I've always loved this little moment. I couldn't tell you why other than Natalia and Mieu not really getting much of an opportunity to talk much to each other in the game. And her just taking such an interest in what Mieu was doing was just so cute.

Talestober 2023 Day 26: Starcrossed
Mikleo walks before me, closer to the way he looked when we parted, but with a little extra hair spilling past his chin to rest above his shoulders. He strides through blades of waist-high grass, illuminated only by a silver crescent moon. There is no one around, no path, no familiar landmark in sight, yet his eyes do not leave the vast expanse of stars shining above. It seems like he's using them to navigate.
It's comforting to me, to know that the same stars I departed under on my final night in Lastonbell are still here to guide my friend in my place. But Mikleo's expression holds no wonderment of their beauty, nor joy in their familiarity. His eyes are filled with longing and loneliness, as if the endless ribbon of stars he looks upon is only an empty void. In a whisper as soft as the breeze in the grass, his lips utter one word:
"Sorey..."

Talestober 2023 Day 16: Reunited
"Eizen..?" I say his name experimentally, like an answer to a question I wasn't ready for. Seeing his real face, shed of its scales and cruelty, feels like a dream when all I've known recently are nightmares. In my dreams I had words for him, admonishing, teasing, in control, but the only thing I can muster forth now are big, fat, ugly tears.
They're enough for him. He pulls me into a hug.

As soon as I saw this one I knew I had to rant about the hardest puzzle I've seen in the series so far, the Sandshroud Ruins Circuit Color Fuck puzzle. It's post-game and optional thank god because it took me roughly an hour and a half to solve. I feel like I deserve an honorary electrician degree after that.

Asbel moved before Lambda or Richard or anyone else could stop him. This was the moment he'd been waiting for, the chance to make up for everything. He had sworn he would protect Richard as his shield.
But that didn't make him invulnerable like one.

Who else could I pick for this but Asbel? What with 3/4 of his personality being PROTECC mode, he's my go-to whumpee and angst magnet. Though that didn't stop me from wincing the entire time I drew this.

Talestober 2023 Day 11: A Knight's Duty
Hey it's another abandoned fan fic, Fluri arguments this time. This one is so old I honestly don't remember where I was trying to go with this, but I think it may have involved the Rag Quarion sidequest:
"I've been thinking about quitting the knights."
Yuri's remark caught Flynn by surprise. The relentless midday sun was broiling the dry air around them, and the pockets of heat rippling off the dead grass were turning their own plated armor into convection ovens. A pinkish tinge was beginning to blossom on both of their cheeks, and sweat slicked the hair at the base of their necks. On miserable days like this, it wasn't uncommon for Yuri to threaten to leave, delivered in a low grumble with some cursory words about the Empire. But on this hot, hot summer day, Yuri's expression was alarmingly serious.
"Don't joke like that," Flynn snapped. The heat had a way of hastening his temper. Yuri was good at that too, especially when he was being a whiny, stubborn bastard like he was now.
"I'm serious," Yuri said. "I mean, what good have we done with the knights so far? We're out here guarding a pile of rocks, for crying out loud."
It was true. Their current outpost seemed to be just a natural rock formation with no apparent value and located far south of the walls of the capital, away from the actual citizens in need of protection and assistance. Flynn had experienced a moment of shock upon learning he would be guarding this remote location with Yuri of all people, but he wasn't the type to complain. Not about work, however unglamorous, and not about spending time with his closest friend in the world. Who was also sometimes unglamorous.
"This is a waste of time," Yuri mumbled, and Flynn's anger piqued again.
"I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation as to why we were assigned here," Flynn hissed. "And besides, one bad day is hardly a reason to abandon everything we worked for."
"You mean everything you worked for. If you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly earning accolades."
"That's because you're not applying yourself! You are just as talented, I'm sure of it. You just need to fix your attitude problem—"
"Yeah, yeah," Yuri interjected in a dismissive tone. "Spare me the lecture, I've heard it all before."
"Well maybe you should listen," Flynn said under his breath, but he let the topic go, for now. There wasn't any point in spending the rest of the shift at each other's throats, especially not when they were supposed to be on watch.
A jolly cloud meandered in front of the sun, and for a moment the two savored the cool relief. It wasn't long, however, before the blinding heat erupted from behind its cover, and their temperaments resumed their rise toward a boiling point.
"This is absolutely a punishment," Yuri grumbled again. "What I can't figure out is why they put you here. Did you piss off Cumore too?"
"Not that I'm aware of," Flynn answered, though somewhat uneasily. His work ethic had caught the eye of the higher ups, and while most of what trickled down to him was praise and commendations, there were bound to be those who felt threatened by his advances.
"Yeah, that's impossible, isn't it," Yuri said with a wry smile. "The captains can't stop singing your praises. You're the poster boy for young knight recruitment. I mean literally, I think I saw a recruitment flier in your likeness."
