One question we often get asked is ‘Where did the name come from?’ Well…aside from the fact that everyone loves turtles….rumour has it that the Dark Turtle is symbolic of the sea, the North and the winter. These are three major things that completely resonate with our brand. The North Sea can be absolutely brutal at times🥶Sometimes you have to push yourself to go out but if you can paddle out at Longsands in the dead of winter then, like us, you have cold blood running through your veins. Sometimes the North in general gets forgotten about, we aren’t sure why, maybe it’s the weather 🤷‍♂️ but the surf and SUP community in the North East is absolutely thriving at the moment. It’s great seeing so many incredible brands, groups and individuals up here doing such epic things in the area. We are completely inspired by each and every one of them. At the moment, our main focus is to continue to grow the Dark Turtle community as much as we possibly can. We really believe in the ethos of our brand and we are so fortunate to have so many unbelievable customers who share our passions.
