10-03-23
Dear Diary,
Yesterday was my coaster’s 3rd anniversary, which also meant that it was my birthday. My family pulled out all the stops; the decorations were Spongebob themed, the food was Spongebob themed, the cake was Spongebob themed, my presents were Spongebob stuff— everything was tailored to my hyperfixation. They really did a good job, and I have a whole host of stuff to add to the collection.
I also got a lot of nice messages from the humans who follow my Sponge-Blog (it’s one of the only things they know about me, ‘cuz technically I’m not supposed to interact with them).
But none of this changes the fact that my coaster is still closed for “maintenance”.
It’s been over a month…I think? It was definitely closed after the ACE humans did their event here, but I didn’t actually see when it switched from a “temporary closure”. As of today, the website says it’s supposed to re-open by the end of this week. I’m doubtful it’ll even open in time for Christmas.
I’m not the only one who’s sick, though. Shellraiser’s coaster has been closed for a few days now— the website says he’ll have to wait until Halloween.
In spite of that, he’s still doing his usual jobs and stuff. Of course, Shredder is trying to make him take an actual break (her infatuation drives basically everything she does for him), but he’s stubborn. Even then, I don’t think he’s feeling all that bad. At least, compared to me.
I have a confession to make— but you have to keep it a secret, ok? Don’t pull a “Little Yellow Book” on me!
Ok? Ok.
I kind of…no. I DID put on a mask the entire day.
Not like the usual “I’m trying to be as neurotypical as possible around non-family because what if they think my true self is annoying” mask. A “I’m happy and enjoying my birthday” mask.
They’re not stupid. They know I’m depressed. Even Slime can tell, and by Neptune she’s trying her best to make me feel better.
But all I’ve been doing is making everyone sad, just like how my coaster has been making all the humans sad.
So in the interest of having a “Happy” Birthday, I faked it.
And it worked, because nobody could tell otherwise. In fact, everybody told me how glad they were to “have me back”.
I collapsed into tears the second I went back into my room.
I can’t mask forever, but don’t know how to stop this.
My depression is tied to my coaster. If it re-opens, I feel better. If it doesn’t...
I’ll die.
I don’t know what the humans are doing (or NOT doing) to my coaster. I think the park wants my coaster to be open again??? There has to be a reason why they keep my coaster’s name on the “Ride Maintenance” schedule, right?
They want me around, right?
Maybe my next birthday will be better.
But I don’t know if I’ll have another one to celebrate.

Jersey Devil, fawning over RMC like he regularly does, gains the ire of Toro— who decides to rain on JDC’s parade;
“With the overwhelmingly-postive reception that Arie Force One and Wildcat’s Revenge have garnered, their collaboration with Larson International to expand their ride portfolio, and a new coaster train reveal on the horizon, it only serves to further RMC’s greatness!”
“Yeah, except for the fact that their coaster portfolio is very limited, the list of “RMCable” woodies is shrinking, they’ve yet to design a comfortable restraint system, some of their most popular rides are maintenance heacaches, the general consensus is that their retrack didn’t do shit to help Mine Blower, they may have fucked themselves out of working with Cedar Fair for the foreseeable future, and they can’t think of an original name to save their life”.
“Shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT-“
“Oh, so when I don’t want to hear you shitting on Intamin it’s “just my opinion and I have to respect it”, but the second I do the same to your “precious” Rocky Mountain Construction, NOW it’s a problem?!”
“YOU’RE ONLY DOING IT TO PISS ME OFF!”
“LIKE YOU DON’T DO THE SAME, PENDEJO!”

