see how it tastes, only he got tricked because when he's fully prepared to eat a savage grin on his face and opens the crate his smile drops, that's not a fucking mermaid, it's one of those people with a selkie parent and a human one, seal from the waist down starring up at him with frightened eyes, cute seal hybrid yes, but not what he paid all that gold for.

He sets the lid back on the crate. Damn it, now he's gotta track down the fool that dared to do this to a pirate like him. Question is what to do with the half selkie now. Where did they even find one?! They're so great at escaping so how the hell did this one get caught, why didn't they say something or cry for help instead of stay in that crate to be sold?! He hears the contents of the crate he bought move almost silently and quickly walks over to toss the lid off sure they were trying to escape but they weren't, they were trying to cure up and was crying only no sound was made.

That's when he sees their neck, a long scar across it. That explains it but it doesn't look all that old. Grrrr those fuckers knew they weren't a mer and did this on purpose, making the half seal mute so no one would find out about their lie.

He rubs his own throat remembering the blade that was aiming to cut his head off only to permanently damaged his voice box, he definitely knows how that feels but he's lucky enough to still be able to speak, same can't be said for half-seal.

They have his sympathy for that damage but he hasn't eaten anything thing all day, wanted to have a good appetite to so he could full enjoy the mer he was supposed to get, he'll spare them his rage but not a trip to his stomach....but that little bit of what was left of a once good man is nagging at him making him reluctant.

Damn creature is cute and bares the same type of scar he does, after around half an hour fighting himself he looks over the half seal again. They look like they've lost all hope and something sparks and idea that has him grinning sadistically, he can have them fill his belly for now but just how much much satisfaction would it give him if they both get their vengeance, him on the merchant and them on the people who caught caught and silenced them.

He thinks that would very entertaining to see.

RK Round Robin Fic

So basically I just decided to make something different. Hope to not be killed tomorrow ^^

The hurricane approaches with its maximum force towards the city. Everyone is nervous and anxious about what might happen.

"This nuclear power plant has to continue to work, at all costs ! It depends on all the energy for the whole city and the two hospitals that will be so important if the hurricane hits us!" Kaoru says in a cry of anger after feeling the responsibility lies with the whole team that works that night.

At 8:00 pm everyone meets in the "Gatotsu" meeting room to watch the latest news. Saitou seizes the moment to go check how water pumps from reactor 2 are working (aka smoke).

Aoshi, leaning against a corner of the room, continues to meditate and analyze the situation, Kaoru appears to be upset because she thinks Aoshi is enjoying the moment to take a big nap. Kenshin tired after a grueling day to record an entire activity of the 4 reactors, is taking a nap. Saitou continues smoking and checking a flow pressure of the reactor No.2. Yaiko doesn’t stop changing the news channel:

"Every news channel says something different. Some say that the Hurricane heads north, others say it increases in intensity and is going towards the center, I don’t trust these guys! "

He said, after firing the remote control to the table.

Okina, master engineer of reactor 1 and Misao, the operator of the uranium bar crane, enter the room.

"I'm afraid we should start the process of shutting down all the reactors for the safety of the entire city," said Okina in a clearly sad tone.

"Then we will have to leave these facilities, in case the hurricane start to go in this direction and hits the plant with violence, Uranium deposits can become volatile and contaminate the entire area with radiation and no one will leave here alive!" he said.

"It is not a matter of the Central to have no one or to be disconnected that ceases to be a danger to all. If we do that. Who will provide the energy to the hospitals that are treating the wounded who are coming from the outskirts of the city? " Kenshin says.

"No one can get out and go home, the roads are flooded and it seems the main highway is totally cut off. We have to stay here and ensure the functionality of the power plant and safety of our entire population "

Everyone stares at the floor thinking that there is no other choice but to stay and work.

A silence that lasts for some time until the alarm sound from the main control room bursts. Missao and Aoshi rush to the control room:

"What is this? Low water pressure in the reactor?" Says Misao

"Energy consumption is 650 Mw above reactor output, something has happened in the city" says Aoshi as he looks at the main turbine manometers.

Meanwhile in the meeting room:

"Breaking News, all the northern power lines that carried electricity from the great dam are cut off due to the storm. Electric power of the city depends exclusively on the Nuclear Power Plant. " TV alert

"Those fools can’t get it working again? Too bad that Fuji is in another city, it could be useful to repair them " says Hiko the Chief Engineer, just entering while opens a new bottle of Sake.

The alarms echo throughout the powerplant, red lights flash in every hallway. Everyone hurries to go to their workplaces.

Sanozuke arrives late to the meeting room

"Where is everyone?"

"Working instead of being on the turbine computer playing CS" A voice down the hallway says.

"Saitou, you bastard, I was not playing, I was getting ready for the tournam... I mean, I was doing the calculations for the steam flow in turbine 2."

"Were you at Discord with your friends? Hun " Saitou says while looking for a report of energy production.

"Dam.. How do you know it?" ask Sano

"You didn’t hear the noisiest sirens in the whole plant, it could only mean one reason. The turbine that you were operating is in trouble, it doesn’t produce enough energy, which we urgently need. We'll have to turn it off" states Saitou while walks towards the main desk.

"Don’t be so pessimistic, I'll repair it. The city depends of this power plant. Also, I think you should stay here and observe my technique looking on CCTV, " says Sanozuke, running out of the meeting room.

The sirens continue to be heard all over the place, Kenshin finds Sano in the corridor of the turbines.

"I'll repair that damn turbine!" Sano says in a angry voice.

"Are you going to open that mechanism? You have to be very careful and avoid touching the titanium plates as there’s some radioactive elements! " Kenshin says in a tone of concern, knowing that if Sano does something wrong it can be letal.

Sano is silent and runs towards the turbine, but Kenshin decides to go with him.

Sanozuke begins to open the access cover to the turbine mechanism that is still running, but Kenshin pushes the button and the turbine stops. Sano spends 10 minutes inside the turbine while everyone observes from the balconies of the control rooms "He is fearless but that can be letal" says Aoshi

"He's going to make it, I'm sure" says Yaiko

Moment of "suspense" until Sanozuke, soaked in oil, goes out of the interior of the turbine and Kenshin restarts the system.

All alarms stop and power output is normalized again. Everyone applauds Kenshin and Sano...

"You both saved this Power plant and this city!" Okina says.

"Thank you all, I just did my duty! " Sano

Kenshin looks at one of the gauges and notices that the energy production doesn’t match the turbine's standard values.

"You almost killed yourself for nothing," Saitou said.

"What?? How can you say such a thing Saitou? He risked his life and saved the entire power plant and the city, we now have enough energy levels! " Says Misao

"I turned on the emergency turbines, that's what happened ..." Saitou says

“What?! But you said that… Your bastard!”

“Time is the most important thing, without the energy for so long, the situation inside the hospitals would become a tragedy. I have activated the last resource. and btw that turbine has no radioactive material, so if you want you can go there again and play some real game” Says Saitou with a sneaky smile.

“Grrrr* I wish I had my Zanza here”

“Would be a waste of time like this situation was.” Saitou says.

Everyone returns with a strange feeling to their workplaces…
