Hypothetical Rank Ups No. 48&49: Siegfried

[This was actually one of the first I ever started on but I was so spoiled for choice given the sheer amount of material to work with I couldnt decide on anything. Him FINALLY getting an OFFICIAL rank up gave me enough direction to put the rest together!]

Disengage A -> Foolish Heroics A

Apply either of the following 2 buffs, only one can be activated. - Apply Target Focus to self (1 turn). - Apply Invincible to self (1 turn). Apply Delayed Buff to self: - After 1 turn, remove own debuffs. - After 1 turn, increase own ATK based on remaining HP (3 turns), then recover HP^.

[Reduce cooldown from 7/6/5 to 6/5/4]

I spy with my little eye a fatal flaw. Just like how Siegfried’s downfall was his inability to act for himself, his “Disengage” is now a double edged sword of a hard survival on a low cooldown. At his master’s command he can shield his allies at the cost of his own health and be rewarded with a boost to strength afterwards proportional to how much damage he took, alongside a cleanse of any debuffs and a decent chunk of health restoration...provided he survived that previous turn of course, which his extremely high health pool will help with. This target focus will also pair nicely with high hit count enemies given Siegfried’s multiple NP Gain buffs. Alternatively, he can access hard survival with a full turn of invincibility followed by the cleanse and heal, but in that situation the downside becomes lacking as much of a VERY much needed attack buff. Unless he was already at low HP, there’s going to be an obvious decrease in the subsequent attack boost that scales higher the less HP he has left...as well as, of course, not guaranteeing a turn of safety for his allies. As for the direct improvements, the HP recovery is greatly increased (minimum 5k at level 10, I’d say) which in combination with the now nicely low cooldown will both make Siegfried much more in line with his lore (as is, he’s not very tanky for a supposed near invincible hero...) as well as make it far less of a penalty to need to take damage for the attack buff. I was tempted to go with something less direct, maybe more support oriented, but I decided to go with Attack instead after seeing that his Golden Rule rank up didn't lower the cooldown, meaning at best his abysmal attack stat still only has a 30% up every 3 out of 6 turns. A second attack buff will immensely help, and what’s more it actually self-balances out when it comes to dragon enemies. Siegfried’s anti-dragon output is already very very good, but you would have to find a way to work around that rather than in conjunction with it. This is because his dragonslaying skill comes with a hefty dragon DEFENSE up as well, meaning he’s taking less damage, meaning the average scaling on that attack up will be lower even if the Target Focus is picked. A win-win as far as balancing is concerned! 

Balmung EX -> Balmung ‘EX’

Deal damage to all enemies^. Increase your NP Gain by 20% (3 turns). Apply [Rheingold's Curse] to each enemy damaged. [Rheingold's Curse] - Decrease NP Charge for enemy by 1 - Increase own NP Gauge by 10% <Overcharge> Deal extra Special Attack damage to [Dragon] enemies.

If Vlad gets 2 damage rank ups Siegfried does too, damnit. In addition to that, the infamous curse of Fafnir’s gold is now attached to the one who absorbed Fafnir’s power, meaning any opponent who explicitly takes damages from the NP will have their wealth drained (NP charge reduction) and hoarded by Fafnir Siegfried (NP refund per charge reduced). Enemies must take direct damage, though, meaning if one or more enemy has evade or invincible, or for any reason takes 0 damage, then they will not be affected by [Rheingold’s Curse]. This further adds to Siegfried’s tanky nature and his lorewise-supposed ability to spam his NP at an unparalleled rate, as well as synergize with Kriemhild who can reduce enemy NP charge as well! In fact so does the first skill, as Kriemhild’s selectable Target Focus can be used to either further lower Siegfried’s HP/capitalize on his NP gain, or allow him to invincible AND still shield allies.

So, to TLDR: Kriemhild Synergy on two fronts, Siegfried and Fafnir are totally the same person (I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL) and his NP now reflects that as well as how absurd his NP spam is supposed to be (as well as mitigating enemy NPs and capitalizing on his status as the wave clearer compliment to Sigurd’s Boss Killer status), and most game changingly, he now has a hard survival vs Target Focus Tank choice-skill whose low cooldown makes it a lot more dynamic and solidifies that tankiness. On top of that, when used right it can do wonders to fix his atrocious attack against non-dragons.

Madara refers to fights as dancing, something expressive and intimate, and he believes that Hashirama is the only true partner he can have in that dance.

Kishimoto tries to pull the whole “Hashirama and Madara (as well as Naruto and Sasuke) are the reincarnations Asura and Indra” to make them like brothers, but thats not how he writes them. He writes them, especially Madara, as in love with each other.

