It’s one thing that he was top scorer of La Liga and won the Copa but historically those don’t count as much as European accolades, Lewandowski was top scorer of Europe and if I’m not mistaken didn’t Bayern win a CL not that long ago? Messi himself admitted that Robert should have won that award in 2020, and this year is no exception. If we’re going to get technical, more people wanted Jorginho as he won a CL with Chelsea and a Euros title. Or maybe it was just that competitive this year. 🤷🏻‍♀

You're forgetting that about 170/180 journalists all over the world are voting, do you really think Messi winning his first title with Argentina had less impact than Italy winning the Euro?

Jorginho as much as I admit he's one hell of a good player, he was not impactful enough in the Euro to win. Donnarumma got player of the tournament, not him. Though tbh I have barely seen anyone said they wanted him to win, it's all been between Messi, Lewy, and Benz*ma.

Also that's beside my point anyway, my point was you're using this to shit on PSG as if PSG has anything to do with Messi winning the ballon d'or. Nobody on earth believes that, not one PSG fan believes that. Before the votes closed he barely had time with us, barely played a full game. But OK, fine, you want to involve PSG then let's involve them. Do you know what Messi did with PSG before votes closed? Scored an absolute hell of a beaufitul goal against Man City where PSG won 2-0.

Your other post is 'name one thing psg did to make Messi deserve that award' when literally we're in an international competition year. What mattered was the CL and the international competitions which, newsflash, happened before Messi even came to PSG. So why even drag PSG twice into this? Do you believe Donnarumma won goalkeeper of the year because he joined PSG where he spends his time alternating with Navas??

Does Lewy deserve a ballon d'or? Fuck yes!! I would have been ecstatic if he had won it. I love him. I don't call him Lewangodwski for nothing. As you said yourself, Leo even asked France football to give Lewy the ballon d'or for last year. This year? This year there's competition and Messi won and even looking at his stats people still want to say it's undeserved and drag PSG into this for free...

Edit: also I want to add that people take this ballon d'or way too seriously. Instead of making fun of it like we do eurovision, people have to go make this an unfunny event. They literally invented two awards out of the blue. Can't we make fun of that and of France Football instead of going after the players and the teams??
