Sometimes soul food makes you happy even in the wierdest moments. After a strenuous horse (read pony) ride, i was super hungry and the sight of 'Rajma Chawal' was no better sin to commit. The cold weather accompanied with rains atop the beautiful Gulmarg couldn't resist me for a hot & steamy portion of the famous Rajma Chawal. Contrary to the belief, Rajma (kidney beans) was never an Indian dish and found in Mexico in abundance in their cuisine. However, the dish was popularized in North India as it boosts energy during the winter months. Rajma also has other health benefits which makes it most sought after.
