Bridge four notices one day that Kaladin isn’t the most observant at times. So they try to tackle and see how much he actually observes. It starts small with Sigzil asking him weird questions and Kaladin answering them with no second thoughts. Then Lopen brings Rlain over and is like this is my cousin and Kaladin doesn’t bat an eye. This escalated into involving Shallan and Adolin and she does lightweaving and makes Adolin look like Kaladin. It doesn’t phase him. Then it involves all the other radiants and Kaladin notices nothing. Some people go to Lirin and Hesina and they get involved but with a laugh because “Kaladin doesn’t notice anything unless you’re injured.” So with a bit of lightweaving, they fake some injuries. Kaladin doesn’t notice. It escalated so much that Dalinar gets involved. Nothing. Nobody seems to find the thing that will phase him. So it just slowly dies out over time.

Kaladin knew the whole time. He just wanted to see how long they would stick it out. When the windrunners found out, they rioted.

aftg short stories i would kill for:

the monsters at Abby's during the summer (this is #1 and i literally die whenever i think about it cause it'd be so amusing)

the girls' first year when they had to pretend to like each other in order to affect a unified front to their male teammates and how that led to them actually becoming tight

the Christmas break that Kevin, Nicky and Aaron spent with Matt and his mother

how Katelyn and Aaron fell for each other

a compilation on all of the more outrageous bets the team has taken

the foxes during midterms/finals (it's actually so funny reading the books from Neil's pov cause he'll literally be like 'ugh yeah we have exams next week' and then next time it cuts it's like two weeks later and he spares all of two lines to mention that they survived them and then just jumps right into the current crisis of the day)

just random shit about Matt and Allison's friendship (inspired by that one scene where he was gleefully teasing her about getting messed up by the downpour cause she was miserable but also like all of their lines are gold)

IMPORTANT PREMISE: This fic was written as a game of 'chinese whispers', where each writer could only read the segment that the author before them wrote so keep that in mind: when you see an asterisk, expect things to change wildly!! Similar to a telephone game but all in one fic, it resulted in...an amazing mess.

Including Neil as a merman (the ONLY thing consistent about this fic - go figure), Andrew initially as an overdramatic surfer dude, the Foxes as surfers but also a swim team AND also as navy-men, pagan magic, kidnappings, large sea creatures and sharks, Riko being a bastard (as usual) and many people being thrown overboard from boats that didn't initially exist.
