What's your opinion on the news that HBO is planning to adapt The Conquest of Westeros?

my opinion is that they might as well idc!!! fire & blood just isn't a good enough book to be getting precious about. like i know we love minor characters here in asoiaf fandom but Aegon and Rhaenys have all the complexity of a sim on paper. Visenya is a fair bit more interesting but relative to the characters of the main series, that's not saying much. the conquerors are most interesting when fandom tries to extrapolate about what their characters and relationships might've been, so if HBO want to play then whatever they can have at it

anyway i don't think it's the most interesting part of targ history to adapt by a long stretch, so they might struggle to make something good out of it?? I think it would really have to rely on how compelling they can make the conquerors as characters. maybe it'd be more interesting if they covered up to the reign of Jaehaerys I but I'm still. eh
