In love with how expressive sokka is
He’s literally one of the characters who’s emotions is so loud and could easily be an entire personality but he switches up so seamlessly it’s just beautiful to watch. Sometimes he’s grumpy and cranky like when he’s sleep deprived or grieving. Other times he’s extra animated and excited when it’s about things he loves like seeing his friends after a long time, going shopping, watching earth rumble bruh i just know that man’s a fanboy. Sometimes he’s so logical and serious it’s insane how did this dude that was squealing a minute ago about his sand moulding of suki switch up to a tactician to slicing melon lord’s head without a thought ? !

Imagine Zukka but after the war and because in this au sokka and zuko has a thing in Ba sing Se but they both pretended it never happened and didn’t tell anyone about it. After they both end up together when Zuko is the fire lord and Sokka is the ambassador of republic city Sokka sometimes calls him Lee to tease him and Zuko just blushes cause it reminds him of all the time they has sex during his work break somewhere at the back of the teashop or in his room upstairs with sokka sneaking in and out and uncle Iroh just convinetly disappearing whenever Sokka comes in. In love with the dynamic where one of them takes care of the other one not in a ‘it’s their job/gender role’ kinda way but in a ‘I love you so much so I absentmindedly do things that make life easier for you and it comes so easily cause loving you is like breathing to me’ kinda way.
And this is why I believe zukka is the ultimate ship because my headcanon is that they’re quite in sync with themselves (obviously boiling rock episodes) and when they start working closer they just pick up habits and remember stuff and they treat each others wounds, zuko makes sokka healing tea when he’s ill, sokka knows the specifics of how Zuko likes his food. 🥹
Sokka knows just how and when to hold Zuko after a day of running a nation, Zuko gets Sokka random trinkets and seashells from his travels.

Head canon timeeeeeee
So
Sokka’s house is chaotic.
And not in a ‘oh my god I don’t know how to clean up my home’ but more like there’s always an art project laying around half intentionally but I’m running out of space and book shelves and table tops’
Cause let’s be honest
Sokka is a man of many hobbies. In mordern day he’d be the target audience of YouTube videos that go ‘how to make money if you’re interested in too many things’ and that’s him.
He has journals and notepads stuffed on a mini shelf because he prefers writing on paper than a laptop. He makes comics but sketches different ideas on paper as well so he has a different one for that.
He’s into sculpting although he’s not too good at it but it calms him a lot so he plays with clay often when he’s stressed and from that comes ceramic plates bowls mugs cute trinkets random pieces that could be in between a fish or a cat no one knows but sokka claims it’s a wolf.
He likes painting also for fun so he gets cheap canvas and paints, his walls are filled with all his not so pretty painting projects and like I mentioned earlier he’s running out of space to store them and he can’t afford to rent an external store.
He once tried making custom shoes that didn’t go too well so the tools are hidden somewhere under his bed.
He works as an engineer so he does a lot of tinkering with PCs and what not but that’s more merciful because he does that at the workshop and only brings home some personal projects he did for fun. And Sokka likes to hoard things so he keeps the birthday gift aang got him seven years ago cause it’s cute and handmade, has a box of birthday cards he’s gotten over the years he’s which is a lot.
His house is clean, there’s always a clear path to walk through, he barely cooks so he doesn’t need to wash the dishes, he made himself a self timing vacuum cleaning machine so there’s that, he does his laundry frequently because he has a huge disgust for sweat smelling clothes and he sweats a lot hence he has to wash after every wear, stressful but necessary for his sanity.
Zuko likes staying over at Sokka’s place cause there’s always something new to find.
Zuko: you made a teddy bear?
Sokka: oh that was a high school project for my sewing class
Zuko: *nods cause that’s a regular Tuesday with sokka*

I feel like part of the appeal of Sokka to Zuko is how that boy is literally 4k.
Man has such a wide wideeeee range of emotions and hobbies and interests but what really turns him on is Sokka’s switch up from comedian to logical strategist. That boy would be cracking silly jokes making Zuko laugh his butt off but the minute he feels it’s serious Sokka gets into his serious voice, there’s a slight show of his eyebrows being drawn and when he’s really mad about something the boy’s just firm and adamant on his point of view and Zuko just- oof so hot.
Or when Sokka starts getting excited about his invention and Zuko grows fond but lost when he starts speaking in physics.

Headcanon Sokka is a hair person. He’s the equivalent of a black girl with natural hair that’s graduated from the university of YouTube.
Man loves beading and styling his hair by himself. He puts in braids and some beads that keeps him connected to his culture and makes him feel himself. All this after he’s had a long journey of experimenting with hair colors styles cuts and all of that.
When he starts dating zuko he spoils the boy by appointing himself his hairstylist. Cause I also Headcanon that their hair types are different he’d study the whole thing again just so zuko feels pretty all day everyday and he teaches him a few things on maintaining too

Sokka and Zuko would both make good teachers and dads tbh clearly canon with how Izumi turned out and apparently Sokka has no known kids but I think he’d be a great mentor teacher figure like piandao was to him.
Case in point when this dude was just 14 and he was already ‘Training’ the young boys in their village if they were t at war I bet he’d have been teaching them stuff his dad taught him. Another point is sokka loves to learn. Right from meeting suki his desire to learn literally helped him unlearn his misogyny. I feel people that are generally very teachable and can humble themselves to start from scratch make really awesome teachers and kids would love sokka as a teacher
I mean who wouldn’t? He’s super fun and doesn’t learn with the textbook format so he’s already open to kids learning via different methods and actively encourages it. He’s quite receptive to change as well so yes sokka as a teacher/mentor
