He had his suspicions, even before the final trial, but he could never approach you about it.

How could he? He just loved you so much, what if he was wrong? If he accused you of killing all your other classmates, but you were innocent, how would you think of him then? You can’t apologize for that.

But he was wrong, and here you are, laughing in his face about how cowardly and pitiful he is.

You used him so you could get away with all of the deaths you caused, because you know he’d never blame you.

He’s sobbing, he’s screaming at you, his fists are clenched, and his heart is breaking...

But he won’t back down. No matter how much it hurts to go against you, even if he trembles and stutters, there’s a new fire in his eyes. He can’t lose sight of the truth.

Rantaro Amami

At first, he’s shocked. He can’t find the words to say. Even as you mock his intellect and insight, it’s as if you’re talking to a statue. He doesn’t react and is practically breathless.

For a minute, you think you’ve broken him. Everyone is staring at Amami, worried. Was it too much for him?

But he takes a deep breath and grips the podium as tightly as he can, head down.

When he raises it again, there’s tears in his eyes. There’s so much sorrow in them, not anger, like you expected.

He wanted to escape with you. Both of you had promised to look out for one another so it could happen.

But knowing that you made all those promises, and you were the one holding everyone here... it left a bitter taste in his mouth.

His sadness turns to righteous anger the longer the trial goes, and once you’re properly punished, he blames himself for not being able to see it from the beginning.

Kokichi Ouma

He doesn’t believe you at first. You’re just trying to one up him now, aren’t you? Come on, what can be worse than a SHSL Dictator?

You were the kinder one. His moral compass. And he knows evil when he sees it. You aren’t evil. You’re way better than him.

But as you explain, still speaking so sweetly, he understands, and he’s terrified. His s/o was more evil and cunning than he could’ve ever imagined, and they managed to keep this hidden from him?

He starts threatening to get his cult together to ruin your life, for betraying him, for lying to him, but he’s crying as he’s yelling at you, by the end of his rant, he’s completely broken down and sobbing.

You tell him that his little threats are cute, that’s why you’ve always liked him. He’s so wrapped up in trying to be more trouble than he really is that he doesn’t get that trouble has been standing next to him the entire time.

He’s completely useless while the trial goes on because he can’t believe that he was so wrong about you.

He really thought you loved him.

Kiibo

There must be something malfunctioning, he thought he heard you say you were the mastermind...

No, that wasn’t a malfunction. Everyone is looking at either you or Kiibo, and none of those expressions are good.

He’s horrified that you would do this. Why would you kill people with no reason? What have they done to deserve this?

There has to be a reason. And if he knows the reason, you could be fixed. You could learn the error of your ways. You can live.

You hated humans, you explain. All they’re good for is causing suffering and pain, no matter their intentions. So there isn’t a reason. You manipulated everyone to kill each other just because you could.

Kiibo was the only one who deserved your kindness because he wasn’t human. And that made him better than everyone.

He desperately doesn’t want to believe this is what you really were.

But there is no choice in the matter.

Gonta Gokuhara

He immediately counters anyone who accuses you. With no hesitation, he defends you.

Normally Gonta isn’t one to jump into the argument, but he can’t just stand by and let people think so lowly of you. You’re a good person!

His arguments are weak and unorganized, and everyone can tell he’s doing it out of desperation.

You laugh. Because this is exactly why he was the perfect person to get close to. He was your loyal dog, your shield, and you would never be hurt while he was around.

You confirm out loudthat you are the mastermind.

Gonta’s heart stops. He looks at you in horror. But you were so good to his bugs. You were accepting and loving to him. How could this be the real you...?

Tears of grief are flooding down his face and he can’t help but be sad for the both of you. The realization is coming to him in waves.

He hates the fact that he still loves you.