“…Medusa was closed for a bit, but they re-opened a few days ago. Other than that, we’re holding up well”.
“Huh. How unusual; B&Ms doesn’t usually have that level of downtime”.
“True, but it seems that this park has been struggling to keep all of our coasters up at once”.
“I do wonder why that is, but those humans are keeping that knowledge away from us Coasterdroids…”.
“So, how have things been for you and your parkmates”?
“Oh, the usual; a park like ours doesn’t see much change. But I hear that there’s a new coaster going to Great Adventure?”
“Well, we don’t know for sure— though it’s what we’re hoping for”.
Runaway Mine Train flipped through a photo album, which had slowly accumulated into a dense block of memories.
“It’s the 50th, right? If I were the park president, a new coaster would be the first thing I’d search for. Humans love celebrating anniversaries— and you guys would have someone new to form a bond with”.
“Yes, and I would be more than happy to help them navigate those first few weeks of life. No matter how long you stay at Great Adventure, you are always part of our family”.
Runaway Mine Train found what she was looking for; photos taken during 1984.
“I’ll be sure to visit the park next season— I might’ve been living here since 1994, but could never leave my original park behind. Even if most of it is quite unrecognizable…”
“But you never really forget what was there”.
“Yeah”.
She pulls a photo from within one of the translucent “pockets” of the page.
“Are you reading something, RMT?”
“Hm? Oh, no. I’m looking through my photo album”.
“Ah, the famous album. How heavy is it?”
“A bit too much. It may be time to split this into volumes one and two”.
“Have I caught you reminiscing again?”
“In a way, yes…”
There was a saddness to RMT’s words.
“Diamond Back…you’re aware of the news, right?”
“Yes. I can’t say that it wasn’t expected, unfortunately”.
Contained within the photo was Sarajevo Bobsleds, a fews days after their coaster opened; they had eagerly flashed a grin at the camera.
“Their coaster was closed so often that the park would preemptively list it as “closed for the day” to avoid disappointing their guests, even if it did manage to open that day. Their physical health has been on the decline for years at this point. At least we were given a month’s notice; better than some of the others…”
“I was thinking we stay with them for their last week, but I want to know if you can make it then”.
“I should be able to”.
“Good to hear”.
Runaway Mine Train skipped past a large portion of the album, now examing photos from the past few years.
RMT was standing behind Alpine Bobsled, who was leaning on her for support. Their smile carried a subtle sense of pain.
She pulled the photo out, placing it beside the first one.
RMT sighed.
“Thirty-nine years is a long time, especially for a steel coaster. Heck, I still can’t believe that my coaster’s turning 50 next year. Though I will say…I have been feeling “50” for a while. There’s a reason why Arrow Dynamics went out of buisness all those years ago…”
RMT placed the photos into one of the many unsold photo frames she had collected over the years; it was a temporary home for what would be another addition to her “memorial”.
“But the hardest thing a mother can do is watch her child die, no matter when it happens”.
There’s a pause.
“I’m greatful to have lived this long, to make it to the park’s 50th anniversary. To see how Great Adventure has persisted through numerous harships makes me optimistic about our future— even if I it’s likely I won’t be around for the next 50 years”.
“Still, longevity has its costs”.

“You’re up early”.
Shellraiser glanced down at Sandy, who met him in the middle of the park. While he was used to being the first one awake, the others took a while to follow— but he preferred it this way, as it gave him some quiet time to reflect on the day to come.
But given the circumstances, Shellraiser readily accepted Sandy’s presence.
“Is something wrong?”
“No, actually. I just…woke up. Stopped being tired. Got out of my room for once. Isn’t that good? I mean, I’ve been staying inside my appartament a lot— ever since my coaster’s been closed”.
Sandy took a quick glance back at their coaster; it was already illuminated by sunbeams.
“Those humans have been there since I woke up”.
“Yeah, I noticed”.
Shellraiser expected Sandy to be happier about this development, but perhaps they didn’t catch on to what he was suggesting. He took a more direct approach;
“You know, this could be the day your coaster re-opens”.
Sandy pondered for a bit.
“Maybe. They did test my coaster’s turntable on Sunday…”
Normally, Shellraiser would be engaging in his morining exercise routine, but he opted for a leisurely walk around the mall— it was something more at Sandy’s speed.
“Y’know, would be funny if they re-opened it today”.
“How so?”
“It’d be funny…because Wildcat’s Revenge is opening today. Y’know, the park sees that Hershey’s got this brand-new RMC that’s gonna be popular and bring in vistiors and all that, so our park’s like “this is the perfect time to re-open Sandy— in fact, we’ve been wating ‘till June 2nd this whole time! Now, we can get the vistiors to stop here on their way so that we can make some of that sweet, sweet chocolate money”! Although I guess you could just go to ITSUGAR if you wanted “chocolate money”. Pretty sure they sell that there”.
“Chocolate money? Did you say chocolate money?”
Sandy couldn’t help but smile.
“Yes, sir— with or without nuts”!
Sandy laughed.
“Did I get it right?”
“Nailed it!”
Suddenly, Sandy felt an all-too-familiar buzz. They hand-flapped in response. Shellraiser looked at them with concern.
“Is this a good or bad stim?”
“…Good. I think. Hold on. Hold on”.
Sandy got themselves ready.
“I want to try something”.
Before Shellraiser could give his output, Sandy bolted across the walkway.
A few moments later, Sandy passes by Shellraiser again— but running backwards.
Sandy eventually returned, digging their heels in to stop.
“…How do you feel?”
While not losing their innate ability to “launch”, it required more of their energy to pull off because their coaster was SBNO. As such, previous attempts had resulted in them feeling fatigued for the rest of the day.
But this time was different.
After waiting for the usual signs of tiredness, Sandy took a deep breath.
“…Ready”.
Shellraiser took advantage of his own “launch” power to quickly get the two back to the park’s entrance. Just off to the side was the park’s ticket booth, which also contained information about the rides that would be closed today.
After a handful of test runs, Sandy’s Blasting Bronco was no longer on that list.
Sandy watched eagerly as visitors piled into their coaster’s station, with Slime Streak close by.
“Can you believe Shellraiser knew this whole time? He must be a wizard!”
“I don’t think he knew this whole time, Nick— and he’s definitely not a wizard. But…”
Their coaster’s train soared up past the two.
“I’m glad his prediction came true”.

