If you watch this whole video you will see that it took me just under four and a half minutes to climb up and down without a rest. If you look at the 2nd video you will see that I shaved a minute off that time. Now if you were to look more closely at how my body moves you will realise I am expending an enormous amount of energy. What you will not be aware of is Im testing the resilience of the branches with every part my body comes in contact with. So much energy in fact by the 3rd sprint my body is telling it has run out of stamina. However I am fast learning this is a mind over matter thing and is the way to train the body to excel and do the impossible. If you look at the 3rd video you will see a close up of me mounting the trunk. The 4th video sees me climbing the tree three times although this is in fact up to the 21st climb. What you wont realise video’s two and three are after I have speed climbed the tree 14 times in time lapse mode. I clocked the time at approx 75 minutes. In all with the other photo and videos I climbed the American Beech a little over two hours. Include the hour of mobility exercises, the hour of foam rolling and a further 30 minutes of yoga stretching plus a further 30 minutes of foam rolling before I go to bed. This is what I call a workout. Over the weekend I was reading about Tom Cruise and his latest movie mission impossible 7. My mission impossible is eventually to climb this tree 100 times in under 7 hours. For the next few weeks until my 100 different tree ultra-marathon I hoping for the middle of this coming October I will be training on this American Beech. A tree that weathers time the best and is most resilient to I accidentally damaging it. I then decided to take a 10 minute walk to the Laurel you have previously seen me climb but I failed; decided I risked too much. The gap in my tree climbing I had lost the momentum. You will have to watch the time lapse video separately. #speedclimbing #sprintclimb #treeclimb #mobility #timelapse #missionimpossible #tomcruise #stuntman #climber #thewilltofinish #livinginthemoment #protocols #redefineyourimpossible #wimhof #over60fit #extremefitness #momentum #monkeyclimber (at Camlet Moat) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTLDR5SDS_E/?utm_medium=tumblr
