I think it's hilarious that the gratuitous flossing gag in the s4 premiere set so many people off, considering how many of the same people will continue to gush over the gratuitous AtLA references (and yes, it seems there was at least one in the new season). Like, yeah, it was sooo cringe and unfunny to make an outdated meme reference for the kiddies, but constantly invoking funnier or more iconic material from a show that ended over a decade ago? Love it, doesn't smack of nostalgia bait and insecurity in your own creative vision at all