Tobirama describes the Uchiha as ultimately motivated by love, and gaining power through the loss of that love, such as the Mangekyo Sharingan awakening from the grief of the death of the one closest to you.

It’s Madara’s love for Hashirama that motivates him to believe in the ninja village at first. When the Senju and Uchiha first make piece, Madara only agrees on the deal that Hashirama either kill himself or his only surviving younger brother (who himself killed Madara’s last surviving younger brother), but he stops Hashirama from actually killing himself. He later laments not making the deal Hashirama killing Tobirama with no out, because he always knew that Hashirama wouldnt agree to it, which is why he gave the option of Hashirama dying instead, something Madara couldnt go though with. He had thought the death of either Hashirama or Tobirama would force the other to understand the pain of losing Izuna, but Madara loved Hashirama too much to really force it.

And its only when that love is no longer enough for him to ignore the issues of the village that he turns against the village. Had Madara been chosen as the second hokage, had a Senju willingly and peacefully handed over power to an Uchiha, it would have represented to peace and coexistence the village was created for. Madara was willing to look past his desire for retribution for Izuna’s death at the hands of Tobirama, but Tobirama couldnt do the same, and successfully convinced Hashirama that Madara and the Uchiha still werent trusted by the people. Tobirama is chosen as the next hokage, and the Uchiha are still seen as the enemy, convincing Madara the the village is only a continuation of the world’s previous injustices, and its hard to say he’s wrong.

When Hashirama “kills” Madara at the Valley of the End, he says that to protect the village he is willing to kill any enemy, even a child. But, part of of what motivated him to create the village was losing his youngest brother to war as a child. Hashirama explicitly states the he is willing to commit the injustice he wanted to stop. And the village never stops having child soldiers.

Madara’s solution for the injustices of the world isnt very good, obviously. Putting everyone in a tree dream doesnt actually fix the issues. But thats because he cannot see any way out. He sees fighting as dancing because he knows no other way to express himself or connect with others. Its all he was taught as a child, and all he knows. Hashirama can claim the vilage is different, but the many wars between the ninja villages say otherwise.

When Tobirama says the Uchiha are motivated by love, its in the same conversation where he says (to Sasuke) that the slaughter of the Uchiha was necessary for the sake of the village. The love that motivates the Uchiha seems to be part of why Tobirama sees them as dangerous. He claims he isnt motivated by hate for the Uchiha, as if his distrust is merely utilitarian. He values loyalty, first to his clan and later to his village, but that loyalty is born of duty, not care.

Tobirama also created the Edo Tensei, which epitomizes the dehumanization inherent to the ninja system. Bringing someone back from the dead, using a living sacrifice, controlling their body with no care for their emotions, to be used for suicide attacks, since they can come back indefinitely under the Edo Tensei. They have no way free themselves. Not even death is an escape from being used as a tool.

Every future atrocity committed by the Leaf, the enslavement of the Branch Hyuuga, allowing the Hidden Whirlpool village to be destroyed, the slaughter of the Uchiha, the creation of Danzo’s Root, is done by the village that chose Tobirama over Madara. That chose duty to itself over love of its people.

"Captain! Theres a rift opening. No known origin but its growing in size"

Captain Rogers stood tall as a smirk etched his features. Soldier surrounded him with few scientists. He despised scientists as a whole, always thinking they knew best, always over thinking, where as a soldier followed his command without any thinking and the ones they didnt......well their blood splattered the walls in defiant decoration to show anyone thinking of disobeying him just how he handled betrayal and free thinking from his men. He didnt care either if they respected him or just feared him, to him they were the same. You followed his orders, you lived for now. You didnt you would be praying the enemy killed you before Steve had a chance too because if he felt in a mood, he would drag your death out until you were begging for death and then simply keep dragging it on until your body killed itself and the last thing you would see was his dark smile creasing his lips. No one dared stand up to him.

Soldiers he tolerated, scientists only when they were of use to him. Everyone else was free game to him. If you were of use, he would acknowledge your existence, if not you were nothing to him. Same with relieving himself, if he wanted to fuck you, he never asked, he just took what he wanted from you, not caring if you couldnt take it either. After all, why would he care about you when you were just a fuck toy he was using for a couple of minutes relief. He was nothing like Captain America from other realms, he was Captain HYDRA; the ultimate super soldier in every way.

"Sir it's to another dimension " he dragged the scientist up to his feet as he began to tremble in fear "To where?" He snarled at the scared man "I....I....I dont know" with one swift action he broke his neck "the next person who cant answer my fucking question gets thrown in" everyone frantically tried to work out where.

