Eliot Pov

Cheerful. She’s always cheerful.

She is also funny, and won’t hesitate to put me in my place.

Her hair.

Her hair looks so soft, every time we pass each other I can catch her scent, which smells so sweet and nice.

Her eyes.

Beautiful orbs that can pierce through anyones gaze.

Her mind. So strong, and determined.

My lieutenant… my little lieutenant…

“Eliot? Hello? Eliot!” Someone suddenly calls. Ah, yes, the meeting…

“I can hear you clear, captain!” I grin.

“Do you have anything to add?” Theo asks me exasperated, understandable, since I spaced out again.

“Nope, nothing on my end ma’am”

“Good. Everyone return to their work then.”

“Yes sir” Everyone says monotonously, as we all stand up to leave.

“Eliot? Where are you going?” My lieutenant asks as she taps me on my back.

“Uh, my work? Didn’t captain say that, lieutenant?” I tell her with a smirk. She looks at me with a smile that makes it seem like she holds all the information, which as far as I know, she does.

“You didn’t listen to the captain again did you? We have to go ask the councilor some questions again, remember?” She told me matter of factly. Ah yes, that… I’m going to question the councilor with her. Alone. In a car. Oh who knows what might happen inside of that car... No brain, no perverted things, yet...

“Let’s go Eliot!” She started pulling my arm to drag me along, “You’ve been standing there now doing nothing, we have to go” She scolded me again. I love her scolding. Especially in her voice. It makes it sound threatening, but also kind at the same time.

Once we entered the car we started making a bit of small talk on the way there. At one point the conversation ended, making room for a slightly uncomfortable silence. Maybe I’m only uncomfortable, and she is completely fine? I take a look at her face that is staring at the road in front of us as she drives, and I suddenly can’t hold it back anymore.

“Hey, lieutenant?”

“Wait, me first. I have something to tell you which is quite important” she cuts me off as we near a traffic light. Dammit, it’s probably about the case. I make a sound signaling that she can speak.

“I- I think I like you…”

Everything stopped.

Time, my heart, my brain, everything. This is the first time she rendered me speechless.

“Oh my god, why?”

“I’m sorry that was weird, oh damn now I made it uncomfortable I’m sorry forget I said anything” She quickly rambled.

“No no no. I don’t want to forget. I wanted to say the same… I also really like you”

Damn… I don’t think I’ve ever been happier.
