Magolor & Inki
I’m still pondering how their relationship would exactly develop, but I am also incapable of being quiet, so have some general ideas on how their relationship would go (The worst I’ll mention is the final boss of the main story on Halcandra, and him traversing a different dimension - not gonna say another word of Magolor’s epilogue besides that.)
SO- Magolor and Inki would meet after the events of KRTDLDX, which would happen after the anime (in my messy timeline anyways JKHSDG)
At the start, Magolor would not trust Inki for a single second, thinking there is some kind of catch. In his mind, there’s no way someone is being kind for no reason - he played nice with Kirby before he backstabbed him and he’s anxious that karma will make itself known here.
Ironically, Inki wants nothing in return - she just happened to find him injured and unconscious nearby, and of course she wouldn’t just leave him there, or anyone. She just wants to give him a place to recover safely, and doesn’t mind the company. Although its a very snip-snappy company, Magolor being very resistant to talk back a lot. It would be a very long road to get there.
Slowly, Magolor would go back to his charming, though deceptive self. Knowing Inki has some kind of connection with Kirby, he’d chosen to stick around and see if he can get to Kirby that way, still bent on some form of payback - so he stuck with her, thinking it would be easier to just play along. Oblivious, Inki would just appreciate another friend around, unaware of what his intentions were.
...and that choice would backfire, because as they spend time, Magolor finds himself genuinely enjoying his time, he starts cracking jokes and share silly stories that make Inki giggle, and Inki would love to share with him some of her latest paintings and practice spells together. And that’s when he starts having second thoughts - after what happened in the other dimension, after what the Master Crown had done to him, how badly his plan had lacerated his very being... could he really afford to go down a similar path again..?
It turns into a lot of conflicted feelings for him - still feeling some form of resentment, but also... regret. About his actions, how he betrayed true friends for his own goals - and lose it all in the end because of his own foolish choices. Is that a mistake he’s willing to make twice, and pick the same consequences again?
And... fear. Fear of feeling that again, the possession of the crown. How it had altered his appearance until it was nothing but eerie flames and the power of the crown controlling him, yet he was conscious throughout it all, unable to resist when he had realized what a terrible error this was. And, although repressed, fear of facing Kirby and his friends again. How would they react..?
Even if he did want a second chance (which of course he didn’t why would he shhh) would they give it to him? He tries to resist all those feelings back, but. One can only hold their inner turmoil for so long. During this entire time, Inki does realize something is off with Magolor, and wants to offer him her support, but she can only do so much without knowing the core of the problem.
So for now, she gives him space when he needs it, but emphasizes he knows where she is if he needs something. And that, although he appreciates it - also frightens Magolor - that same feeling of weakness and vulnerability.
But. Perhaps he’ll take up on that one day. Not anytime soon, however.
