have YOU ever wanted a one stop shop for major events and when they take place in the Sasaki to Miyano and Hirano to Kagiura series ?!?!??!!!??!?!?!? HAVE I GOT THE THING FOR YOU !!!!

ITS HERE !!! not 100% perfect because it'd never get posted if i tried to make it perfect. there are inconsistencies and probably typos and a fair amount of bias but its something. and also a testament to how crazy this series makes me.

for a little backstory. timestamp on the original document says it was made May 22, 2022, at 8:41 PM. it was intended for personal use when i was in peak kagihira analysis mode, to figure out when things were happening in each series and how they related to each other. if that makes sense. and THEN i started taking extensive and biased notes. probably over-noted too many chapters but WHO CARES ! Anyways and Then i figured the whole world could use this. So here we are

Maybe I’m okay with it if Hirano never traditionally “loves” Kagi. Or anyone. Maybe it never will turn into the same kind of love Kagi feels. Kagi is nevertheless such a source of inspiration and strength and comfort to Hirano. Even if he never feels a desire to touch or get married or whatever. Maybe he does it because Kagi asks and he loves making Kagi happy most of all. He wouldn’t seek it if not asked. But Kagi is always asking. And he knows it makes Kagi happy. Does anyone see the vision. Do you understand. Maybe kagi will be okay with it if Hirano never “loves” him the same way Kagi loves him. Because he knows how Hirano works and he knows how Hirano cares. And he knows he is unique to Hirano. He knows Hirano wouldn’t do these things with anyone else. And that’s still love in its own way.

Anywayyysssss I may be in weirdville recently but BOY do I love kagihira so so so much. They’re everything to me. Like. LOVE !!!! And the way Kagi is so unapologetically in love and the way Hirano is so thoughtful about love and cares about Kagi regardless and oouuughhh got myself right in the gut via remembering light novel scenes it’s so over. Liminality and country roads and fuzzy lights in the distance night and riding the bus together at one am and you’re not sure it’s just the gas station food that’s making you feel warm inside. Sparklers fizzling out that makes you yourself feel burnt out and warm to the tips of your fingers. Whateverrrrr man HIRANO AND KAGIURAAAAAA !!!!! I’m normal

SUNNY WE HAVE A LEVEL 2000 HIRAKAGI INCIDENT GOING ON RIGHT NOW. FULL LOCKDOWN!!

OOOOHHHH MOTHER FUCK ME. GOOD MORNING MALT. I JUST WOKE UP. AND I AM GREETED WITH THIIIISSSSSSSSSS. It’s so much. It’s sooooo much. Im. Not sure how much i can articulate right now. It’s a culmination of so many things. That we’ve been sitting on for so so long. Because this godforsaken series updates so slowly. WHICH IS FINE. I love sitting on things forever until they engrave themselves into my heart. Like the way hirano just wants to make kagi happy. The way he admits he’s been trying to make himself feel the same way kagi does. The way he just wants to make kagi happy. And he is scared that all of this doesn’t make kagi happy. There’s a dissonance between what kagi tells him and what kind of face he’s actually making. He always looks so pained. Because he cant help but think about all the things he doesnt have. And it boils and burns in his blood and down his throat, swallowing every kiss his wants to give and take.

AND THEN LIKE. This theme of moving on. The way hirano thinks to himself that this situation isn’t good. He should let kagi move on. He should let himself move on. But. He doesnt want to do that. I keep thinking about how his conversation would have gone if kagi hadn’t interrupted him. Hey so like. About your confession. We’ve been trying all sorts of things and in the meantime you cant move on— and im sorry but I want to keep trying anyways. Let me keep trying. To understand you. To love you. The same way you love me.

AND THE WORST PART IS. WE’VE MADE POSTS TALKING ABOUT THESE THINGS BEFORE!!!! And thats so great because it’s like. These thoughts and actions just make sense. And it’s such good writing that we’ve been able to see it building up. Of course hirano would react that way. Of course kagi would react that way. There’s no other way this interaction could have gone. And it aligns perfectly with characterization we’ve seen up to this point. Kagi is so full of love and frankly desire that is pulls him at the seems. He’s in constant war with himself, wanting to be respectful but also wanting so much. Im not the good innocent kid you think i am, hirano-san. This is ugly. And im sorry. And hirano is also soooo full of love and just a simple desire to make kagi happy. But also a desire to completely understand him. Inspection. Im losing my thread. Where are those posts about hirano dissecting kagi. To understand is to love. To know is to love. Something like that. Would you, yes you, want to buy him for like $20 at most. Most likely like $15 but idk how much shipping really is. I’m trying to figure it out. If anyone has any tips please let me know. hmm the lover versus the loved. Romances stories where one falls first and can hardly believe the other ever loves them, too. okay dropping all pretenses this is about sasamiya and hirakagi.

Sasaki and kagiura, the lovers, an unwavering yearning and bottomless love for their partners. It’s hard to believe that the other would really love them back because what they feel is so intense and longlasting.

