coincidentally found you when i was super into homestuck but now im super into d&d (just finished the first critical role campaign 😭) and you post that too!! Always loved your art & can really see the improvement 😊💖
Maybe I’m just subconciously following your fandoms around, who knows!!
Thank you so much! Gosh I love DnD, making up characters is incredibly fun and I barely post half the idiotic stuff I produce because most stuff is half finished and I get distracted making the next character.
Gotta say I didn’t get through the first season of Critical Role, just got overwhelmed by the mass of videos. But I luckily managed to watch the very first episode right when it was posted on YouTube and gosh I love it!

Cederblad 214 by Ken Mackintosh Via Flickr: Also designated Sharpless 171, this is a young irregular emission nebula and star forming region of about 40 light-years across, located some 3,300 light-years away at the edge of a giant molecular cloud toward the northern constellation Cepheus. Cosmic pillars of cold molecular gas and clouds of dark dust lie within. Powering the nebular glow are the young, hot stars of the Berkeley 59 cluster. This includes one of the hottest stars discovered in the vicinity of our Sun, namely BD+66 1673, an eclipsing binary system containing a very bright star with a luminosity ~100000 times that of the Sun. Its been a while since my last astro image due to short summer nights, the mainly bad weather since then and work and other commitments, but good to get posting again. The data for this image was gathered a few months back over 6 separate nights during June through August 2012, just took a while to get to the processing! The Great Orion Nebula (Messier 42, NGC 1970) in the constellation of Orion is the closest region of massive star formation to earth, and is so bright that is is visible to the naked eye. It is south of the three easily recognizable belt stars, and is the middle of the three sword stars that is clearly “fuzzy” in appearance, especially using binoculars. The nebula is 24 light years across and is estimated to contain the mass of 2,000 suns. Orion has a young open cluster at its brightest part containing 4 obvious stars referred to as the Trapezium, of which two are visual double stars, making a total of six. The coloration of Orion is an interplay of magenta coming from ionized hydrogen (red H-alpha and some blue H-beta), and blue/green or teal from doubly ionized oxygen (OIII). This coloration and detail was brought out from many long exposures using H-a and OIII narrowband filters. The nebula is part of a much larger complex known as the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, which includes familiar astrophotography objects, such as Barnard’s Loop, M43 (shown in the above image as the tear-shaped object just north of the Trapezium), the Horsehead Nebula, M78 and the Flame Nebula. The Hubble Space Telescope found over 100 areas where planetary systems are forming around young stars, so the Orion Nebula is clearly a star and planet nursery. TolgaAsro LLC Part - 2
TolgaAsro LLC is a unique full service astrophtography equipment supply company. We only sell what we use ourselves and recommend. When customers buy their equipment from us, we provide tech support when it's most needed.
This is an industry first and only tech support when you need it most, under the stars. No other astronmy company provides this service in the world. We can help you with selecting the right equipment, learning how to use the equipment to doing the installation for you if you choose.  We are factory trained on Planewave and Software bisque mounts and very knowledgeable in others we carry. In many cases if a customer runs into a problem, we will remotely log in and fix the issue in minutes instead of waiting for the next day for manufacturer support. We are the only dealer factory certified to service and upgrades to Paramounts. Give us a call and give us a try to experience the difference.
We work directly with the manufacturers with deliveries, installation schedules, integration of parts from different suppliers. In case of warranty issues, we work on your behalf to get things right.
You will not get a pushy salesman instead a friend who honestly will tell you what will work or not work. There have been many times we turned customers down because the purchase they had decided on was a bad idea. It's better to keep a friend for life versus making a single sale and have the customer have a bad experience.
We recently introduced installation services. We will come to your location anywhere in the US and do a complete installation if you choose to hire us.
Image processing tutorials are also available by our highly qualified instructors on an hourly basis.
STARLIGHT XPRESS Lodestar X2
The Lodestar X2 is an upgraded version of the very popular Lodestar autoguider. The original Lodestar uses the ICX429 Exview chip from Sony and offers excellent sensitivity. However, Sony have now upgraded the ICX429 to the ICX829, with considerably improved QE and read noise. This new 'Exview 2' chip approximately doubles the Lodestar sensitivity and adds nearly a full star magnitude to the minimum guide star brightness.
Planewave L600 Direct Drive Mount 600551
PlaneWave Instruments is proud to introduce its new L-Series direct drive mount system. Offered in Alt-Az or Equatorial configuration. The L-Series comes in three models; the L-350 capable of holding 100 lbs; the L-500 designed for the CDK17/20 that can hold payload of over 200 lbs. The L-600 is ideal for the CDK24 and can hold up to 300 lbs. All mounts are designed and manufactured by PlaneWave Instruments with zero backlash and zero periodic error, virtually silent motion and slew speeds of up to 50 degrees per second!
The L-Series combines versatility, simplicity and affordability by combining all the technology of our Observatory class telescopes into a compact stand-alone mount.   In its Alt/Az configuration it is considerably more compact than its equatorial counterpart, allowing a larger telescope to fit in a smaller enclosure. Unlike German Equatorial mounts, there are no meridian flips to deal with, and no  large protruding counterweights to create a dangerous hazard in a public observatory. Alt/Az is more intuitive to use and no polar alignment is needed. Besides, it is the way the pros do it!
For more details on our products and services, please feel free to visit us at Planewave L600, Software Bisque, Planewave telescopes, FLI cameras, Astrodon Filters

