What I love about them: His design is top tier. I’m glad he’s openly acknowledged as one of the most if not the most prettiest twst character.

It’s a bit harder for me to put him into words but I’ll try. His complexities and frankly, insane amount of issues is just so compelling to me. He’s also genuinely entertaining and a delight whenever he’s on screen.

I find myself wanting him to achieve his dreams and get the hell out of this hell hole, but also he can suffer just a little bit more.

What I hate about them: He’s so WEIRD. It’s endearing, but sometimes you just sit back and watch him have whole rants in his head and him acting up that makes you want to splash water on his face lmao

His obsession with power dynamics is understandable given how he grows up and lives but my MAN!! SNAP OUTTA IT!! (Its okay, he can be a little delusional)

Favorite Moment/Quote: I could pull up the quote but I don’t feel like it, so I’ll just describe the event

It’s when everyone is watching the fireworks show at Scalding Sands and Jamil just quietly calls out to Kalim and admits that he was actually enjoying being there with everyone (‘not so bad’ as he says)

I cannot emphasize how HUGE that is for him. Any semblance of this man finally opening up, communicating and being happy I gRASP for. It’s always the tiniest baby steps, and the fact it was such an innocent confession.

It’s probably been years since Jamil thought he could talk to Kalim about something and sought him out. But he did it. *wipes tear from eye*

What I would like to see more focus on: Just begging on my hands and knees to see Jamil have more good experiences. Let him travel, let him have some sort of fun without some kind of catch lol

What I would like to see less focus on: Can there stop being vignettes where the whole plot is that Jamil is miserable and no one cares?? I swear this has happened more than once but I could be wrong. But yeah, the Sunset Savanna vignette where Jamil is just running around stressed out looking for Kalim and Kalim’s just like “lol yeah but everything worked out” and it’s like, KALIM MY BOY I BELIEVED IN YOU!! (But that’s another wish I have for a different character obviously. And I get not every vignette can be post 4 development)

Favorite pairing with: I am an MC x Jamil shipper, so what?

But honestly this man can get paired up with anyone and it would be enjoyable. Like Sebek, Azul or Emi—

Favorite friendship: I’m not delusional, Jamil seems to actually be decently close to MC. Like there’s actually some respect there. Also he’s gotten Sebek a birthday present every year since Sebek got him that travel guide book and I think that’s sweet

NOTP: I’m not really against anything in general. I personally think that, in the context of Jamil and Kalim, they need to actually work on being friends- real equal friends, before they could consider being in a romantic relationship.

Favorite headcanon: I’m kinda stumped atm but I do think Jamil is going to get a Macaw one day and he’s going to love them.
