pissed about the concept of rent also
#i dont think humans are inherently evil but i do think humans are inherently inclined to seek prestige#and to be protective of who gets to be in your 'in-group'#and those patterns can be unlearned but my point is#i think capitalism feeds into the worst parts of human nature because it creates an environment where#exploiting others and depriving them of money/power is not only acceptable but inventivized and glorified#hoarding power-as-money is admirable#theres nothing intrinsically wrong with wanting prestige; right#but capitalism encourages and rewards seeking it at any and all cost#(as long as the cost isn't money anyway -#(but morals? the environment? human lives?#(pay away!)#anyway i think the fact that it kind of exploita human nature is#part of why capitalism has such a strong global foothold#the ideas that fuel capitalism are those that everyone is susceptible to#one imagines colonialism is also a big part of it#but anyway
