#can’t believe how many people are vile and vicious about mp just because harry is in it#unfortunately the homophobic responses to the movie were to be expected but the way people reduce it to a ‘hating on harry styles fest’#because apparently that’s cool rn#the way i saw someone call it giving a platform to a queerbaiter just yesterday is making me sick#especially when the movie does such a wonderful job portraying the complexities and pressures of closeting#to disregard the brilliancy of cinematography and storytelling that the film brings to life#the beautiful work done by all the actors of the young as well as older versions#the absolute care and love that obviously went into making this happen the details the touches the intimacy the music the slightest twitch#of a muscle is all so purposeful and thought out and beautifully put together#as everything the movie has its drawbacks back they’re not harry being in the movie and refusing to look past him at the work as a whole is#just not cool or edgy but ignorant and making you miss out on an important and emotional experience#similarly don’t like the film being purely reduced to comparing harry’s personal life to it and making it about larry purely#and solely like of course they are there and it is an important factor in Harry’s portrayal of Tom for sure but I’d hate to see that#overshadow everything else about the film and the role
