Other silly little story idea, I'm also a fancy high grade entomologist but I've been sent into the area to study insect biodiversity bc the banning of technological advancement (read: herbicides and pesticides) gave rise to a bunch of bugs; I study bugs near the palace and while I never actually see pouf at first, he talks to me from the other side of the walls around the building, and I think specifically about him breaching the "what is your favorite insect" question and I'm like, well I think ants are probably my absolute favorite and he's like

But I follow up with, I also specialize in butterflies as well and he's just

😶😳💓❤️💕 <- is also part butterfly

#he's completely out of it trying not to pass out while I'm talking about how wing aerodynamics work #and of course there's the bit where we actually do meet each other formally and i see his ant antennas and am like !!!!!! wow ant!!!#and then the wings open up and i scream they just look so cool and they're rainbow and covered in hearts #and he's just vibrating in place bc it's going so well #i tell him how incredibly cool and amazing he must be and he's 2 seconds away from asking for my hand in marriage #star speaks #those are genuine statements btw i do love ants; id like to keep a colony of carpenter ants some day #ive been raising butterflies as a hobbiest too lmao; not really recording anything but i keep all my bugs #got a nice layout of mildly beat up looking insects bc i kept the adult insects as pets lmao
