The Tree Banshee theory

This is a theory predicting the role of Spooky Month's most enigmatic monster, one many fans might not even know about yet, so sit back and enjoy!

Watching HS for a second time, Gregor's pose here stuck out to me, so I went back to check my hunch...

Yep, he's in the same pose as the figure on the left wing of the gate. But what about the tree like figure on the right wing?

Well, for that, we turn to the movie theatre, many fans know about the demon priest poster that foreshadowed HS back in TT, well we see a very interesting poster for a second in episode 6

"The Forest Sight", huh?

Now for the clencher, we turn to an image from the arg

The same eye patterns, and a ghoulish being I've come to call the Tree Banshee, you might remember it for it's scream in TT or for an illustration of it in the book from the TT arg.

I believe this entity also somehow benefits from sacrifices made to Eyes and that it will be a/the major monster of a future episode, which lines up well with my idea of Roy's episode being about him chasing Skid and Pump into the woods, where they get lost.

Okay I'm just going to dump my thoughts here on Spooky Month 6 and it's ending.

SPOILERS BELOW.

Alrighty. So. From what I can tell and what others have already said, it was implied that Father Gregor had become a sacrifice for The Eyes after the cult practically threw him to the wolves.

However, I feel like there might be one of possibly two ways this goes.

1. He's actually been killed off. (And why I think that might not be likely. I am a death denier at heart </3)

* Since Father Gregor is starting to uncover aspects of the town that may begin to unnerve some of the residents there, it would be wise of them to get rid of him to prevent backstabbing and to prevent suspicions of what's really going on behind the scenes.

* Nobody seems to really trust Father Gregor except Skid and Pump (even though they do seem rather hesitant to trust him as well, said trust likely majorly broken when Moloch was turned to stone/dust.). And, well, nobody is going to bat an eye about a guy they barely know, right? However, this can create issues as the residents may be suspicious of where the "random guy" has gone.

*I suspect The Eyes may have a bigger part for Father Gregor to play in the cult or in the town, yet I cannot begin to speculate what that role may be yet.

2. He has been...changed.

*I personally feel like some people focus on the more physical aspects of being "sacrificed" when it comes to this scene near the end. While being a sacrifice can mean being physically slaughtered or killed, it can also mean giving up something of extreme value to you or surrendering, which is more on the mental or emotional side of things. I feel like Father Gregor may have been harmed partially physically, yet had the most damage done with "sacrificing" his own faith to surrender to The Eyes. This would be evident in his expression and body language. He is looking into the face of what is practically a god himself. If you were in his position and saw a being in much higher power and control than you, tell me you would not be scared shitless. I guarantee most of us cannot claim as such.

* In his body language, he doesn't really appear to me as if he is offering himself up to be killed. It seems more like an act of peace. He knows he cannot win with any use of protest or violence like he did with the demonic possessions of Moloch using the residents. He is getting on his knees and opening his arms as a sign of peace, a sign of surrender. This man has seen the face of God, and is not going to risk anything by a simple wrong move or action. It looks to me more like a plea for mercy, a plea for The Eyes to have a speck of pity for him. Dude is fucking terrified, and he knows that his plea may go fully unanswered as he is left to be lamb to the slaughter.

*In this absolutely beautiful credits art in the ending, it depicts Father Gregor clearly reaching towards The Eyes, as if seeking for help or assistance before he is possibly brought to Moloch's underworld. The contrast of the cult being a "heaven" vs Moloch's underworld being clearly "hell" makes me wonder if The Eyes may actually decide to have mercy on Father Gregor. He has clearly been shown to have mercy on the misguided and naive (E.g. Skid and Pump.), yet also displays traits of being poor on judgement of whom to "save" (e.g. Bob Velseb), making them practically insane by the end of their run or course. The way Father Gregor has wings and reaches for The Eyes makes me think that perhaps The Eyes plans to make him a secondary leader or main spokesperson for the cult. After all, even though nobody knows him that much, would you not take a highly respected man of a God's word as the truth? Many people, especially the residents of the town, may be much more likely to give into the cult's demands after its been "approved" by a man of faith.

Of course, these are just my thoughts, nothing is concrete. We can only go off of the tidbits we are given so far.

I just realized that since Michelle died in the morgue where Dexter was, and how Moloch was puppeteering both of their bodies in the same place, it's very possible that she could've seen her son's corpse right before she was murdered.

Yeah.

And how when he was mimicking Dexter with the "My mom used to hug me" thing, he probably got that from Michelle telling him thinking that he was Patty. She just really missed her son :(((

yk i have a little little theory idk probably anyone already said it but

so skid and pump are burning happy fellas dolls in the episode right

and we know that happy fella dolls are most likely some sort of vessels for souls

and there's at least few people who know about that, we also have a poster reporting a happy fella doll being possessed

maybe it's the deal with all of this burning of dolls?? i can't really say why and who wants to destroy them, but maybe it's some sort of task from father gregor for skid and pump or something?? or maybe it's citizens overall trying to get rid of them?? i don't know but

most likely there's someone who knows or suspects something about all those things with these goofy ass dolls and tries to do something about it

Something I've seen no one talk about:

Skid's nickname has only been said or seen once thoughout the 5 episodes, and it was when Skid introduced himself and Pump to Eyes in The Stars.

Skid has said Pump's nickname three times (twice in The Stars, one I mentioned and In Deadly Smiles), Pump also writes his nickname on a letter him and Susie are sending to their parents

We also know that Pump's real name starts with "Wil"

Skid's real name is also hidden in a photo of him and his parents when Skid got his first tooth

This probably means nothing but I just find it interesting that no one has said the word "Skid" in the show except Skid himself, and we know the start of Pump's real name but we have no idea what's Skid's real name is, if it means anything at all it'll probably be connected to the lore with the cult somehow, and I only think that because of this image

Hollow Sorrows Trailer Breakdown LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO

Obviously, if you don't want spoilers, scroll away. If you've already seen the trailer, LET'S GO!!!