November ‘18 - Different Location
For the November star party weekend (November 2-5), instead of going to my normal location of GMARS in the So Cal desert, I went out to Williams AZ and to some property owned by some friends (thanks Jeff and Susie). Much darker skies but there were high clouds rolling thru for the entire weekend.
Tumblr media
While the clouds made for some nice sunsets, they were not very conducive to good astro-photos.
Tumblr media
So for this month, it’s back to hyperstar imaging. Setup looks like:
Tumblr media
Celestron 1100 HD scope, Losmandy G11 mount, Starlight Xpress SX-814c camera. The computer (an Intel NUC) is mounted on the bottom of the scope - sky end. The next thing on my “to-do” list is to get wireless setup. The monitor/keyboard will be replaced with a laptop that would then just do a remote-desktop connection to the NUC.
All of the images that follow are full frame (except for one which is noted).
Tumblr media
NGC998 - Barred Spiral Galaxy in Cetus - 24 @ 1 minute
There are 2 satellites that go thru this image. If I were to process them out, it would have required removing 8 of the images. But 24 is already lower than I like.
Tumblr media
NGC2371/Candy Wrapper Nebula in Gemini - cropped - 44 @ 1 minute (one of my favorite planetary nebula)
Tumblr media
Andromeda Galaxy/M31 (center) ,M32 (top) ,M110 (cut off on bottom edge) - 43 @ 1 minute
Tumblr media
Barnard 34 - Dark nebula in Auriga - 45 @ 1 minute
Not as dark/distinct as I was expecting.
Tumblr media
Center portion of the California Nebula/NGC1499 - 106 @ 1 minute
Tumblr media
Pleiades/M45 in Taurus - 43 @ 1 minute
Tumblr media
Pelican Nebula/IC5070 in Cygnus - 48 @ 1 minute
Tumblr media
Pacman Nebula/NGC281 in Cassiopeia - 61 @ 1 minute
Tumblr media
Part of Butterfly Nebula/IC1318 in Cygnus - 46 @ 1 minute.
Overall, this trip was a success. Much longer drive (6.5 hours instead of 2 for GMARS) and so only worth it for a multi-night stay.

Windows and OS X Support Nebulosity is a cross-platform application. It runs natively in Windows (Win7-32/64, 8, 10) and in OS X 10.7-10.14 (Intel only - Version 2 supported PPC processors - Version 3.0.7 was the last to support OS X 10.5). While Nebulosity itself is fully cross-platform, many of the camera drivers required for image capture are not. Under OS X, camera control and image.

I went out last night, the first clear night in ages. The last time I had been out was the morning of the lunar eclipse. I was hoping the equipment was going to work straight away after not using it for a few months. The EQ8 mount was fine, the Lakeside focuser was working well, the Windows 10 PC was working well. But the Starlight Xpress filter wheel suddenly wouldn’t stop rotating.
I first tried just unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in, that changed nothing. I then tried restarting the PC, that still didn’t work. Thales e-transactions usb devices driver win 7. Triorail Port Devices driver. I then looked on the Starlight Xpress website and downloaded the ASCOM v6.1 driver then I found the Starlight Xpress filter wheel firmware I had was 2 versions behind. So I installed the installer and managed to connect to the filter wheel and update the firmware. But even after doing this the wheel was still turning constantly.
I then tried a different USB port on the PC, but the PC did not even recognise the filter wheel. So my last option was to change the USB cable to a different one. Tyan laptops wallpaper. I went straight from the filter wheel to the PC with the new USB cable into the same USB port on the PC and it worked. What I previously had was a USB extension cable and then a standard USB cable into the filter wheel. So I am still not sure if the USB extension cable was at fault (they usually are) or the standard USB cable.
Another thing to check is if the USB cable is loose in the back of the PC, as sometimes USB cables don’t fit very well into the back of the PC, they can be a very loose fitting. Download technotrend others driver. This may also be a problem if you are using a USB hub PCI card.
But if your Starlight Xpress filter wheel is constantly rotating check the USB cable is plugged in correctly, if that does not work try a different USB cable. As the power for the filter wheel is coming through the USB cable and you may have stepped on it and damaged it.