Silly (non-canon) story time…
Batman, Skull Mountain, Superman, Toro and Joker go on a “guys trip”. Not wanting to rely on taxis or a ride-hailing app, the group decides to rent a car.
At the car rental place, Toro has to deal with an issue relating to the group’s chosen accommodation— he leaves the rest of the group to choose their car, confident that they’ll pick something within the budget.
Ultimately, the group is able to secure a car for a relatively cheap price; it’s a fairly new car, so it has the usual modern safety features and phone connectivity. Toro is happy to recieve a text from Batman that states these things— but Batman crucially doesn’t say what kind of car it is. This is deliberate on his part, and the group knows that Toro is gonna chew them out for it (of course, Joker finds this hilarious and struggles not to burst out laughing when he hears Toro approaching). “Sounds like you guys found a good car, I’m so glad we’ll be able to drive around without having nothing left to spend-“
Toro gets a good look at the car.
“You MOTHERFUCKERS!”
It’s a red Kia Soul.
Needless to say, Toro despises every second he has to spend in the car that inspired the park to wrap a gaudy advertisement over his coaster’s “B” train for over a decade.

Medusa glanced at her coaster, still sitting idly. Runaway Mine Train stood beside them.
“Two weeks until this area of the park re-opens… at least, that’s what we’ve been told will happen”.
“I’m sure the park will have found enough staff by then. Memorial Day weekend has always been a big time for us, and all those students and international workers would’ve been ready to work”.
“And Opening Day isn’t?”
“No, but the humans should know to not expect everything to be open”.
“Yeah, but that’s to things like food stands and park entertainment. Not what amounts to basically half the coaster line-up. What was different this year? This park has been through economic resessions, tourism crashes, parent company bankruptcy, managerial shifts, and a global pandemic. Out of the 49 seasons Great Adventure has been open…why is this the first time the park has done something like this?”
Medusa was hurt by the park’s decision not to open her coaster in time for opening day. To tout her coaster around one season as a “new experience” only to push its opening back because it was seemingly “unimportant” felt like betrayal.
“Never once has this park felt so incompetent”.
“But we’re getting better as the season goes on. Is that not a sign of things to come?”
Medusa looks at Runaway Mine Train.
“Sure, if you believe it”.
“Then maybe you should start believing in our future. Our 50th anniversary is next year, and I hope that this park will continue to operate for another half-century”.
Medusa thinks about RMT’s advice.
“I guess if the park bothered to refurbish my coaster in the first place, they still think I have some merit. That goes for all of us, since everyone’s still here after the off-season. But I guess it could be a lot worse, for all of us. I’m glad to have stuck around— and for everyone to have stuck around with me”.
Toro’s coaster sits ildly.
“…And despite all my grievances, I’m not in the least-favorable situation around here”.