So when we first see possessed Patty, she looks mostly normal, you can't even see her demon teeth through the mask yet. John and Jack probably only came in since they heard a scream and/or struggle coming from the morgue.

So we get a shot of the boys being too chaotic, something Gregor points out and what will likely cause the "bad character development" Pelo ahs mentioned.

Also, since it's 100% what Pelo would do, Costume Bob is the guy in the HF suit. Mark my words.

The scene with the hatz is really interesting to me, since Skid and Pump just annoys Roy for a moment and leave. I think this might be all we get of the hatzgang this time, similar to how Frank only had a brief Appearance in Tender Treats. If my theory that episode 7 will focus on Roy is true, this little scene will be very interesting to dissect when the full episode drops.

We actually get out first proper glimpse at a new character and I think this old man is the very last character in the line up teaser

And there's also a pretty good chance he Roy's grandfather and given the way he reacts to the boys antics here, I can definitely see him being a another reasons Roy's the way he is.

If he actually is Roy's grandpa, then @crossover-enthusiast and I's Roy discussions are going to get really fun pretty soon.

Here, Skid is clearly holding a framed photo, meaning this will almost certainly be the first time his father is brought up directly.

Also, yeah, with Pump's line about "hangover spooky month", it seems my theory about Lila in this episode was at least half right.

Yet more proof that the boys' absent parents will be more of a focus. The trailer as a whole gives me some ideas regarding the Wonder parents, but I feel they're best saved for another time.

The boys get into trouble with the cops and I have 2 theories regarding when, either Gregor tries to get them sent home before going to the hospital, but they talk their way out of it, or they actually do get sent home at the end of the episode.

John's expression here immediately makes we think that something Skid or Pump said reminded him of his daughter. Another plot thread that has yet to be directly acknowledged.

Ignacio watches Gregor lead the boys away, maybe he lives down the street from Skid and Lila to keep an eye on them for the cult?

Either way, I'm surprised his appearance won't take place in the hospital as I previously predicted.

"I will be your guide. And I know your parents would be proud of you."

There's something undeniably sinister about this line, but how sinister hinges on whether Gregor is a cultist or ex-cultist. Whatever the case may be, he definitely knows more about or sees more in the boys than he lets on.

A great title card, and thought the blood everywhere is definitely concerning, I don't think there's anything to really say here, just wanted to get a screenshot of it.

And it would appear the character I've referred to as the cat lady will have the unenviable role of a hapless victim to the episode's villain. But honestly, I'm more surprised by her being at the hospital in the first place and why that never occurred to me before.

The actual progression of Patty's possession confirms to she's possessed by something other than Moloch. And what seals it for me is, fittingly, the eyes. The white of her eyes becomes a more vivid yellow, yet her pupil snot only don't form Moloch's typical spirals, but they're a more vivid shade of baby blue, a color that has never had any significance in the series before. Moloch will mostly be trapped in Dexter before eventually possessing Gregor, I will die on this hill.

AND THE FUGGIN' RELEASE DATE!!!

Spooky Month Mannequin Theory

Time to talk about the mannequin in the room (or err, attic...)

First off, I noticed that the mannequin in Skid and Lila’s attic has importance. In fact, I think it may be alive, possessed, or controlled in some way and no one has talked about it (ok maybe someone has talked about it, but I haven’t seen anything...) I’m thinking this is going to be a spooky future creature of some kind possibly, maybe in relation to the spider that hides all around in the attic. While this is true, I think that it will actually be a “nice” monster. Now, if you don’t believe me when I say it is alive or possessed in some way, if you go back and rewatch the older Spooky Months, it moves slightly in the first and third spooky months when the attic is visible. And if you don’t believe me when I say I think it is friendly or protective, it saves Lila, Skid, and Pump from the Happy Fella when they are in the attic by falling on its head:

and it also saves Lila when Bob (The cannibal) is looking for her in the attic by creaking it’s head to make Bob think Lila’s creaking footstep on the stairs was actually just it moving:

Now I think this Mannequin has two lore threads (or spider webs) it could be related to. Either it is being manipulated by the spider in the attic to do as its bidding (as seen with all the webs on it and how it often is shown with the spider). In that case, if we have a future episode on the spider in the attic, this might mean that the spider is really friendly and wants to help Lila and Skid. It doesn’t seem like it has been doing much harm there after all...? There are some problems with this theory though, as you can see in Spooky Month 3, when the pest control is taking care of the “Rat,” there is a body tied up on the ceiling (so the spider might be bad). Note: How has Lila and Skid not noticed this?????

NOW, the other theory that I think could be more plausible is that the Mannequin is possessed by Skid’s dad. You may think this is a weird theory if it weren’t for the fact that it is almost always pictured with the ripped pictures of Skid’s suppositive father:

Another interesting thing to note is that like all of the photos of Skid’s dad that have ripped out faces, the Mannequin has a cinematic parallel to a blank featureless face. (Also, while this is not related to the Mannequin, I think it is interesting that Lila immediately ripped out the photo of Bob at the end of Spooky Month 5, showing that she often destroys pictures of people in her past that she has had bad experiences with.) Since we know that Skid’s father is dead (from the Father’s day photo Sr. Pelo posted of Skid and Lila at a tombstone), it wouldn’t be a stretch that the Mannequin is the possessed form of Skid’s dad still looking after the family.

Finally, the evidence I think really relates the Mannequin to Skid’s family was the hidden photo in Spooky Month 5′s ARG:
