the tales of berseria/zestiria interlock also drives me bonkers because. you see one, singular person from the main berseria crew survive to zestiria, & even then, we don't actually see maotelus—who knows how much laphicet's changed. (i'm not counting velvet among the "survivors" here, & eizen is. well. i think the degradation of self to nothing beyond Kill Instinct re: dragonification is not surviving.) and the thing is that there are a couple guys who could've survived. but they never would've y'know. rokurou lived for a while but he was always going to go out in a battle (spar? i hesitate to call what he does sparring) to prove himself and his swords stronger. anyways what gets me about this is that you can see echoes of some of the berseria crew IN the zestiria crew, most literally with edna but also wrt rose's fighting style being reminiscent of rokurou's, and alisha's vibes are very eleanor in nature, etc etc. also zaveid, which. yeah. the MOST literal beyond edna but i wouldn't necessarily count him as a part of berseria's main crew. hough. if i think about this for too long it makes me crazy i have no idea how much of this was intended if any of it but (gestures wildly) (falls back dramatically onto fainting couch)
