As I played through the story mode in confronting Devil Jin, I come to realize that he wasn’t truly EVIL…

… but he is protecting Jin all along since right from the start.

In Your Arms
A/N: I’m back after many, many months. I’m sorry for not posting for a really long time. I saw Tekken: Bloodline and decided to write something about Jin...he needs like a massive hug.
Pairing: Jin Kazama x Reader
Summary: Jin’s been pulling away from you slowly and you wish that he wouldn’t. You wish that he would confide in you.
CW: Mildly angsty
You could see that he was pulling away from you. Instead of finding warmth between the two of you, he was running towards the sting of the fight. It was a mostly silent affair. He wasn’t explicitly saying he couldn’t make time for you. He was just saying that he had to practice more. On the outside, it just seemed like he was training to become stronger. Stronger, stronger, stronger. That was what he seemed to care about.
On the inside, you could sense that something was stirring internally. Whether he wanted to admit it or not, you knew. You wanted Jin to do well. You wanted him to succeed with his dreams. But a part of you wondered if it was truly worth it. Especially considering how he was shifting from the person you once knew. You knew it was his grandfather’s influence working on him. Any criticisms you had of Heihachi didn’t matter though. What mattered was what Jin believed to know.
Even so. You just wanted him to rely on you. You wanted him to know that while he was getting stronger, he could still be weak around you. There was no need to play a façade with you.
You’d gotten home earlier than expected from your studies. Surprisingly, he was home too. You hadn’t properly seen him in several days. He was always there by the time you were falling asleep and gone by the time you were waking up. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he looked so sad. Sad was the best word you could use to try and describe him. A brief moment of vulnerability that vanished the moment that he looked at you. An attempt at a smile that tried to unsuccessfully hide what he felt. His eyes couldn’t hide the emotions that he felt. The quiet was loud.
Something was stirring inside of him and bouncing around his head. You didn’t know what it was. You had a feeling as to what it could relate to, but that was it. Whenever you tried to press the topic, he would push it away. He would reassure you that he was okay. That he didn’t want you worrying too much over him. But how could you not worry about him? How could you not worry for someone who has so much hurt? You wanted Jin to stop running from you.
You walked towards him without saying anything. Bruises scattered around his body from the training he did with Heihachi. You’d done your best to try and take care of every single wound, but sometimes, it wasn’t enough.
You gently wrapped your arms around his neck and held him tightly. His hands slowly came to rest on your hips. His breathing was quiet and you could sense his own hesitation to fully hold onto you. You gripped him tighter as tears formed at the corners of your eyes. You silently wished for him to understand that it was okay. That he could hold onto you too. A brief moment passed and you could hear your heart rapidly beating. Slowly, his arms came to wrap themselves around you and the two of you were pressed together.
For a moment, the world stops in each other’s arms.

Preliminary Poll
Jin Kazama
Tumblr media
Submission reason:
Straight up assassinated and derailed my man's entire personality by making him contradict his entire character in the previous games, war crimes, lying to Eddy that he'll save his master, murdered some poor Spanish lady, probably killed some other people, and also made him mean to his friends (Hwoarang and Xiaoyu). The creators fucking screwed him over so badly and destroyed his reputation amongst fans just to hype up this new character named Lars who turns out be Heihachi's son. Then they also sidelined him in Tekken 7 to focus more on Heihachi and Kazuya, Jin had almost no screen time. Jin spends the entire game in a come and he also needs to be saved by Hwoarang like a damsel in distress. Jin was the Princess Peach of Tekken 7. So many Tekken characters in general got done dirty (Asuka and Xiaoyu being sidelined so other characters like Lars, Alisa, and Lee could shine). I just think they did Jin the dirtiest. It was so bad that most Tekken fanfiction I read is canon divergent because some of the fans including me pretty much embraced that the creators screwed him over. It's sad how fanfiction and Netflix potray the Tekken characters especially Jin better than the recent games. The Tekken series in general really fell from grace after Tekken 5.
Propaganda:
They didn't have to ruin Jin's character to hype up Lars. Just have Jin leave the Zaibatsu after Tekken 5 to go find his mother and learn about his Kazama powers. Jin wanted to move on from his family drama and he wants to stop desiring revenge. Which leads to Heihachi conquering the Mishima Zaibatsu and starting a war with Kazuya's G Corporation. Kazuya and Heihachi unknowingly unleash Azazel by causing despair, and now they want to get Azazel's power. Lars leaves the Zaibatsu disgusted by Heihachi's actions. Eventually Jin finds his mother, only to watch in horror as society goes to shit. Lars gets Jin to join his rebel army to stop Heihachi. Jin joins Lars's side out of guilt for not stopping Heihachi sooner. Sometimes, all it takes to fix the lore is simply replace one or two characters so the events fit in better with the established personalities and storylines of these characters.