Miyano and Hirano, the loved, never a doubt that they really are loved. It has always been true, and will always be true. To match that love is kind of scary—is what they feel even real if it’s not the same in show and intensity as the other?

There’s certainly more I could think up about this but I can’t find the words for it right now so I’m putting it into the ether for now…

This sequence is particularly getting to me this time. Like. The slow steps away moving to the running. The slow drag down the closet doors. Equally blushing. I can hear the light and playful piano and plucked string instrument music that would be playing. Hirano you’ve got to get someone to talk to about this. That’s preferably not miyano yoshikazu. But like GOD for real. Hirano’s delayed reaction AGAIN like kiri said. Reacting more to the emotion of it rather than physical proximity. But yeah. Really really like these pages

Hirano taiga expects Kagi to touch him and it’s the most crushing realization he’s ever known. Kagi leans over him and he expects Kagi to do something (but what) (what could he possibly do in that position) (what was Hirano expecting him to do in that position) (what did Hirano want him to do in that position).

Kagi leans over him in the quiet afternoon sun and there’s some heightened emotion and relief in the air and Hirano doesn’t move. Kagi leans over him (what was he going to do?) and there’s a beat before Hirano calls out to him and snaps him out of his reverie. And Kagi leaves as quickly as he came and Hirano is disappointed surprised.

Huh? Okay…

…I guess he wasn’t gonna touch me then.

The words leave his mouth before his mind can catch up and it’s terrible. Tolerance and indulgence is one thing, expectation is another (and desire creeps in before you know it).

Another thing: Hirano has a very acute awareness of how Kagi treats him. He notices when Kagi is acting off or when he avoids him. He hates when Kagi avoids him. Lately Kagi’s been consistently flinching away from him and it’s goddamn annoying.

And all of a sudden something comes crashing down and Kagi is closer than he’s ever been before and it’s. It’s well. It’s not entirely uncomfortable—no that’s not the right word. It burns. Kagi is too close all at once and he feels like Icarus about to fall. But he’ll reconcile with that later. Because Kagi lets go and the winter chill returns.

AND NAIL IN THE COFFIN THE FLASHBACKS OF KAGI WORKING SO HARD TO STAY ROOMMATES… and that almost resigned look on Hiranos face. All in regards to thinking about Kagi flirting with him ???!?@:)$@7?!@ which one he already does bestie. Two like. Like. They don’t have to change their relationship and that’s precisely what Hirano is so scared of. He thinks something would change that Kagi would change. And he doesn’t want that. But the beautiful thing is that they already treat each other as their whole world so like. They don’t have to change. Anyways. Back to Hirano thinking about Kagi and blushing. I’m going t[truck horns blaring sounds of car crashes]

Feeling crazy. Like. Hirano wants to love Kagi. I am screaming this from the rooftops he WANTS TO LOVE KAGI. And it’s not that he doesn’t— but it’s also not that he does. What he does know is that Kagi is an extremely important person to him, who he likes making happy. He has been worried for apparently a while that Kagi isn’t really happy with him—he doesn’t see when Kagi smiles to himself and clutches his chest with that overwhelming feeling of love, always barely restraining himself from swallowing Hirano whole. What he sees is the brunt of when Kagi is kinda angsty about it all. He’s seen Kagi lose sleep and get sick and and look sad and almost cry because of his feelings for Hirano. But Kagi has finally said, in plainest terms, Hirano makes him happy. Them touching makes him happy. Hirano knows he worked hard for them to stay together but it didn’t quite make sense to him. And if Kagi is defining that happiness as love, then what does that mean for Hirano, whose happiness stems from making Kagi feel happy? (feel loved)?

The fucking uh. Moments Hirano remembers that oh. Kagi loves him. Like. Loves him. Romantically and all. He doesn’t remember it often nor does he put much thought into it. But like. In moments like that ten second touch when Kagi takes both his hands and bows I have to wonder if Hirano thinks oh. This is something deeper than I understand right now. But he is trying to understand. He wants to understand. Love is a conscious effort and I think Hirano wants to love Kagi. Above all Hirano wants to make Kagi happy and if he has to love him to do that then he will and is that not already love. Is that not already love.

Thinking about how Hiranos way of being needy is like. “Let me do this for you.” Like. He needs to be . Not useful but. Well no yeah he needs to be useful. He’s a bit of a busy body and likes to do things for people.

AND LIKE. Kagi’s recent insistence that he wants to do things for Hirano too like….. Hirano is never the type to want people to do things for him or to be taken care of and here comes along Kagi who wants to show him all the kindness he shows other people… and Kagi’s insistence that he IS kind and caring despite his appearances. When everyone else’s opinions is that he’s intimidating and a bit of a nag here comes along Kagi telling him he is kind and put together and self-determined and beautiful. And I think of Kagi’s confession where he says these things and Hirano blushes because that’s probably the first time someone’s said that of him to his face like that.

It’s just. Hirano is naturally the kind of person to do things for people and he is not prepared when someone wants to do things for him.