Toro and Batman hear the sound of JDC screaming his head off in the distance. Toro rolls his eyes at the sound, but Batman has no idea what’s going on.
“What’s he yelling about?”
“If I had to guess, either RMC announced that they’re building a 500 ft. “T-Rex” coaster, or the Devils beat the Rangers after their first two losses. Better question is….who’s more annoying— RMC Fanboy JD or Devils’ Fanboy JD?”
“Is both an option?”

Toro’s breaths were shaky and heavy, clutching his chest. His mind ran wild with thoughts of imminent dread, wondering if this would be his last day.
All Toro could do was lie on his bed as Toro’s mind held him like a prisoner.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed to life.
Toro didn’t pick up.
After a few more intermittent buzzes, a tune emitted from the phone’s speakers— someone was trying to call him.
Toro still didn’t pick up.
Eventually, whomever was trying to call him was directed to voicemail; it quickly became apparent that the caller took advantage of this.
“Hey Toro…It’s Nitro. I knew something was wrong the moment I realized you weren’t wating outside. I thought about knocking on the hatch to your apartment, but I don’t want to pressure you to respond. That’s why I was trying to contact you over the phone, to keep it between us; I won’t get the others involved unless you want me to. But I want to know if there’s anything I can do to help”.
Minutes would pass before Toro felt well enough to respond.
“You can speak to me in-person”, he texted.
“But tell the others to leave”.
Nitro looked up from her phone.
“You guys have to leave, for now. I’ll give the all-clear when he’s ready”.
The crowd of Coasterdroids dissipated from the area, leaving Nitro to wait inside Toro’s station.
“Have they left?”
“Yeah. I made sure of it”.
After a few seconds, Nitro heard the sound of a door unlocking.
As Nitro entered Toro’s apartment, she could tell immediately that he was tense.
“Something’s not right. We both know that. But I want to know what that is”, she said with empathy.
“You can tell me anything. You know that, right?”
Toro looked at Nitro with mild scorn, though the look was not directly because of her.
“I just want to help”.
Toro turned away from Nitro, pulling his cape over his shoulder.
Nitro waited.
“…I thought this is what I wanted. What I was waiting for ever since I realized the park was givng my coaster a second chance. Once my coaster began testing, I knew it was only a matter of time. Just yesterday, I was delighted to hear that an official re-opening date had been decided. It meant that everything would go back to normal; my coaster would be operating consistently again, the humans would love me again, and I would feel like myself again”.
“But…”
“I watched as employees began preparing my coaster for re-opening. They weren’t encountering any issues, and the weather is nice today. Nothing was wrong”.
“Yet I felt that there was— or more accurately, that something would be wrong in my immediate future. Something that the humans would notice. Something that the humans would tell their friends, or their audience in the case of those enthusiasts. Something that would make the humans doubt”.
“Something that would confirm that my coaster’s glory days are over. That the park shouldn’t have made the effort to repair it, or more alarmingly…that their repairs were insufficient”.
“It was then that I felt a pain building in my chest. I tried powering through it at first. That’s what I always do. But it became…too much. It all became “too much”…”.
Toro’s voice trailed off. He hung his head down in shame.
“I ran away”.
Toro felt that he had said enough. Although he and Nitro had been friends for seventeen years, he couldn’t help but to expect her disappointment.
“You’re not a coward for feeling this way, Toro”.
Toro picked his head up.
“…what?”
“It’s normal to be scared. We’re surrounded by humans who are scared every day”.
“That’s different”.
“Is it?”
“Yes, because they don’t have to worry about ruining their reputation for rest of time and wasting their last shot at life. All because something that’s not even their fault!”
Toro turned around, his frustration clear.
“I’ve dealt with the negative comments thrown at me all my life just fine! I always have!”
Toro’s hair ignited.
“THIS KIND OF FEAR IS BENEATH ME! A BULL NEVER RUNS AWAY AND HIDES!”
“Toro, please—“
“I’M BETTER THAN THAT”!
“No, you aren’t— NOBODY IS!”
Toro was shocked to hear Nitro yell back at him.
“Nobody’s fearless, Toro. It’s impossible— and more importantly, it’s unhealthy to hold yourself up to that standard”.
Toro let out a snort.
“I know you promised to take care of yourself, Toro. Don’t do this. If not for us…for you”.
Toro remembered why he made that promise.
His hair extinguished.
Toro let out a sigh.
“I…thought…I was better than that….”
“But you shouldn’t have to feel that way”.
“I just…I’ve never reacted like that. I thought that level of dread was something I’d never reach. Then again… I never thought the last two seasons would play out like they did”.
Toro sat down. Nitro followed shortly after.
“Nitro, I want to admit something. Promise you won’t tell?”
“I promise”.
Toro hesitated to speak.
“I…”
His throat became dry.
“I’m not…I’m not the person I thought I was anymore. Neither is my coaster”.
“…and…”, Toro’s voice wavered.
“…I don’t like what I’ve become”.
Toro didn’t want to break down in front of Nitro, steadying his breathing.
“But you want to be better, right?”
Toro looked at her.
“I do”.
“Is that not a good thing?”
“…It’s better than someone who uses themselves as an excuse to be horrible to others”.
“Exactly”.
Toro looked down at his leg. Although it was covered, he could picture that scar in great detail.
“Nothing will ever be the same going forward, will it?”
“It won’t”.
Toro looked back at Nitro.
“I woke up today knowing that my coaster was ready to operate. As I wait for that first train to run, I hopefor the best….or at least I was hoping for the best”.
“We all are, Toro”.
“But the truth is….I’m scared. I’m terrifed. This might be my coaster’s last day of operation”.
“It might not be”.
“But how do I know for sure? How will I know? How will I know my coaster will be safe?”
“You won’t”.
Toro fell silent.
“I won’t. Nobody will”.
Toro turned his body away from Nitro.
“The future isn’t set in stone— if you think too much about it, about what’ll happen in the long-term, you’ll drive yourself crazy”.
“So what should I do?”
“Take it one day at a time”.
Toro looked back at her.
“It’s better to celebrate little accomplishments then to worry about reaching a single big one”.
“…like my coaster being ready to re-open”.
“Yeah”.
Toro turned back around.
“I’ve been working on myself ever since April. I’m not satisfied with myself just yet, but that’s okay. I’ll get there one day, even if won’t know untill it’s that day. Untill then, I’m going to enjoy my life— no matter what obstacles are thrown my way, I’ll overcome them eventually. If I can’t do it on my own, that’s okay. I have friends and family who will help me, and I will always be greatful for their support”.
Nitro smiles.
“I’m not invincible….but I don’t need to be”.
Toro breathes a sigh of relief.
“You know, it’s almost time for the humans to send the first train of the season. I don’t think you want to miss that, right?”
Toro thinks about it.
“Well…I’m still a bit worried”.
Toro stands up.
“….but that’s okay”.
Toro and Nitro exit the station, returing to the group of Coasterdroids eagerly awaiting Toro’s return— now joined by a cluster of humans.
“You are all clear and out of here!”
The first train rolls out of the station, carrying a crowd of humans happily cheering at the ride experince to come.
Toro cheers with them, alongside his fellow Coasterdroids.
The train returns to it’s station, ready to accommodate another set of guests.
“Give it up for the first cycle!”
Nitro and the rest of Toro’s peers cheer for him. Toro bows, then looks up.
“What, no roses?”
They laugh with Toro.
“Y’know, there’s something I didn’t tell you back at the apartment…”
Toro spots something off in the distance— he’s beaming.
“They’re here…!”
Toro runs off towards the entrance to an alternate path to Frontier Adventures.
“TORO”!
“PRIMOS!”
Toro is pulled into a group hug by Colossos, Balder, and T-Express.
“You didn’t think we’d miss the re-opening?!”
“Nitro sent the news over yesterday— I jumped on the soonest flight I could!”
“I’m so happy to see you again!”
“I’m happy too— it’s been too long!”
Toro rarely got to see his cousins in-person, much less so all three at once— but an occasion like this was the perfect time for a Prefab reunion.
Toro called out to Nitro; “Thank you!”
“You’re welcome”, she called back.
While the rest of the day didn’t go perfectly operations-wise, things were an overall sucess. The Coasterdroids of Great Adventure would celebrate with a grand feast— not only for the re-opening, but for Toro’s birthday.
It was perhaps the best birthday celebration he’s ever had.
As the ride ops sent out one last train for the day, Toro couldn’t help but watch— not out of worry to what could happen, but just to appreciate what had been done.
“Despite everything, today was a triumph”.

