I enjoy the vnc anime but I do not enjoy the eng subs making the anime seem more archaic than it actually is when they are speaking (relatively) modern japanese!!! (they always do this....)
#noe literally calls the faceless one 'sensei' why the hell are the subs changing it to maitre or smt 😭#where are all these random ass french words coming from other than one's specifically spoken LMAO#they rlly went oui oui baguette every five minutes#it just doesn't warrant the use of all the old english....#i think hell's paradise was superbly translated BC they acknowledged that kaku used relatively modern jpn dialogue#anyway mao reblogged a post abt bakugou's speech patterns and cursing in japanese#and it reminded me of how much i hate when translators don't take context into account when it comes to cursing#like sometimes it could just be 'you' (derogatory) or smts it's 'bastard' (im going to fuck you up)#and most of the time you CAN differentiate it!!!#this is like when the jjk subs translated yuji saying damn it into calling nobara a bitch smh#the weeaboo to translator pipeline MUST be stopped. these bitches couldn't comprehend a rock if it slapped them in the face#mta
