Its real cool when you stop enjoying smthn because of the bullshit surrounding the other people who enjoy said thing
#this is mostly abt kpop but it can apply to other stuff as well#im just incredibly tired of the fans who ship either themselves with the people in the band or claim that any interaction is 'PROOF'#that theyre in a relationship#this is mostly targeted towards male kpop idols from girls who sexualize gay men#its a complete devaluation of the actual work these artists are putting into what they're making#many of the artists are using their voices to bring recognition to a wide variety of issues surrounding not just their field but globally#from mental health. the diets they get put on. anti asian hate to the blatant racism they and other poc experience in the music industry#all of that goes basically in the trash because of the fans that want to treat them like pretty dolls to play with or objects to thirst over#and its such bullshit#i cant tell you the sheer amount of different tags ive blocked just to try to keep out of that side of the fanbase#but no matter what theres always some new tag or they just dont tag it at all#and im honestly just- so tired of it#the whole kpoppie thing groups in people who dont want to participate in that shit- including myself#all i want is to listen to good music and to people trying to do good things with the platform they've been given#but do i want to risk being grouped with the kinds of people who are just- extremely disgusting? no#so i started to unfollow and avoid all things related to kpop in general#maybe im just being over dramatic- i dunno#im not that kind of person so to be dragged into it because i enjoy music in a different language just feels shitty#im just being dumb or something ig#pedigree rants#pedigree rambles#personal rant