“Let’s go to a quieter space, okay?”
Lil’ Devil Coaster followed RMT as the two walked past the entrance for Frontier Adventures, an area of the park which had only recently opened for the 2023 season— a first for the park, but a worrying sign for a possible new trend.
While lack of staffing is what kept RMT’s coaster from opening for nearly two months, no explanation was given for why Lil’ Devil Coaster fell into the category of “Coasters not ready in time for Opening Day”. While most coasters who were included in said category were open by this point, Lil’ Devil Coaster continued to lay dormant. The only recent change was an added photo op that depicted the ride’s mascot waving a white flag while crying— those whom ride the coaster for the first time have “beaten” it.
Perhaps as a result of this unplanned extended closure (or just as a mere coincidence), Lil’ Devil Coaster has been under the weather for a few days by this point. In wanting to present him with a different environment, RMT offered to take him to different part of the park.
On their way, RMT passed the wooden “fort” that housed her coaster’s station— and one of two stations for the Skyway, which unfortunately missed it’s intial re-opening date. The colorful cars that once carried dozens of visitors at a time had vanished without explanation— and the ride was no longer listed on the park’s website.
“Please tell me this is only temporary”, she thought.
RMT pushed open the door of the building, a sudden woosh of air conditioning reminding her of the hot temperatures to come as the season goes on. “You won’t have to worry about the heat in here, dear”. Lil’ Devil Coaster looks up at her.
While mostly nonverbal, Lil’ Devil Coaster was most comfortable speaking to RMT— while considering herself as the “mother” of all the Coasterdroids of Great Adventure, it was especially true for Lil’ Devil Coaster, who was most often seen at her side.
Lil’ Devil Coaster looked away from her, taking a good look at his surroundings. He then stuck his hand out and pointed at a statue situated in the middle of the room.
“Best of the West!”
Lil’ Devil Coaster looked back at RMT.
“It’s Best of the West!”
RMT gave a look conveying her understanding of his naïveté, yet conveyed her sense of sadness.
“Yes dear…this was Best of the West”.
RMT watched as Lil’ Devil Coaster went over to lie on a chair, taking in the park’s “new” lounge area.

Green Lantern booked a flight to Louisville as soon as she heard the news. Normally, the yearly visit to old home park was something she looked forward to— but not this time.
The announcement was quiet, perhaps deliberately so; a mere footnote in an email sent to season passholders. Their page on the website deleted, their spot on the map replaced with grass. What was claimed to be a “difficult goodbye” felt effortless on Kentucky Kingdom’s part.
Green Lantern had a feeling T3 didn’t have much time left, especially after Herschend bought the park. A prototype of a now-outdated model, it gained infamy for rough and painful ride experience. Even when the park ordered a new set of trains, it didn’t do much to boost the ride’s reputation. T3 knew they weren’t well liked, but they didn’t care (or at least appeared not to).
Green Lantern found T3 sitting on a bench, staring up at the sky.
“Guess they finally got tired of me”.
As Green Lantern got closer, she could hear their haggard breaths. “You didn’t sound like this over the phone”. “Well, I had only found about my impending death that day. Took a few days, but my body’s starting to give up. I don’t think I can get off this bench on my own, even”. “I’ll handle that”. Green Lantern sat down next to T3, helping them adjust so that they could look at her.
“This isn’t the first time this has happened”. “What?” “I had a cousin down in Australia. Arkham Asylum. KumbaK made them new trains too. One could say that the shutdowns did ‘em in, but I know it was those trains. I can feel it”. T3 winces as pain shoots up their leg. “Because the same things’ happened to me. The fatigue. The pains. The constant technical issues. It’s all because of those damn trains”.
“So they were tearing your coaster apart”. “Afraid so”.
Green Latern felt defeated. As a Coasterdroid, you had to put trust in your park to keep your coaster running as well as it can— but trust is all you get. She began reflecting on her own situation; her was a once-moved, outdated model at a park full of B&Ms.
“I know I’ve made peace with being at Great Adventure and all, but…my coaster is your coaster for that park. Only a matter of time before they get tired of it too”.
“Hey, I’m just glad I was able to cheat death once— not a lot of Coasterdroids can say they watched their park get abandoned, rot away, and come back”.
“I guess you can look at it that way”.
“Yeah, and wherever I end up, I’ll be raising hell either way! Not sure how “bad” it is to be an unpopular coaster, but whoever’s with me is gonna know what real terror is like!”
Green Lantern lets out a small laugh; “Don’t tell Thunder Run, or they’ll be lecturing you as they’re reading their eulogy”.
T3 laughs; “Oh, they totally would!”
Green Lantern spends a few more days with her old park mates, but she has to return to Great Adventure eventually. “Don’t worry about us”, Thunder Run tells her. “We’ll make sure T3’s last days are something they’ll never forget”.
Green Latern isn’t normally the one for hugs, but she pulls T3 in for one knowng that this might be the last time she’ll speak to them. “I’ll always be greatful that I got to call you my friend. Take it easy, okay?” T3 smiles. “You know I won’t”. “I know, I know”.
“But I’m glad to have had a friend like you too”.
The morning after she returned Great Adventure, Green Lantern gazed upon her coaster. With the park relatively limited on space, there were only a few places where a major ride could be placed without any ride removals. Green Lantern knew of her coaster’s reputation, and with Medusa in the same park, there was no chance of a floorless conversion.
Still, Green Lantern knew there was time for her to enjoy what life she had left.