He smiled to himself, another dimension, another Earth, he had helped HYDRA gain power over the world here and keep it. He was known as HYDRAS main man and he thrived upon it. If this other world wasnt ruled by them then maybe it was time it was "Sir, we have visual contact"

Looking up at the screen he saw blurry outlines of people as he snarled recognising some of them "Fury" he had killed him but it could be fun to kill this one too. The rift started to destabilise but he would be damnned if he was going to lose the chance of some more fun so he grabbed some of his men and ran through it just before it disappeared.

Walking slowly into view of the people, he didnt care his men had probably got shredded to pieces by not making it through with him. They were replaceable. "Captain Rogers" Fury questioned him as Rogers perked his brow in curiosity, the way he said it made it sound like this Rogers was on their side. He could feel the disgust inside of him with that thought, his version here working alongside him as a good guy, it was stuff of nightmares.

"But you're dead" another man spoke up in shock as Rogers fought back the urge to roll his eyes at his stupidity every bone in his body wanted to rip his tongue out and feed it him for it but he didnt. He was still assessing his situation and maybe he could play along as another good guy.

"I'm sorry for your loss, but dimensions are being split everywhere..." damn he was sounding like those pathetic scientists . "We need to fix the damage. What better way then teaming up?" He forced a smile, one that didnt look dark as his eyes then landed on a redhead. He would have her bent over that desk and fucking her brains out if he didnt have to play so pitifully good and maybe she would be one that could actually take it. He tried to hide the smirk, it's a shame he couldnt find out. At least not yet, as soon as HYDRA had taken over this world too, he would fuck her and if she was any good maybe he would keep her just for his amusement. Oh the possibilities but then she opened her mouth and he just wanted to ram his cock down her fucking throat to shut that precious mouth up. "So HYDRAs now the good guys" she motioned to his arm badge of the symbol of his home.

He smirked "different dimension love, who says SHIELD are the good guys for me?" He winked at her as soldiers attacked him and he snapped their necks, earning him a small fight and guns being to his head. He wasnt going to get anywhere with them all dead, so didnt show what he was fully capable of yet and put his hands up "well where we come from, HYDRA are the bad guys and were not taking any chances"

It had been at least three weeks since he was thrown in this god forsaken cell. Not that it bothered him, it gave him time to analyse and plan. If he wasnt sat up on the bed, he was doing press ups or walking around his block to keep his body moving but, even though he refused to show it, he was a restless beast trapped in a cage biding it's time before it attacked its prey. Two more days later and the opportunity leading to that might had reared its head.

"Our HYDRA has a device that can be of use to fix all the dimensions effected by the rift. You and Agent Romanoff will infiltrate and get the device. If you help us fix the rift we will let you go back to your dimension alive" he smirked at Furys words, Steve saw right through him, there was no chance in hell that these people would let him go back. His eyes deliberately walked all over her body before looking back at the man who thought he was in charge. This could be fun with her and he could bring down SHIELD here too. Throwing the lion back into the lions den....no wonder SHIELD didnt survive long in his world the idea of her company amused him too, which was rare so he nodded "very well, I'll be a good boy and play nice"

The woman scowered at him "or meet the end of my knife. Either way suits me" he looked at her and grinned, she was feisty and loved knives....now she just got a hell of a lot kinkier. Maybe he would keep her after all but then again he never really was much to keep things around and he had to play along for now.

"Lead the way, red" he smirked as they handcuffed him but his eyes stayed on her. fuck her and kill her, fuck her to death, just kill her or keep her as his own personal cum bucket. It was fucking awful he couldnt do any as he played the good boy. He was going to find a way back or turn this world into his own. Either way he wouldnt let some fiesty little redhead stop him. In time, he would double cross her and enjoy every fucking moment of it.

Sorority merger

Mia stood humiliated outside the Alpha Phi sorority house after being laughed at by the head of it, the blonde bombshell bitch called Louise.

Mia was disappointed but expected the rejection. Thankfully she had a back up plan. A magical ring that gave her a wish once a year. It was how she got into this expensive university in the first place even though her family was dirt poor.

When she used it to get in she didn’t do it for personal gain, she wanted to become a doctor, to help people and this university was the best place to do it. Her house had a lot of kind and good women and needed to survive which is why at that moment she used the ring once again.

“Well I wish you would merge with me.” She said choosing her words poorly. What she wanted was for Louise to except the offer but was going to get a lot more than she bargained for.

Suddenly Louise was being dragged towards Mia by an unseen force. She tried to run in the opposite direction but it was no good. Mia didn’t know what to do as she stood paralysed in fear as her enemy came hurtling towards her at speed.

It seemed like Louise would crash into Mia when suddenly instead she phased into her like a ghost and disappeared. Mia didn’t have time to react to it though as changes started to happen to her body and mind.