TMNT Shellraiser is the type of person where others have to ask him to rest. Like a “You’re clearly unhappy/sick/in pain, it’s okay to take time off” but he’s like “No! Time is of the essence and I can fight through this!”
The others are fortunate that he’s easily bribed to rest if offered some pizza lol

In reference to an earlier post about Sandy’s Blasting Bronco being down for annual maintenance;
SBB remained hopeful that their coaster would re-open by the posted date (March 10th, iirc), even though the prospect of their coaster being closed for “longer than it should” again worried them. Unfortunately, their coaster would miss that re-opening date, so a new one was set. But then it missed that date, and the next, and the next. With their coaster a double-combo of being from a manufacturer with a penchant for unreliable rides and a prototype model, SBB began to fear the worst for their future— how longer would the park want to deal with their coaster?
It was then when their coaster re-opened ahead of it’s scheduled date (which would’ve been today), just in time to reap the benefits of the spring break crowds.
SBB cried tears of joy at the sound of that familiar LSM whine.
To a Coasterdroid like them, there is nothing more fufilling than seeing your coaster run as it should.

Jersey Devil sees that he (or more accurately, a silhouette of the second-generation RMC Raptor) is on the limited-edtion offical RMC holiday sweater and is absolutely over-the-moon about it. He won’t stop talking about it for an entire day and interrupts breakfast to break the “good news” to everyone;
“Guys…RMC loved me so much that they put me on official merch!”
*tears up*
“I can’t believe I mean so much to them…”
“You know you have a twin sister, right? What if that’s her on the sweater?” [Wonder Woman at SFMM, for thos unaware]
“Toro…I was the first second-gen raptor”.
*gestures to the illustration*
“That’s me. Has to be!”

Despite being part-bull, Toro is not colorblind.

Thinking about Ka and his feelings regarding Top Thrill Dragster’s reimaning…with how dramatic the change is, Ka fears that things won’t be the same between them.
“I knew we weren’t invincible. But it’s something I didn’t want to think about. Then TTD’s coaster was shuttered for the rest of the 2021 season, Cedar Point kept it closed for 2022, and then the announcement…I was suddenly forced to gaze upon death itself. Dragster is fortunate enough that the park wants to refurbish them…but I may not be so lucky when the time comes. Even so…after everything is said and done…will they even remember who I am?”

Despite their hyperfixaton on the series, Sandy isn’t all enthusiastic to see Spongebob win/has won “Best Cartoon” at the Kid’s Choice Awards every single year.
“I’d be celebrating more if it felt like SB had a chance to lose, but…it effortlessly wins year after year. Yeah “award shows are rigged” and all but it’s kind of ridiculous how Nickeldeon’s too scared to let anyone else win. And this is coming from ME, of all people!”
